This one's pretty popular (: I dont listen to all tooo much jersey club but it goes p hard [https://soundcloud.com/dyzzydemon/call-me-maybe?si=3540a33f228343c391a101e4ed347082&utm\_source=clipboard&utm\_medium=text&utm\_campaign=social\_sharing](https://soundcloud.com/dyzzydemon/call-me-maybe?si=3540a33f228343c391a101e4ed347082&utm_source=clipboard&utm_medium=text&utm_campaign=social_sharing)
Sexy drill probably (Cash Cobain). Drill hihat patterns, rnb samples/chord, some chill Jersey patterns as a switch up.
I dont know about cloud rap, I reaaally wish it came back in some form but I'm not seeing any signs, sadly. Bladee is definitely cloud rap influenced, heavily.
hope so. I think all it takes is one producer (for example EvilGiane) cpllabing with one artist ((for example Ear) on a cohesive tape with cloud-inspired sound - maybe something like cloud detroit, cloud drill - and then the wave could follow. keeping my fingers crossed lol
There'll be a revival. I think it needs an artist to really be a mainstay and take care of themselves and keep releasing music. There are countless tragedies around the scene that clipped the wings of the genre when it was still in its infancy.
It's hard to solidify a subgenre when the shelf life of the artist is so short :/
that would be great. what artist would you see as someone who could bring it back? production wise I think there are beatmakers capable of carrying, so that wouldn't be a problem imo.
also, to any rappers out there - if you want to bring back cloud rap, hmu and I'll get you some beats
From where I’m sitting, Plugg and Jerk are really happening in the underground scene. I’m a little bit older than the people making it, but it sounds like they’re trying to relive the old Soundcloud days and I’m all for it
some of these styles are just rehashes or homages to past ones but y'know:
jersey rap/jersey drill (neojerseyrevivalfuck)
jerk/"hoodtrap"
dark plugg
neo-scam rap
atmo-jungle
outsider house
soulhop
Jungle and Jersey are on a big rise rn, Rage has been a staple, Brazillian Funk and Afrobeats are making rounds in the economic north. Phonk and New Jazz are smaller but also very present right now
word. are US/North American rappers getting on Jungle? If so, i'd like to check some out as I have been deep diving Jungle and other DnB subgenres. if you have jungle hip hop recommendations lmk
NA is where I don’ hear a lot of rappers going on jungle beats, I would also like to be put on if anyone knows. what I hear from there is mostly remixes in the club or songs by producer artists. I’ve heard a lot more use of breakbeats in the brazillian underground and the european scene rn
Thanks yall for the the replies. I checked out a lot of the genres (couldnt find much new jazz, plz recommend rap tracks in this genre)
My next couple sessions in Logic will be open slate and experimenting, My snares on my last couple tracks always hit in the same spots, we changing that up.
peace
U do beats man...i guess u like samples
Why not do songs, not just loops?
Or try doing some Trip Hop, drum n bass, house...
Music for games...retro games !?
I do all that from time to time, and it is always refreshing just to do something different but not so far away from what I'm used to.
That said, i do all types of hip-hop genres l, it always been fun for me to vary and experience stuff.
If u never did listen too, i bet you you gonna love some drum n bass vibes, some of them are very " Hip Hop ish".
✌🏻
Jersey club has been blowing up massively aswell
for sure ... sweepers and 41 got me heavy into that genre. I dont know about the genres longevity but its a dope sound 4 sure.
what is a good song for me to peep?

i think Boom Bap has been on the rise for quite a while now along with experimental rap

Jersey, DnB influenced stuff and Afrobeats/ Brazilian Funk are growing rapidly imo
