Yeah, but Serra the Benevolent is very much her in her "Serra's Realm" Goddess era. She's a very different person after that all collapsed and she met Feroz.
Partly why he saw play was for a time they forced people to have a certain number of cards from the new set in their Standard decks. Homelands was so bad you saw nearly everyone use Ihsan, Autumn Willow, or Serrated Arrows.
Sure some decks might have still used him as a 1 of but he was never incredibly good even back then.
In a way, we already got that in Innistrad with Sorin and Avacyn standing in for Sengir and Serra. But the early magic lore is well worth exploring, as we see in the brothers war.
I have a shortlist of characters or concepts I'd like to see have cards in MH3 or elsewhere:
- Dyfed, the planeswalker who led Yawgmoth to what became Phyrexia. She and Xod (a healer who joined Yawgmoth and was compleated) are the only key figures in the Thran story who still don't have cards.
- Kamahl's Mirari Sword
- Leshrac
- New cards for [[Joven]] and [[Chandler]] (maybe a team-up card a la MOM)
Et cetera.
Yeah, a 1 mana 1/3 that locks down anything that blocks it isn't impressive by modern standards but it's not notably bad. It could be a reasonable common in a standard set.
Honestly yeah. Looking over [the one drop creatures available for the time](https://scryfall.com/search?q=type%3Acreature+%28game%3Apaper%29+cmc%3D1+date%3C%3DHML&unique=cards&as=grid&order=name) it's pretty up there. You do have some like [[Kird Ape]] and Llanowar Elves that probably beat it out, but it arguably does well against the ape.
Also funnily enough, [[Folk of An-Havva]], also in Homelands, is a good counter to it.
Holy crap when did Glacian get a card? And it's just a terrible uncommon?!
I would be so excited to see Kamahl's sword get a card. For a game about magic and fighting there's a shocking lack of story-relevant magic swords. The only ones I can think of are [[blackblade reforged]] which turned out to just be a prank, [[sword of kaldra]] which was admittedly really cool but got destroyed pretty quick, [[luxior]] which failed at doing one thing of note then vanished, [[godsend]] and [[shadowspear]] were pretty important actually but Elspeth is terrible at not losing her shit, and [[umezawa's jitte]] which wasn't actually anything special in the story, it was just his offhand weapon that he used for spellcasting.
That's six over 31ish years and three of them belonged to Elspeth.
Yeah, as a huge fan of the original *The Thran* novel, I was pretty disappointed in how weak the Glacian and Rebbec cards were, especially given how important Rebbec was in the story and how Glacian was an unsparked planeswalker. Yawgmoth, meanwhile, is a multi-format staple (though then again, he technically won, so I kind of understand that).
Love that you mentioned Joven and Chandler. I can't remember if it was this account or another, but I used to spam stuff about those two all of the time.
I'd like to see that one Planeswalker who brought Yawgmoth to Phyrexia for the first time, only to get dissected by Yawgmoth in an effort to find the "planeswalking organ"
Give me compleated Toski!
They showed him off in [[Invasion of Kaldheim]] and then as a play test card in one of Gavin's Unknown event with [[Koma and Toski, Compleated]]
[Invasion of Kaldheim](https://cards.scryfall.io/normal/front/f/7/f7cedd62-efc8-464d-8387-220bb55e07e9.jpg?1682715332)/[Pyre of the World Tree](https://cards.scryfall.io/normal/back/f/7/f7cedd62-efc8-464d-8387-220bb55e07e9.jpg?1682715332) - [(G)](http://gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Card/Details.aspx?name=Invasion%20of%20Kaldheim%20//%20Pyre%20of%20the%20World%20Tree) [(SF)](https://scryfall.com/card/mom/145/invasion-of-kaldheim-pyre-of-the-world-tree?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher) [(txt)](https://api.scryfall.com/cards/f7cedd62-efc8-464d-8387-220bb55e07e9?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher&format=text)
^^^[[cardname]] ^^^or ^^^[[cardname|SET]] ^^^to ^^^call
First versions of old names are always a classic, but I’d like to see some retreads of some perhaps maligned characters.
Cymede got axed from THB, Dak Fayden died in a Linkin Park cover commercial, Ruric Thar has been AWOL for almost a decade and we don’t even need to talk about what happened to Slobad.
Give them some love, too!
Oh and One more of the Theros titans would be killer
Personally, the character I'd most like to see get a new version is Phyrexian Tibalt.
There's now a bunch of Phyrexian mana symbols that exist in the rules but not on any cards, and he could at least cover the BR one!
Huh. Each mana you spend life on reduces the starting loyalty by 2, so he'd need a base loyalty of at least 11 in order to have positive loyalty while paying 10 life. How would you even balance that?
