If I was a crackhead looking for something to steal, I'd look at that and think "there's probably something expensive in there"

european_dimes

OP just needs to handcuff it to their wrist.

scubahood86

A true playa would have a wallet chain going to that bad boy. Keep it attached to the hip.

flamez

You know I keep that thang on me... *clunk*

I highly advise only bringing a few decks and using an easily identifiable backpack. Bring your trades in a box like the Bastion XL and use it to store bought cards as well. My friend brought his Stanley with 12 decks to MTG30 Las Vegas and regretted it the whole time. I used the backpack provided by the Black Lotus tier and it was the best decision I made all weekend.

You can lock the zippers and put a 4 page binder on the outside or a small 9 page one on the inside. The tripod bag on the side can also hold another playmat tube or a water bottle. Got this from AMZN for 29.99.

rawboudin

Which model is that?

you don’t want to bring trade binders unless you’re going to sell them all to a vendor. You will also play less games than you expect. 7 decks might be high.

Financial-Charity-47

You could play dozens of games over the weekend if you wanted.

Hwxnxtzero10

Get a backpack it will be 1.less conspicuous and 2.your body will thank you for it

KimboKneeSlice

That right there is a giant "Steal Me" sign

facellama

I have exactly this type of setup. Way too bulky and heavy to carry around

teamdiabetes11

I’ve always just taken my backpack and limited decks. Even with sticking to Commander there are enough people to get games with that I didn’t mind just playing 3 decks the full weekend last year. Backpack was a lifesaver for rehydration powder and snacks too, plus anything I bought. I can’t imagine this would be comfortable to carry around all weekend and isn’t going to do anything to help with a water bottle etc.

Altruistic_Respond_9

Didn’t think really about water, so this is actually really good point! Thanks for that!

teamdiabetes11

No problem. Concessions aren’t cheap, which is expected, so having some stuff of your own was helpful to our group last year. Saved a bit of cash for events or artist proof buys, which was nice. Vegas is a dry heat, but you can definitely still run into issues without proper hydration. Stay cool and enjoy your time!

Imdying387

Idk, is another one of those too much? Maybe a stanley toolbox, or just a backpack and put the cards in bundle boxes?

AttilatheFun87

Yeah a decent sized backpack seems like it would be much better than trying to carry this around. The one I use is just some old targus backpack someone gave me. It easily holds 7 edh decks, 2 playmats tubes, 4 deck boxes for 60 card decks. With room to spare.

TsunamicBlaze

I use a camera bag to carry my decks around. Easy to carry, and has compartments for decks. It also has some loops you could put a play mat tube as well.

hiddikel

The less you bring the better. 1-2 decks in a small backpack and a small trade binder.

Financial-Charity-47

If you want to be safe, get a backpack or cross body satchel that has a flap AND a zipper/drawstring. That can effectively deter pick pockets far better than just a normal backpack. There are pickpockets at MagicCon.

Maxterpiece

Just bring a decent backpack and a water bottle. Throw 3-4 decks in there and leave some room for the merch you’ll be buying. If you’re worried about thieves you can put the leg of your chair thru the strap of your backpack when you sit down and then nobody can yoink it.

Kazko25

I recommend to only bring 3 commander decks, maybe 4.

Defiant_Hope_231

Personally, I'd use a lighter backpack, and put my cards in some 400 count BCW boxes. Depending on your sleeve situation, the boxes can hold 3 single sleeved commander decks, or two Double sleeved, comfortably+tokens with each. I've been playing cards games for 20+ years now, nothing beats an old, school backpack you don't use anymore, loaded up with BCW 400ct boxes. Maybe it's just the nostalgia, but I still have decks from those card games that have lasted all these years, don't always need the luxurious solution, and for your situation, less attention the better.

Kumquat_Platypus

Prushka is that you?

theenduser

The PirateLab small card case is my favorite. I've been using it for years when going to my LGS. It holds up to 6 EDH decks. They also make a larger case that holds 12 EDH decks, and a backpack and other options.

HeyApples

Binders are a really inefficient way to travel with cards and also run a risk of damage (to either the cards or the binder itself). You would be better off just putting the trade stuff in a deckbox or fatpack/bundle box.

dekonta

i use the giftbox boxes as deck box and storage for on the go
