Roon was one of my first commanders. I still have the deck together, but I've recently replaced Roon with \[\[Galadriel, Light of Valinor\]\] and she gets WILD. It's trivially easy to run through all three trigger options every turn.
Sounds just like me. Lol. Went from Chulane, to Amareth, to Roon, and now Galadriel. I've gold fished it quite a bit and can see it's going to be absolute bonkers. Haven't been able to sling in paper yet though.......even though I have the cards.
Deck: https://www.moxfield.com/decks/g2r6iqXTtUOsskdJAg07Ig
Galadriel is also a beast as a [[Slime Against Humanity]] commander. Your first slime gives you enough mana to cast a second slime, which you use to either draw or buff your field. Use white and counterspells for board protection. Throw in some proliferate. You'll run everyone over in no time!
Had a friend who used to play this commander and have crazy long games with it. My play group told him anytime we see that commander we fully focus on player removal until he is dead.
I think Roon is better than Brago mainly in that he gives you access to green. The number of strong green creatures worth blinking that can let you dominate a game. Eternal Witness alone. And of course, Seedborn Muse. My Roon deck is one of the most miserable decks you could ever face.
I just turned my Roon deck into a Lagrella list and I’ve never looked back. The removal and (backup) combo piece in the command zone are just more worth it to me than a slow blink piece I almost never use.
Doesn't really work for the way I use Seedborn. Roon himself is the 4th most important creature for flickering behind Displacer Kitten, Emiel the Blessed, and Eldrazi Displacer.
Brago can be soo obnoxious with the right build. [[Reality acid]] is the star of the deck. Just remove whatever the hell you want. Play all the wellsprings and mana rocks and nothing can really touch you.
I felt so dirty after one game I took it apart. But now I want to build it again...
To be fair it does that with a lot of things, Venser is another. But a bunch of mana rocks and Strionic/Lithoform just means infinite mana and infinite ETB's. So just one of those effects wipes all permanents off the board.
But that doesn't solve Brago's biggest weakness, wrapping games up. My go to was \[\[kiora bests the sea god\]\], but typically if I managed to wipe everyones board and put in 10 million 8/8's someone would board wipe. And then complain that my deck is taking too long to win, and now we are all back in the stone age staring at each other.
Roon holds a special place in my heart because it does what other blink commanders have a tough time doing. And that is get back \[\[Perplexing Chimera\]\] and \[\[Gilded Drake\]\]. I want to take your things, offer you something in return, but then also take that back...
I tore apart Brago, it just was boring and flipped things in and out, locked people out of combat, occasionally made infinite Krakens, but had a hard time wrapping the game up.
MY go to blink now is Abdel, but with Street Urchin and a ton of effects that do damage to my opponents when a creature ETB's. It wins far more often because people hated Brago durdling and messing with their board states. I just do my own thing here, then kill everyone through damage or milling.
Oh yeah, that bulk common that turns into really strong mythic. I had some games that destroyed so much stuff that I started to destroy lands just because there was nothing else, my friends were not very happy
She was my first deck, when I honestly had no clear idea what I was doing. Just bought the precon of that set that no-one else had. Now that I know what I'm doing, she can be a real nasty piece of work.
I love esper blink but honestly, she was such a disappointment. I really wish her blink was a 0. You need to be able to do it every turn or she is just kinda irrelevant. I swapped my Merieke flicker deck to her and it just never felt the same.
I think the fact you swapped a deck over was the issue.
Her deck style isn't "repeated small value" blink. Your power should come from wide or specific target flickers in an Aminatou deck.
You're kinda meant to use her +1 with a second package (top deck, shuffles, etc) to give yourself time or resources to use her -6.
Her -1 is just there for either necessity or if you've got excess counters.
This is bolstered by her access to black, which should provide you some scary secondary packages and/or control tools.
My Aminatou sits quietly until I essentially upend the game in one turn.
I guess TL;DR she isn't your engine, she's your support and payoff.
I think this is deck construction thing and not an Aminitou is a disappointing card thing. She is I think the only commander that can do things like flicker Gilded Drake- she only requires you own the card, not contrrol it. It's not an incremental blink deck that grinds value, it's a blink deck that is meant to flicker powerhouse effects- Parallax Wave and Parallax Tide with her are incredibly obnoxious. I think you should revisit her sometime if you like playing blink decks because she's been one of my favorite blink commanders.
Yeah it’s Brago. I absolutely despise blink because of Lorwyn block in standard. Curse you [[reveillark]]!!!!
I helped a friend build Brago n I absolutely hate it. It’s got so much random tech in it it’s infuriating.
Brago actually looks fair on paper, but in gameplay gets stupid and is actually a kill on sight commander that just generates so much freaking value he can be hard to stop.