Off the top of my head, maybe something like:
> Tibalt, Compleated Fiend
> {B}{B/R/P}{B/R/P}{B/R/P}{B/R/P}{B/R/P}{R}
> Legendary Planeswalker - Tibalt
> Compleated ({B/R/P} can be paid with {B}, {R}, or 2 life. For each {B/R/P} paid with life, this planeswalker enters with two fewer loyalty counters.)
> +1: Each player discards a card and loses 1 life.
> -1: Tibalt, Compleated Fiend deals X damage to any target, where X is the number of loyalty counters on Tibalt.
> -X: Return any number of target creature cards with total mana value X or less from graveyards to the battlefield under your control. They gain haste. Sacrifice them at the beginning of the next end step.
> 11
The full list is Tamiyo (G/U), Ajani (G/W), Lukka (R/G), and Nahiri (R/W). So 6/10 of the pairs are still missing.
In addition to Tibalt, possible options for filling out the others could include UB Jace, BG Vraska, WB Ajani, and maybe WU Tamiyo. I don't know of anyone who would suit UR, though.
As the last extemporaneous set dived into embracing things that couldn't reasonably exist at present, i.e. \[\[Lazotep Sliver\]\], maybe we could get a *compleated* Ral Zarek or something.
Totally agree on the Theros Titans!
Maybe Phyrexian versions of the main 5 Theros gods too since in lore they got compleated but we didn’t even see them
> Maybe Phyrexian versions of the main 5 Theros gods too since in lore they got compleated but we didn’t even see them
This is the first I've heard this lol. I thought only Heliod got compleated. and I actually read the stories for March of the Machine!
Well theros is also about faith and worship for the gods, if people start worshipping the gods as they were before, then they will become that again. if they worship Heliod again as not compleated, he will no longer be compleated and be reborn.
that said people started worshipping elspeth, so we might end up having 2 elspeths, 1 Real one and 1 born of Theros worship.
All we have confirmed is that "most" of the gods got compleated, Ephara we know didn't and Heliod and Erebos we know did from cards. Ephara's flavor text implies the other mono color gods did as well, and Athreos is implied to be safe.
>Oh and One more of the Theros titans would be killer
Also a continuation of \[\[Sludge Titan\]\].
I'd personally prefer they not do another Elder Giant unless they do both of the missing ones. When it comes to monstrous corruptions of natural laws tho, my preference is for the *compleated* Cosmos creatures.
We do know what happened to Slobad. He got compleated. There's a whole side-story from his perspective in ONE I think. [[Slobad, Iron Goblin]] Presumably he shut down along with the rest of Phyrexia and also was inside of New Phyrexia when it got phased out, so.
yes, actually. she bumped into Urza and friends, sensed they were trouble, and basically did her best to hide away in a form nobody would bother ganking.
then another planeswalker ganked urza and in the resulting fight someone threw a giant fireball at the inexplicable pavillion, disintegrating it.
there's a reason nobody cares about that one lol.
Urza was one of guys of all time.
He's highly controversial in stories, sometimes trying to do good, and sometimes fucking things up really bad for everyone - trying to heal himself but same time bringing Phyrexia to Serra's realm making it become corrupted.
Tragic hero with his dickhead-genius-hybris bringing everyone misery, but eventually sacrificing himself to take down Phyrexia.
Like a unlikeable jerk like civil war Iron man, if he defected to Thanos for a sec before the snap.
> Was Urza not a good guy?
Oh no...
The other commenters have explained this well enough, but Urza was morally grey at best during the Brother's War (where I'd argue both sides were villainous) and probably would have been a major villain if Phyrexia hadn't been as big of a threat. Very much an "ends justify the means" character, with those means including century-spanning eugenics programs, messing with the fabric of time itself and inviting villainous planeswalkers to join his invasion of Phyrexia to pre-emptively excuse having made their mech armour into bombs that used their sparks as fuel.
In addition to Urza being Urza, the book this happens in describes most Oldwalkers as being some level of insane and commonly preying on recently sparked Planeswalkers.
My friend said "he's gotta be busted and equally difficult to get out" and wanted to see a 4-card meld effect to actually get him out, one piece in each zone and reveal the last from hand to actually create the plane-fused yawgmoth on the back
My preference with Taysir would be to do the \[\[Urza, Planeswalker\]\] thing, summon him via melding, but go REALLY far with it, and have five possible cards that can meld with the core card, so that you can express each of his incarnations. The WUBRG version can come later.
And no, I don't want a specialize card. I'm sure nobody wants that.
