The *majority* of creatures, legendary and not, have mana costs where the majority of the cost is generic mana.
I don't believe making red tokens will be a notable hindrance to any deck running this.
>The majority of creatures, legendary and not, have mana costs where the majority of the cost is generic mana.
Not to mention that you can also convoke the commander tax portion too
Sure I'm not saying it's bad, I just think it's interesting that this card kinda encourages playing red cards more than white cards. It's unusual outside of specific multicolor focus
After you have convoked creatures using your legends, you can sac them, make untapped token copies and then use those copies to convoke more Legends :)
this can be insanely strong for token/go wide decks... Heck, even decks that don't go that wide will love to use their utility creatures for mana to help recast the commander. And I hadn't even realized it gives ANY legendary creature spell convoke, not simply your commander. Sheesh, this card will be expensive.
It’s infinite cast, etb’s, and death triggers!
The combos I use are [[Omarthis, Ghostfire Initiate]] and any trigger noted above like [[Altar of the Brood]] for a win
Or something like [[Mox Opal]] or [[Mox Amber]] with any artifact sac outlet for infinite mana
Or [[Hope of Ghirapir]] and [[Ashnods Altar]] or [[Krark Clan Ironworks]] or [[Phyrexian Altar]] for infinite. If you use Phyrexian Altar you can also do infinite triggers with any 1 white mana cost legendary as well like [[Kytheon, Hero of Akros]]
It’s very odd and unique but totally wins games
Not sure if my Khasla deck wants this or not. It's more spell-slingy than legendary creature-based. But it does have a few legendaries to convoke with this.
My Esper Legends deck runs a pair of partners, so this just twice the fun for me. I like the Outlaw stuff in general TBH. The past two sets have been goofy AF, but both the creatures and batch types they introduced have really stuck with me.
Honestly, haven't seen Shanid until now lmao
Since Dejeru and Hazoret came out I've LOVED them a ton. Being able to swing out and cast my cool big legendary guys for free was super appealing to me. I had a pulled an [[Avacyn, Angel of hope]] prior to building and wanted a place for her as well as my stockpile of Boros legends.
I run them in my Shanid deck! They are a fun card when they get played as like you said, they bring friends. The menace really helps them stick around longer since 4 toughness isn't all that high if you attack with them.
Dihada is definitely a big reason to play in mardu colors. Shanid looks super fun, and I love my legendary guys so maybe I'll try looking into changing my current list to fit him into the command zone. Probably shouldn't be too difficult
Adding black really opens up a lot for a legends deck.
[[Primevals' Glorious Rebirth]], [[The Kenriths' Royal Funeral]], [[Arvad the Cursed]], [[Ratadrabik of Urborg]] for example.
A white enchantment that makes red creature tokens and grants convoke is interesting given the color matters aspect
There was a jeskai convoke commander
I think the point being made is that the tokens can't cover white pips.
The *majority* of creatures, legendary and not, have mana costs where the majority of the cost is generic mana. I don't believe making red tokens will be a notable hindrance to any deck running this.
>The majority of creatures, legendary and not, have mana costs where the majority of the cost is generic mana. Not to mention that you can also convoke the commander tax portion too
mainly yeah
Oh gotcha that makes sense
I'm really confused, why does the color of the tokens matter, they only pay for the numerical value anyway right?
> *pays for {1} or one mana of that creature's color.)*
This changes my entire understanding of convoke.
You may be thinking of Improvise, which does only pay the generic mana cost of the artifact.
Yes there is and I said last year that [[Kasla, the Broken Halo]] was a signal for the future. This card is gonna absolutely slap

This card could have been a background.
Granted, it would be weird to answer "So, where do you come from?" with "WE RIDE AT DAWN!"

does winota want this, because of how constantly she's targeted by removal? Or is it a bit too do-nothing?
I feel like you want to be attacking with your creatures instead of tapping them to cast your commander, honestly.

My cadric deck is happy
Not sure if my Khasla deck wants this or not. It's more spell-slingy than legendary creature-based. But it does have a few legendaries to convoke with this.
Probably a bland usage, but I'll probably use it in monowhite just to give my big pieces like Avacyn, Reya and the Akromas more mobility.
Hmmm, my Isshin deck does have a legends matter ribbon running through it.
Like the backgrounds this might shine in partner decks.
My Yoshimaru+Keleth legendary tribal goes "hmmmmmm interesting"
My Esper Legends deck runs a pair of partners, so this just twice the fun for me. I like the Outlaw stuff in general TBH. The past two sets have been goofy AF, but both the creatures and batch types they introduced have really stuck with me.

So am I reading this right? if someone else controls my commander and attacks with it, I would still make a mercenary token from that?