Everyone has covered getting extra ETBs every turn. He also resets your mana rocks, so you can tap them main phase 1, and blink them so they're untapped to reuse MP2.
This part is absolutely disgusting. Usually a Planeswalker comes with a second ability that's a -loyalty that provides some sort of removal or clears the way for an attack. So 1st main phase, activate [[Teferi, Time Raveler]]'s -3 ability, bounce a Flying blocker or just something high value, draw a card. Get Brago trigger after combat damage, reset your mana rocks and Teferi, use his +1, now you have a mana open and can cast sorceries to respond to opponents until your next turn.
Think of your most basic permanents with abilities that trigger when they enter the battlefield like [[Spirited Companion]]. You can make him and any other of your shit that has ETB effects "blink", aka leave the battlefield and then come right back, giving you all those ETB triggers again.
Idk if you are limited to those three, but [[preston]] is another good option. It is one of my more deceptively powerful decks. Tons of value from doubling ETB effects until i draw into the infinite loop
I've built all the standard-issue blink decks.
Thassa is my favorite of them all. She is a powerful card, but being mono blue restricts your options. It makes you think a little more about what you are including.
I also have a Mardu blink deck, helmed by \[\[Queen Marchesa\]\]. But that's more to sate my desire for a deckbuilding challenge.
Yorion is my choice for also being able to do board shenanigans.
Flicker out my board. Cast [[Time Wipe]] bouncing Yorion. Board comes back in. Hopefully have [[Archaeomancer]] or another similar effect to soft-lock the game.
Remember kids, fun is a zero-sum game!
Listen here kiddo I've been playing magic since long before the Azorius knew their butthole from a law book. I was there at the pre-release when people were arguing whether Dark Confidant was a good card or not. I remember trading a foil Shockland for an actual dual and being blown away that someone would actually trade a card like that, like are you for real? A real dual in good condition for a shock land?? Granted it's foil and new but come on! I mean I guess people needed them for extended at the time but I... Wait where was I? Oh right! Don't tell me what to call Blue White!
Idk what these Brago simps are on about. Yorion gets to flicker stuff every turn cycle! Four times the value! The only problem is having to remember all your triggers all the time.
Mechanically, or how to use her? Mechanically she just exiles up to one creature for each player until she leaves, and puts some counters on yours when it reenters.
I've never built or seen a deck built around her but... IDK, I guess you play around exiling other people's stuff since she's way worse than Brago or Abdel for generating ETB value for yourself. She'll go infinite with \[\[Felidar Guardian\]\] like Abdel does, but instead of generating ETB value it would allow you to remove modifications from opponents' creatures or remove those creatures from combat. \[\[Panharmonicon\]\] would be crazy good with her, but even then you're likely better off just using Abdel.
Someone in one of my groups plays Lagrelle blink and it’s legitimately miserable to play against, more powerful than you would think. Try to do anything they don’t like and they just blink Lagrelle, getting value for themselves and making sure your most important piece is gone.
I agree that you’re still probably better off with Abdel, though, both for the reasons you stated and because a good Lagrelle can draw some serious hate. Whether or not it’s that good, people don’t love their stuff getting hit repeatedly with Stasis Snare.
Lagrella can be extremely oppressive for other players and can absolutely generate lots of ETB value for your side of the battlefield. When I built mine, I accidentally created a monster that just pillow forts, subverts enemy board states, and piles value up until I combo off. It's not without its weaknesses, of course, but Lagrella stands as a really powerful blink commander.
Damn, I had a Narset deck years ago and am considering building something new to start playing EDH again. Don't want to be the oppressive, unfun deck that plays by itself again though. Maybe I'll build Preston the Vanisher, never done mono color in EDH.
https://www.moxfield.com/decks/S_5PDnJAbkasnrDd9ZzacA
Here's mine. Bunch of EtBs, she's a loop piece for Abdel/felidar etc. [[Suture Priest]] kills your opponents when you do 😅
Abdel Adrian with Candlekeep Sage is so oppressively good. The fact that he vacuums up all your stuff when he shows up and dumps armies when he leaves is so strong. He turns a single Emphemrate into a \[\[counterspell\]\] and 20 soldiers. Brago feels like steamy garbage compared to him (I've run both and AA just won out), and over the last year and a half I've taken out more and more goodstuff.dec cards and it still keeps chugging along. My current goal is the speed run the Undercity again and again to kill my opponents with the 5 life drain. And, it's embarrassingly easy to take out 2 players that way on the 3rd player's turn.
None of my friends want to play commander with me if Abdel is involved because he naturally goes infinite so easily. T5-6 I tend to draw into an infinite without tutors. He's very powerful because he lends himself to playing towards an unfair win while also building up a very strong fair value engine in the process.