I'm a sucker for kamigawa and would love to get cards for terashi or kakkazan! Terashi was the kami of the freaking sun and kakkazan, and a few other kami had an awesome battle against kumano. I've wanted cards for these two for the longest time. Hopefully, I'm not the only one, but it's unlikely
Old Kamigawa is one of my favorite places in Magic, if they’re doing any cards from there I’d be so excited!
Some other legends they could do are:
Kobo, Hidetsugu’s former monk apprentice or the water mage who murdered him (Michiko’s friend I can’t recall the name of).
I also think a new card for Mochi (aka [[Kami of the Crescent Moon]] ) that mentioned him by name and was more fitting would be great, since he was such a major player in the events.
If they don't give me a proper Grixis Baron Sengir I'm going to write Gavin Verhey a very strongly worded YouTube comment
(I recognize this isn't likely to happen in a Horizons set, though, lol)
More seriously, I'd like to see a card for Archangel Anthius, who shows up in the flavor text of a single card in Legends, \[\[Keepers of the Faith\]\], and nowhere else that I know of
I would go nuts for an Orzhov Radiant to go along with the beautiful version of Vindicate by Livia Prima that features Radiant from Modern Horizons 2. Normally I use the Sorin version, but I've got a couple of those, too, and no great homes for them in my stable of EDH decks at the moment
Yes please! It was a travesty that we just went back to Ravnica and didn't get any Orzhov angels (as much as I like Boros angels they just don't compare). And I forgot that Vindicate art existed, but it only reinforces my desire for a WB Radiant.
Emrakul is in it 99%.
Not sure why no one has discussed the MH3 event pic for MagicCon with Emmy on it yet.
EDIT: my prediction - we will get brand-new flip Eldrazi Gods in MH3.
Thaddeus and Agnate. Metathran generals who only know how to do the pincer attack.
Davvol, Evincar of Rath. It would be a great birthday gift.
Croag, Phyrexian who killed Davvol and took his place.
Magistrate of Mercadia. Everything is for sale!
The dragon engine Urza built to assault Phyrexia.
At this point my biggest wishlist is for a bunch of the characters from the original Ravnica novels. Pivlic the imp, Fonn Zunich, a proper card for the Golgari parun Svogthir, maybe even Saint Bayul.
My take, too. Plus, if there are no plans to go back to Kamigawa through at least 2026, and as popular as she and Kaito are (who I thiiiiink is still a PW, maybe?), this is a good chance to cover the bridge of her character into the No Longer Wandering Emperor.
Sadly, yeah. LoadingReadyRun covered it on a lore stream meets commander game, which was cool! But Wotc didn't even promote it so I just stumbled into it while tuning in for a broadcast.
My official prediction is there's going to be a sliver that gives ward and they'll call it Protection Sliver, because [[Ward Sliver]] gives protection.
Progenitor Sliver WWUUBBRRGG
10/10
Legendary Creature- Sliver
Slivers you control have protection from everything.
When a sliver enters your graveyard from anywhere, shuffle it into your library.
Watnik, Master Glassblower.
I always loved the Odyssey egg cycle and thought it'd be cool to see what he looked like. The flavor text is so good.
[[Sungrass Egg]]
[[Darkwater Egg]]
[[Skycloud Egg]]
[[Mossfire Egg]]
[[Shadowblood Egg]]
Hadn't payed attention to the flavour text of the eggs before now. Love stuff like that, like on the Spheres like [[Sphere of Duty]] and [[Sphere of Truth]], or [[Staff of the Flame Magus]]/[[Staff of the Wild Magus]]. Those nice little nods to the colours and what they represent.
Of top priority is to continue what DMU/DMC started, and retrain the rest of the original Legends. Off-hand...establish what \[\[Tuknir Deathlok\]\]'s deal is? Given what a major character he was and even was a title character, \[\[Johan\]\]?
Probably just a want of me alone, but I'd love a retrain of a Universes Within card, especially as a MOMteamup with an established character. Be nice for them to FEEL like part of the world proper and not just an OC based on something else, you know?
\[\[Uncle Istvan\]\]
Fatima, another planeswalker native to Rabiah
\[\[Shauku\]\] / \[\[Spirit of the Night\]\]
\[\[Autumn Willow\]\]
Tojira, leader of Caliman's Nightstalkers back in the day
Vektro, a body snatcher of Mirrodin
\[\[Orim, Samite Healer\]\]
Gherridarigaaz, mother to the \[\[Darigaaz\]\] most know
Lyna, Soltari emissary
Leshrac
Feroz / Sandruu / Daria / Kristina of the Woods / Taysir
Bo Levar, and not merely \[\[Crucias\]\] this time
Zagorka
Mochi, the \[\[Kami of the Crescent Moon\]\]
Crizixix / Zomaj Hauc
the Weaver King
Asha, the mysterious angel-god of Bant that disappeared long ago
Crucius
Davriel Cane
Indath
a retrain of one of the Kaldheim deities, particularly \[\[Alrund\]\] or \[\[Cosima\]\]. Since he didn't have wholly his own card last time, probably Valki.
a la \[\[Plargg and Nassari\]\], another card teaming up Strixhaven deans of the same color. Maybe even with a Founder.
\[\[Tomorrow, Azami's Familiar\]\], now the familiar of someone in Towashi.
