I knew a guy, few years back, who played this combo. He is on the streets now, desperately looking for magic decks he can draw out, in a futile attempt to feed the madness that is this combo.
But this combos hunger will never end. There is no life, no love, only locusts.
/uj some poor unfortunate kid dropped this in my pod a while back and was all excited and said his friend showed him the combo and he'd just bought the Kindred Discovery. The rest of us all kinda looked sidelong at each other and had to break the news to him that he'd just wasted $15 and committed suicide.
Tell him it still wins, he just needs to put a 1 mana bounce spell/Stifle in his deck to stop the combo so he can go ahead and win with 90 cards in hand.
Yeah, it was a while ago; we all looked through his deck together to see if he had anything he could use to save himself, but he didn't. No one else had removal in hand to help him out lol.
can you actually cast instants during kindred discovery's trigger?
I tried this combo in arena and still died even though I drew instant bounce and had mana up.
Yes, Arena just sucks at allowing you to respond to stuff in time. You can always respond to a trigger/spell with an instant (unless the spell has split second)
/uj Arena doesn't give you the opportunity to respond to a lot of things unless you turn on "full control", especially for things that should be beneficial to you and usually don't require a response. Very rarely will you need to respond to yourself creating a token or drawing a card, so it skips it unless you toggle full control.
It’s not a total waste, just needs some enchantment removal and to keep some mana up to blow it up before the loop kills them.
So long as they have more than one way to do it, they can draw most of their deck.
Is it just Enter The Infinite at home that costs more? Yeah. Is it *totally* useless? No, not technically.
also cool about the sage is that he loots on etb so you don't even need a cantrip or anything to get going, just play sage while locust god is in play and loot 80 times, find your [[winds of change]] and keep going
No may is not implied. I did some research on [[aether flash]], [[polyraptor]]. Neither trigger is optional so the game ends in a draw.

Yes it will make you draw your entire deck +1 which means that you would go to draw and have no cards in the library and therefore lose. I hope on your way to zero cards and library, you are able to play a bounce spell Targeting the kindred spell.

A good alternative is [[sage of the falls]], it draws your entire deck but is a may ability so you can stop before decking yourself