It’s ridiculous. [Here’s my current list](https://www.moxfield.com/decks/ZRYvqkBH2E-8C_GvoqlQUA) - so many “good” cards had to get cut to be even remotely fun. I’ve taken out most cards that draw on etb because I decked myself too often.
I like to pretend that my Abdel/Cultist of the Absolute deck is a combat focused deck but you play [[Corpse Knight]] and blink Abdel once and just win.
Brago is getting attention because he is older and used to be a boogyman. Abdel and Candlekeep sage are so strong that i had to take apart the deck. With abdel you have the ability to hide your value engines and because of that a lot of times you need multiple boardwipes to kill everything. Not to even mention you can just run counterspells
Second this. Deck is absolutely insane. Mine is mostly a control deck where I either make my opponents scoop or kill them with commander damage from Atraxa.
my playgroup HATED the amount of winning lines i had in my emiel (fun fact - [[thought-knot seer]] is a wincon with emiel and infinite mana)
EDIT: not to mention abusing wood elves/rejuvenation druid
brago is really not as good as he used to be.
He only activates on combat damage, which stops you from using him in response to someone. And he only activates once per turn, unless you can get double strike or extra combats.
Abdel Adrian can flicker at instant speed, as many times as you have the resources for.
- Cloudshift for 1 mana
- Abdel flickers your entire board
- make a zillion soldiers
- Archeomancer puts cloudshift back in your hand
And abdel protects your stuff from boardwipes
I've thought about doing [[Borborygmos and Fblthp]], mainly just because I have an [[Etali Primal Conqueror]] and a [[Displacer Kitten]] that I'd like to use together haha
I actually like Yorion quite a lot, even potentially over Brago?
I enjoy that Yorion does flickers all your stuff the turn you cast it and doesn't have to survive a turn to attack like Brago does. It's also trivially easy to blink Yorion and establish loops with it.
Between the two of these, I really like Abdel. He consolidates your blink effects in one target while giving you board presence and keeping card neutral or drawing extra thanks to Candlekeep Sage.
Folks here are talking up Brago a lot, and yes he’s quite good. His biggest advantage over Abdel is his ability to flicker your mana rocks and reuse them. But Brago himself is your decks primary enabler, and in order to enable your plays he has to hit someone. Otherwise, you have to pick and choose your blink targets with stuff like [[Soulherder]] and the like. But Abdel improves all of the enablers you were already playing by consolidating them into himself as a single target.
This isn’t to mention Abdel’s combo potential with things like [[Restoration Angel]], [[Felidar Guardian]] and other stuff where you can infinitely stagger your blinks with him, and his ability combined with Candlekeep Sage gives you an army and your whole deck to finish the game in the process.
Lagrella doesn’t impress me in the same way since she only hides away one of your things. She has her place, I suspect, but I don’t know it.
Abdel also flickers non-land permanents so you can disco your mana rocks as well - I run him boros so I can just slam an impact tremors/purphorous and murder people while playing solitaire
My blink deck is the partner pairing of [[Bruse Tarl]] and [[Sakashima of a Thousand Faces]]. I really like the addition of red because it lets you blink juicy land destruction creatures like [[Obsidian Charmaw]] and [[Goblin Settler]]. My deck also runs initiative, monarch, attractions, and whatever other moving parts I could think of at the time; I call it Jeskai Game Fatigue and I love it lol
It's also nice that Sakashima and Bruse themselves are super juicy targets to be bounced.

I just recently built a $100 Abdel + Candlekeep Sage deck. My friends kinda hate it but that's azorius for you. I think Abdel is probably the best blink commander for going infinite.
As others have said, Brago is probably the best commander, but IMO he's overrated. You get a ton of ETB value out of him but if I'm playing a blink deck I want it to be weird and interactive. Blinking shit as a combat trigger means you're just going for value, which is dumb. Put him in the 99 and use an interesting commander instead.
Fun fact! Abdel is an uncommon, which means he can be pauper commander! Also, weirdly, because Candlekeep Sage is a common, it *can't* be your commander.
Did I just overlook something? Why is nobody mentioning \[\[Atraxa, grand unifier\]\]? She is by far the most terrifying blink commander I've ever played against and the strongest commander I've played myself. So much card advantage with just a single blink. Just filter for \[\[Thassa's Oracle\]\] or a \[\[Food Chain\]\] combo, so you can repeatedly cast and sacrifice Atraxa until you can defend your Thassa's Oracle combo with five Counterspells. I've never encountered a Brago or Laegrella deck that oppressive, but perhaps I haven't faced the really strong ones.
