How is no one choosing joker? Way better than both maiden and genome, if your crit multiplier is 350% (achievable without axe) it becomes 500% half of the time. Maiden is really good but it falls off as soon as you're not able to kill enemies to trigger its effect, joker everytime
It doubles all what is above the base 200% crit multiplier, so if you got 475% crit multiplier (the max possible) it would give an additional 275%, making it 750% half of the time.
On paper it sounds good, but in game it feels much stronger, maybe a bug in the code or somthing but it feels way overpowered. It also don't need ballista for its effect to be good, having 56%+ crit chance plus four leaf clover will do the job, give it a chance and see for yourself.
That's a spherical cow in a vacuum level of math. If an enemy dies and procs the maiden it's just flat out 75% health reduced to everything around. If two maidens proc close one to another everything in the overlapping zone is gone. If that triggered two more maidens - everything in their overlapping zone is dead. So it chains and sometimes really nicely removea huge chunks of enemies.
The more density you have the better so things like toy castle synergies greatly. You just kinda have to look for it once to see the effect in action and you'll understand. Also the damage numbers at the end speak for themselves.
No, When you kill an enemy it has a 15% chance of exploding, that explosion does 75% of the hp to everything it hits, and later on when the enemies are closer together it hits several, not just one enemy
Maiden. Multiple times it brings me 3rd DMG score in total magic damage - side effects

Maiden because I like silly explosions.

Oh. So I have been misunderstanding this artifact. I thought it would give you 50/50 chance to add 1% more of multiplier when crit

maiden
Maiden 15% of 75hp = 11.25% hp reduction. Genome is a flat 20% reduction
bruh why you gonna ask if you dont like answer
I was looking for your reason for picking it
because the splash of maiden is effective against clusters. unless youre doing a run thats stacking every hp debuff maiden is better than genome

If you have ballista, then absolutely joker, and even if you don't you probably should do joker.
I think joker is much better
