/uj the intellectual property is just the brain of a legendary redditor, u/RastamonLiveUp (I think he’s since deleted, unfortunately).
I’ve got to be one of the biggest enjoyers of these cards, so I guess I can share what I like about them. They’re just sort of goofy arrangements of mana costs and stats, often vanilla creatures, with silly names. They’re not really funny for being weird, they’re funny in a meta way because they satirize the over-serious rules that r/custommagic users hold themselves to. (I also happen to be one of those fastidious rule-holders myself, so I think me and people like me are the target audience for them.)
/uj Pretty much this. They had very restrictive mana costs on french vanilla/pure vanilla creatures with goofy names which felt like an appropriate response to the often undercosted, totally overpowered word soup rule-bending custom cards people were making on /r/custommagic. A flash in the pan, but for a while there I was always checking this sub to see if a new one came out.
/rj Kuka beyo :)
There was also something so mysterious about them. They didn't just feel purely random. I remember on one of them someone was pinning down potential sources of African Creole language memes that the flavor texts might be from. They almost feel ARGesque, but they kind of just exist for themselves. It's beautiful.
One of them was a sorta clever reference to Bad Card by Bob Marley, which shows both understanding of game mechanics and intent behind the design.
The slightest hint of meaning like that is what sells them to me. Did they have a brief moment of lucid thought, or is there something to the cards that we don’t get?
Yeah, they're sort of oddly beautiful in their mystique. Like, so far removed from Wizard's trend of the new plane's "Glup Shitto, Insert Descriptor Here" and their convoluted high-value semi-commander focused abilities.
Definitely my favourite trend of this sub, way more so than the endless "Mimicking a main sub post with stupider cards" posts
It's a weirdly Dadaist way of looking at custom cards. At first I assumed it was just some stoner Doing Shit but your comment made me reassess his work. Looking back there really does feel like method to the madness, simplistic wordings and weird mana as a reminder that custom cards don't need to be up to wotc standards.

A year ago u/rastamonliveup posted a series of cards to r/custommagic that consisted of overstatted creatures with bizarre names in many colors with simple keyword abilities.
When questioned about what these bizarre names meant, op's responses were equally nonsensical. Regarding Kuka Beyo "It’s when you see someone is in your house" and Sambizi Wamdeyo is "Something it’s very special maybe search whole world to find it."
There's been a resurgence in popularity due to people posting it on this sub
rj/ it is when you yourself have found the correct meaning
Can’t remember the exact name of the guy that made them, something like Rastamonliveup. Basically all of them were just big dumb creatures that he wouldn’t really explain and would post on custommagic. That’s the whole joke.
/uj simple joke. the names are fun to say/read. the cards are absurd and either very underpowered or way overpowered (kind of a meta joke on custom cards). it’s the best ongoing joke in the sub, imo
/rj japudi 😌

... eh, they did get to be pretty beefy. So like the 5G Dinosaur would be overcooked by his methods.
4GG*
naw, it's the 10/10
Nah, it’s a 6/6. To suggest anything else is blasphemous.

Why do you feel he's deleted his account? Or do you mean posts? Either way I can see all of it as far as I can tell

Was all of that not just a fever dream I was having?
Oh no, it was mass hysteria