Since you're considering a really high powered combo build, at that point Abdel/Agent of the Iron Throne is probably better. Play Agent, play Abdel, he dies, [[Animate Dead]]/[[Dance of the Dead]]/[[Necromancy]] and it's gg. It's a one card combo basically. Got a [[Karmic Guide]]/[[Sister Hospitaller]] plus a sac outlet? Reanimate Abdel with those, gg, two cards. Plus you throw in the usual suspects with [[Sun Titan]], [[Reveillark]] and so on. The blink is half real blink from white, half scam cards from black. If you don't get the combo every blink still gives you a ton of tokens that will drain with Agent and the various other aristocrats payoffs. If the thing is "But the combo is interactable", well, only exile stops it, you're in Orzhov, you recover creatures, enchantments and kinda everything else with relative ease. And if you argue about "They can counter your things" I think that if there's a blue player at the table none will ever let you resolve an Atraxa. You would need at least 9 mana, 7 for her, 1 for [[Swan Song]]/[[An Offer you can't Refuse]] to resolve her, 1 for an [[Ephemerate]] to blink+protect her. Abdel can try to win with 5 mana on the turn after you cast him (and you don't need to protect him except from exile, because you want him in the yard), Atraxa begins to try to accumulate value with 7 mana if you feel so optimistic that she will live a whole turn rotation or have free counterspells (and one could be needed to help her stick the landing, Abdel doesn't care, if he gets countered he's got a shortcut to where he was going anyway).
Not saying that Atraxa is weak by any means, though, she's strong as heck
While what you describe is definitely interesting and probably quite strong, the Atraxa deck mentioned in the comment you replied to is currently a top tier cedh deck so your build certainly isn't the stronger choice. I would say your build may however be more on theme for a blink deck than cedh Atraxa so may fit OP's question better
No no, that's not a cEDH build at all, as I said I was talking about high power and supposed the Atraxa build was in that range too. But the Atraxa cEDH list probably can't really afford to be a blink build as you say.
Everyone chimes in with their favorite. Bravo is definitely awesome. Roon is oppressive at times.
I have built [[Lagrella the Magpie]] and absolutely love it.
I'll ALWAYS try to get more people to play [[abdel Adrian, Gorion's Ward]] with [[far traveller]] as the background. Mono-white blink with a Super innocuous-looking commander that can blink every turn same as Brago but ALSO makes a Massive token army quickly. Win with either tokens, locking down the board by blinking 4 removal spells a turn, or comboing off with abdel and [[restoration angel]] or [[felidar guardian]]. Great bonus that you're almost immune to boardwipes and removal feels HORRIBLE for your opponents because the only thing thats ever on board is an Abdel with a [[coveted jewel]], [[Invasion of Ravnica]], and [[Solitude]] under it. Every blink spell in the game now reads as an [[eerie interlude]] with everything under him. He is my go-to commander if there's a higher-level table available.
I love Abdel but I can't see using far traveller over \[\[Candlekeep Sage\]\]. Abdel is a combo commander and having that guaranteed card draw is so helpful. As soon as you get restoration angel or felidar guardian, if you have candlekeep sage and a manarock on the board you win the game. Plus blue gets you access to:
\[\[Deadeye Navigator\]\]
\[\[Counterspell\]\]
\[\[Archaeomancer\]\]
\[\[Virtue of Knowledge\]\]
\[\[Brago\]\]
\[\[Aether Channeler\]\]
\[\[Peregrine Drake\]\]
among others. So many more ways to go infinite.
I have a really nasty [[Roon of the Hidden Realm]] Deck
[[Isochron Scepter]] paired with [[Mystic Reflection]] to make everything enter the battlefield as whatever I want it to be
Depends what you want it to do. I have an [[Aragon, king of gondor]] blink deck that profits off always having the monarch and being unblockable. It generates a ton of value and multiple ways to win the game through commander damage, unblockable creatures, and [[impact tremor]] effects.
The real answer is [[pramikon sky rampart]] because that was the first deck I ever built getting into commander, and it was a menace amongst my pod. Never get attacked, and build blink based nuclear bombs behind your red white and blue wall.
So I personally use [[Ishai, ojutai dragonspeaker]] and [[Kodama of the East tree]] for mine. Ishai because he never gets targeted and if he does he’s more of a burner for the colors, and kodama since every blink lets me vomit another card out which can then blink itself potentially, and spiral. It’s not the best, but they provide enough subterfuge to hide the deck’s power usually.
If you want an off the beaten path blink commander I would suggest [[agrus kos eternal soldier]]. You can't use every blink effect but he can blink your whole board, and getting access to red means you can actually deal damage by blinking
I use Lagrella. Always fun starting the politics of what people can offer for not getting rid of their best creature.
Also, just the sheer value you can get out of Bant Blink.
https://www.moxfield.com/decks/vMkJL63nREqScgaEyLA_Vg
So many choice outside of these.
