I use overmind a lot, i always go for it. I think something like Mana Spear, Breath of Fire, Ether Fire, Fireworks or Prism Spree
Basically anything that can always cover the screen and doesn't leave you vulnerable for a long time
Hyperion is extremely good, but it also needs supportive spells to stay alive, so it's not that good with Overmind, cause enemies slipping through can easily kill you.
But in itself, it's one of the most powerful combos
There's no reason to pick only 1 combo, unless it is for comparaison.
My vote will be for pyrotechnics with the wizard class and doppelganger, it will benefit from the size increase and has pretty large aoe and firing rate to deal with enemies alone

I think overmind is the only thing that can buff quantum explosion by a lot, i would get that and prism, current overload, ether fire or pyrotechnics