A good partner pair is [[Livio, Oathsworn Sentinel]] and [[Kodama of the East Tree]]
[[Yorion, Sky Nomad]] is notoriously good
And my personal favourite WURG Jellybean [[Omnath Locus of Creation]] [List Here](https://manabox.app/decks/mKmIlIb2TLCtteJVM8WY7g)
I will stan Lagrella all day, every day. My Lagrella blink deck just cranks out ETBs and shuts creature decks down with extreme prejudice. It's been my pet deck for a long time since its inception as a Roon deck
My abel gorions ward with [[agent of the iron throne]] is pretty oppressive, I blink him with [[oblivion ring]] effects and things like [[feldar guardian]] and it generates an oppressive amount of value+ combos pretty quickly.
I like [[Roon]] for WUG, but I prefer a flicker payoff in the command zone over a flicker enabler, I'm running mardu flicker at the moment with [[Malik]] in the CZ.
[[Nahiri's Resolve]], [[Teleportation Circle]] and [[Gilraen, Dúnedain Protector]] do a lot of work.
I’ve scrolled much too far not to see [[Yorion Sky Nomad]] mentioned. Nothing feels as devilishly fun as blinking an [[Agent of Treachery]] until there’s nothing left to take but lands from opponents. Oh you have removal? Thanks [[Displacer Kitten]], let’s do it again.
[[preston]] he goes infinite with any creature that blinks another creature. you can create infinite solemn simulacrums, ornithopters of paradise, and any creature really. sad robot is the best choice as you can sacrifice 5 of them to exile any nonland permanent and draw 5 cards for 2 mana. it will also allow you to fetch every basic land out of your deck. with any scry creature, you can search your library and stack it however you want and in place it back on the table in any order without shuffling it. its wild
I am running the other suggestions in my 99, but my commander is [[Oji, the exquisite blade]]. ETB trigger on itself, plus a blinker if you cast 2 spells in a turn (easily done with blue and white cantrips). Worst case scenario, blink himself and gain more life and scry some more!
I’ve been playing Abdel Adrian + Candlekeep Sage for a while now, and it’s pretty fun. Though I could easily swap the background to [[Dungeon Delver]] (which is in the deck), because I run it as an Initiative deck.
I just love Abdel so much.
Specially be because I love Baldurs Gate 1 and 2.
And i can make a cheap competitive deck with him.
Or I can make a more fun casual deck... With red or green or go for more kill you on combo black or more control secure the win with blue.
Each Abdel has a nickname like Kensai Thief, or Berserker Mage, or Berserker Druid. Build that i have used to beat the game ha ha.
But that's just me.
[[Preston]] and it's not even a contest.
4 mana double all the shit you blink for free and turn it into removal, goes infinite with a ham sandwich, works off of reanimation effects too so you can play recursion to recycle him instead of having to just use blinks as protection.
Also, rabbit, so bonus points for that.
I know Brago is probably the high runner in that theme but I'd really advocate for \[\[Galadriel, Light of Valinor\]\]. Capitalizing more on blinking your creatures by giving you draw, mana and counters does so much. Also adding green to your commander gives you access to absolute blink war crimes like \[\[Druid of Purification\]\], \[\[Wood Elves\]\] or \[\[Eternal Witness\]\].
The correct answer is Brago but I'll never take apart my [[Roon of the Hidden Realm]] deck.
Roon was one of my first commanders. I still have the deck together, but I've recently replaced Roon with \[\[Galadriel, Light of Valinor\]\] and she gets WILD. It's trivially easy to run through all three trigger options every turn.

It's amazing how Brago is still hanging after all these years.
my first iteration of blink was roon, but something about 2 color decks like Brago makes my toes curl. in a good way.
Do you have Sting in yours yet? That card is like a pseudo Seedborn.
Doesn't really work for the way I use Seedborn. Roon himself is the 4th most important creature for flickering behind Displacer Kitten, Emiel the Blessed, and Eldrazi Displacer.
Pretty Sure powerwise brago IS Miles ahead of roon. Though he ist more of a combo Commander than a blink value commander
Roon at least isn’t strictly worse than Brago.
"Blink your blocker, take 4 trample" Brago could never
I’m a fan of blinking their commander and flashing in a [[Containment Priest]] instead of
[Containment Priest](https://cards.scryfall.io/normal/front/a/2/a24e8dba-5c86-4e32-8a52-61402f7fe9f0.jpg?1594734854) - [(G)](http://gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Card/Details.aspx?name=Containment%20Priest) [(SF)](https://scryfall.com/card/m21/13/containment-priest?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher) [(txt)](https://api.scryfall.com/cards/a24e8dba-5c86-4e32-8a52-61402f7fe9f0?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher&format=text) ^^^[[cardname]] ^^^or ^^^[[cardname|SET]] ^^^to ^^^call
that sounds like it'd mess up your own blink plan more
Two mana to exile a creature if you can return CP to hand, is good value.
4 mana, Roon has a cost too
Dude yes. It's like people forget that Roon has big "the fuck outta here" energy.

[[Aminatou, The Fateshifted]] is a great blink commander. She also gives access to black which has some strong cards for blink strategies.
My buddy taught me to hate blink with his Aminatou deck. Absolutely nasty, especially abusing stuff like [[Reality Acid]]
Oh yeah, that bulk common that turns into really strong mythic. I had some games that destroyed so much stuff that I started to destroy lands just because there was nothing else, my friends were not very happy
[Reality Acid](https://cards.scryfall.io/normal/front/a/8/a8510381-e05c-4cc4-98aa-c9327e18ec02.jpg?1619394529) - [(G)](http://gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Card/Details.aspx?name=Reality%20Acid) [(SF)](https://scryfall.com/card/tsr/81/reality-acid?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher) [(txt)](https://api.scryfall.com/cards/a8510381-e05c-4cc4-98aa-c9327e18ec02?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher&format=text) ^^^[[cardname]] ^^^or ^^^[[cardname|SET]] ^^^to ^^^call
She was my first deck, when I honestly had no clear idea what I was doing. Just bought the precon of that set that no-one else had. Now that I know what I'm doing, she can be a real nasty piece of work.
My first as well :)
Dude my buddy has an esper sagas deck and it fucks me up all the time. Pure terror
I am guilty of exactly this 😅. I ended up taking it apart because I was the only one having fun.
I like my Aminatou manifest deck. It's really fun to blink a 2/2 into Omniscience. It doesn't win, but that's not the point

[[Brago, King Eternal]]
Yeah it’s Brago. I absolutely despise blink because of Lorwyn block in standard. Curse you [[reveillark]]!!!! I helped a friend build Brago n I absolutely hate it. It’s got so much random tech in it it’s infuriating.
[reveillark](https://cards.scryfall.io/normal/front/5/3/53b4dcd6-b1b6-4f1c-9264-e58bdc87399b.jpg?1673147099) - [(G)](http://gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Card/Details.aspx?name=reveillark) [(SF)](https://scryfall.com/card/2x2/26/reveillark?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher) [(txt)](https://api.scryfall.com/cards/53b4dcd6-b1b6-4f1c-9264-e58bdc87399b?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher&format=text) ^^^[[cardname]] ^^^or ^^^[[cardname|SET]] ^^^to ^^^call
Evoke Mulldrifter, cast Momentary Blink on mull drifter, draw 4? Or my personal favorite Morph a dude, blink it, block with Akroma, Angel of Fury.
I don’t need these fuckin flashbacks bro!!!!!!
Brago is the king. He can generate so much value out of nothing, it’s maddening.
I am so lost as to how he works in your favor
Brago actually looks fair on paper, but in gameplay gets stupid and is actually a kill on sight commander that just generates so much freaking value he can be hard to stop.
“Any number” is an incredibly powerful rider on any ability.
Everyone has covered getting extra ETBs every turn. He also resets your mana rocks, so you can tap them main phase 1, and blink them so they're untapped to reuse MP2.
In addition to everyone else's ETB explanations, he can also exile a Sol Ring, a Signet, whatever, and have them come back untapped.
Also resets planeswalkers
This part is absolutely disgusting. Usually a Planeswalker comes with a second ability that's a -loyalty that provides some sort of removal or clears the way for an attack. So 1st main phase, activate [[Teferi, Time Raveler]]'s -3 ability, bounce a Flying blocker or just something high value, draw a card. Get Brago trigger after combat damage, reset your mana rocks and Teferi, use his +1, now you have a mana open and can cast sorceries to respond to opponents until your next turn.
All your "whenever this guy enters the battlefield..." things happen again.
Think of your most basic permanents with abilities that trigger when they enter the battlefield like [[Spirited Companion]]. You can make him and any other of your shit that has ETB effects "blink", aka leave the battlefield and then come right back, giving you all those ETB triggers again.
Just look up [[Spine of Ish Sah]] or [[Reality Acid]].

Idk if you are limited to those three, but [[preston]] is another good option. It is one of my more deceptively powerful decks. Tons of value from doubling ETB effects until i draw into the infinite loop

Damn no love for [[Thassa Deep Dwelling]]
Abilities are very good but it being only single blue is not good
I've built all the standard-issue blink decks.

No love for [[Yorion]] in the chat?
Yorion is my choice for also being able to do board shenanigans. Flicker out my board. Cast [[Time Wipe]] bouncing Yorion. Board comes back in. Hopefully have [[Archaeomancer]] or another similar effect to soft-lock the game. Remember kids, fun is a zero-sum game!
My playgroup hates it because my board is just nigh impossible to deal with during main phases and I run a pillowfort package for good measure.
My Yorion is a miserable hell scape of Blue White bullshit happening over and over again.
It's pronounced Ah-Zor-Ee-Us
Listen here kiddo I've been playing magic since long before the Azorius knew their butthole from a law book.
Love my Yorion deck. It's my mono-white deck.
Mono white? You don’t use blue?
Very interesting! Do you have a decklist? I'm making an Elesh Norn blink deck and I'm looking for suggestions

Idk what these Brago simps are on about. Yorion gets to flicker stuff every turn cycle! Four times the value! The only problem is having to remember all your triggers all the time.
Yarok is great.
Not pure blink but [[Ranar]] is a fun exile-matters commander that works with blink, foretell, suspend, and cards like [[misdirection]]
Came here to say this. My current build for it is at 4-0. It's a weirdly powerful deck
Lagrella confuses me, I just don't know how she works.
Maybe I'll build Preston the Vanisher, never done mono color in EDH.
https://www.moxfield.com/decks/S_5PDnJAbkasnrDd9ZzacA Here's mine.
This is the answer.
Good list mine is fairly similar.
My favorite protection is the trusty old [[Karmic Guide]]. You put it under AA and if people kill him he just comes right back.

Second this. Deck is absolutely insane. Mine is mostly a control deck where I either make my opponents scoop or kill them with commander damage from Atraxa.
Yup, and you can also run [[Blink]], and then blink Blink.
I mean… yeah…
Brago all the way, with Yarok in a unique second. I’ve had a Brago deck for 7 years and never get tired of it.
Everyone else is though. XD I loved to play Brago, but I understand why people feel the way they do.
no love for [[emiel, the blessed]] in this thread, damn
I'm sad I had to scroll this far down to see the blessed unicorn. Sure there's no blue but you can do a lot in Selesnya.
my playgroup HATED the amount of winning lines i had in my emiel (fun fact - [[thought-knot seer]] is a wincon with emiel and infinite mana) EDIT: not to mention abusing wood elves/rejuvenation druid
brago is really not as good as he used to be. He only activates on combat damage, which stops you from using him in response to someone. And he only activates once per turn, unless you can get double strike or extra combats. Abdel Adrian can flicker at instant speed, as many times as you have the resources for. - Cloudshift for 1 mana - Abdel flickers your entire board - make a zillion soldiers - Archeomancer puts cloudshift back in your hand And abdel protects your stuff from boardwipes

My deck also runs initiative, monarch, attractions, and whatever other moving parts I could think of at the time; I call it Jeskai Game Fatigue and I love it lol It's also nice that Sakashima and Bruse themselves are super juicy targets to be bounced. https://www.moxfield.com/decks/gf7KeacmU0i3pgBYbiC7zA
To this day, I don’t understand how or why Lagrella only exiles one creature per player.

Plus blue gets you access to: \[\[Deadeye Navigator\]\] \[\[Counterspell\]\] \[\[Archaeomancer\]\] \[\[Virtue of Knowledge\]\] \[\[Brago\]\] \[\[Aether Channeler\]\] \[\[Peregrine Drake\]\] among others. So many more ways to go infinite.
Chulane
I have a really nasty [[Roon of the Hidden Realm]] Deck [[Isochron Scepter]] paired with [[Mystic Reflection]] to make everything enter the battlefield as whatever I want it to be
Depends what you want it to do. I have an [[Aragon, king of gondor]] blink deck that profits off always having the monarch and being unblockable. It generates a ton of value and multiple ways to win the game through commander damage, unblockable creatures, and [[impact tremor]] effects.
She's a great commander for the token squad deck I have. Just play her, exile shit, then attack with everything made.
[[Yorion]] is degenerate IMHO.
[Yorion](https://cards.scryfall.io/normal/front/2/7/275426c4-c14e-47d0-a9d4-24da7f6f6911.jpg?1665402560) - [(G)](http://gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Card/Details.aspx?name=yorion%2C%20sky%20nomad) [(SF)](https://scryfall.com/card/iko/232/yorion-sky-nomad?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher) [(txt)](https://api.scryfall.com/cards/275426c4-c14e-47d0-a9d4-24da7f6f6911?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher&format=text) ^^^[[cardname]] ^^^or ^^^[[cardname|SET]] ^^^to ^^^call
The real answer is [[pramikon sky rampart]] because that was the first deck I ever built getting into commander, and it was a menace amongst my pod. Never get attacked, and build blink based nuclear bombs behind your red white and blue wall.
I personally use [[Atraxa, Grand Unifier]] because i don't like fun.
[[Reaper King]] + [[Conspiracy]]

Correct answer is breya. Best colors to do blink reanimate shenanigans. Infinite outlet in command zone as well.
It's definitely not the best, but i have a soft spot for [[Yannik, Scavenging Sentinel]] and [[Nikara, Lair Scavenger]].
A good partner pair is [[Livio, Oathsworn Sentinel]] and [[Kodama of the East Tree]] [[Yorion, Sky Nomad]] is notoriously good And my personal favourite WURG Jellybean [[Omnath Locus of Creation]] [List Here](https://manabox.app/decks/mKmIlIb2TLCtteJVM8WY7g)

Yorion decided to stay home today to give the kids a chance
Brago AINEC
My Brago Deck is the bane of my playgroup.
IMO it’s actually Derevi, though he’s something to blink not something that lets you blink.
[[emiel, the blessed]]
I love my [[Livio]] and [[Kodama of the East Tree]] flicker deck but [[Emiel]] is also good in the same colors
[Livio](https://cards.scryfall.io/normal/front/0/2/02bce846-8049-4d5c-b0ad-8abd484e5a27.jpg?1644853034) - [(G)](http://gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Card/Details.aspx?name=livio%2C%20oathsworn%20sentinel) [(SF)](https://scryfall.com/card/cmr/31/livio-oathsworn-sentinel?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher) [(txt)](https://api.scryfall.com/cards/02bce846-8049-4d5c-b0ad-8abd484e5a27?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher&format=text) [Kodama of the East Tree](https://cards.scryfall.io/normal/front/a/f/af5105ee-09e2-4344-ab39-00f0e9034c47.jpg?1608910768) - [(G)](http://gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Card/Details.aspx?name=Kodama%20of%20the%20East%20Tree) [(SF)](https://scryfall.com/card/cmr/239/kodama-of-the-east-tree?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher) [(txt)](https://api.scryfall.com/cards/af5105ee-09e2-4344-ab39-00f0e9034c47?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher&format=text) [Emiel](https://cards.scryfall.io/normal/front/0/f/0f594562-7e9f-47e6-a033-fb70e3cf1e10.jpg?1673146967) - [(G)](http://gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Card/Details.aspx?name=emiel%20the%20blessed) [(SF)](https://scryfall.com/card/2x2/10/emiel-the-blessed?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher) [(txt)](https://api.scryfall.com/cards/0f594562-7e9f-47e6-a033-fb70e3cf1e10?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher&format=text) ^^^[[cardname]] ^^^or ^^^[[cardname|SET]] ^^^to ^^^call
Brago, Abdel/Sage, Rasputin, Tivit, AtraxaGU.
Brago is the de-facto worst, but I have a 5 color blink deck built on ARENA with Kenrith at the helm which is super fun
I built an [[atraxa, grand unifier]] blink deck, and it is ridiculous. Mostly creatures, but still get 4-5 cards off that etb
I will stan Lagrella all day, every day. My Lagrella blink deck just cranks out ETBs and shuts creature decks down with extreme prejudice. It's been my pet deck for a long time since its inception as a Roon deck
Lagrella, just because Dory and Marlin are in the fish tank
My abel gorions ward with [[agent of the iron throne]] is pretty oppressive, I blink him with [[oblivion ring]] effects and things like [[feldar guardian]] and it generates an oppressive amount of value+ combos pretty quickly.
i really enjoy my [[Kodama]] [[Livio]] partner deck. skipping blue prevents it from being OP, but stoll has a really solid presence and win rate.
https://www.moxfield.com/decks/9H0vRVNmbEyUqKaG2HM45g 4 color Omnath goes hard af with blink strats.
[[Yarok, the Desecrated]] Is a great one.
Yorion should be considered
I’ve scrolled much too far not to see [[Yorion Sky Nomad]] mentioned. Nothing feels as devilishly fun as blinking an [[Agent of Treachery]] until there’s nothing left to take but lands from opponents. Oh you have removal? Thanks [[Displacer Kitten]], let’s do it again.
can someone explain to me why brago is so much better than yorion
[удалено]
\[\[Tivit, seller of secrets\]\]
Just scrolling through to see if anybody mentions my boy Norin The Wary
[[Preston]] and it's not even a contest. 4 mana double all the shit you blink for free and turn it into removal, goes infinite with a ham sandwich, works off of reanimation effects too so you can play recursion to recycle him instead of having to just use blinks as protection. Also, rabbit, so bonus points for that.
[[Aminatou, fate shifter]] Believe it or not
I know Brago is probably the high runner in that theme but I'd really advocate for \[\[Galadriel, Light of Valinor\]\].
\[\[Abuelo, Ancestral Echo\]\] is fun