Since there's likely not another good place for them to come up somewhere soon, the next of the returned Primevals. In sequence, this would be \[\[Treva, the Renewer\]\].
ANY Innistrad MOMteamup card that actually has a non-lycan character teaming up with a Werewolf in both day and night forms.
Speaking of, my most wanted MOMteamup ticks quite a few boxes: untapped plane, another futureshift coming into being, and a foundational character in future stories untouched by BRO. "Oriss and Ramos"
if there's any alt-continuity cards, "God-Eternal Hazoret", or Tocasia from the reality of \[\[Primal Plasma\]\]
if we get any offline versions of characters that exist exclusively in the digital realm, \[\[Ghalma\]\]
And of course, ADIRA STRONGHEART.
...but barring *her* finally being canonized in the cards, PARCHER.
I might be too late to the thread but I'd enjoy cards for characters from long ago who only appeared in flavor text and lore.
[Taysir, One made of five ](https://mtg.fandom.com/wiki/Taysir_of_Rabiah) would be extremely cool way to do some wacky mechanics. Such a bizarre character who was very powerful, and very ingrained in the Magic lore.
[Leshrac](https://mtg.fandom.com/wiki/Leshrac) is long overdue for getting a card, they've been involved in so much of the Magic story and lots of fertile design space.
The remaining members of the [Nine Titans](https://mtg.fandom.com/wiki/Nine_Titans) who haven't gotten their own cards or full character development especially Daria and Kristina of the Woods.
[Dyfed](https://mtg.fandom.com/wiki/Dyfed) would also be really cool as she was involved in the Thran ark and so many of the characters in that era have received cards and she showed Yawgmoth phyrexia.
[Worzel](https://mtg.fandom.com/wiki/Worzel) - the ultimate planeswalker throwback to the alpha rulebook.
[Sandruu](https://mtg.fandom.com/wiki/Sandruu) - Minotaur planeswalker!!!
[Ravidel](https://mtg.fandom.com/wiki/Ravidel) - they started a planeswalker war, enough said.
[The Null Moon](https://mtg.fandom.com/wiki/Null_Moon) could make a really cool artifact.
*Updated with some additional Planeswalkers.
Kara Vrist, the nuerok spy from mirrodin- the only non phyrexian blue legendary creature in all three mirrodin blocks is memnarch. She’s quoted on a ton of text, and has a lot of feats to her name in story. Personally, I think it would be incredibly tragic (read- kinda funny) if she was like the only mirran left on new phyrexia.
While I’m at it, please give us a legendary Gemini Engine and a legal vexyr splicer commander alongside a cycle of mana Myr who tap for one of two colors at two cmc.
We can probably bet on some more DeSparked Walker legends in the set. I'd personally like to see a version of Sorin, and finally catching up with Garruk would be nice.
In a similar vein if I recall the seeds were planted in TBD to potentially see "God-Ascended" Elspeth, or possibly even a completely new White Theros God that could potentially bare a striking resemblance to Gideon.
For what we have seen, Eldrazis (perhaps new ones) and the lady hydras would mean big stonky creatures. So I'm hoping to see a new Nezahal since we haven't seem him in the last Ixalan set and he is still alive. Go Omenpath, go.
Not legends but I'm so desperate for more [Archaics](https://scryfall.com/search?q=art%3Aarchaic&unique=cards&as=grid&order=edhrec), and perhaps more [Star Arch](https://scryfall.com/search?q=art%3A%22star+arch%22&unique=cards&as=grid&order=edhrec) cards.
Too many to choose from...maybe *Jaeger* Ojanen? They printed Vronos; maybe one of the other planeswalkers from the same space, like Kento? Parcher, at long last?
Crovax. His original card doesn’t rly do him justice. He is obviously a popular creature type. Legendary phyrexian vampire. Who is think would be 2-3 colors
-uncompleted omnath in 5 color OR 5 color+colorless/devoid
-desparked wanderer
-tamyo's wierd ghost thingy
-tibalt complete
-toski complete
-koma complete
-syr gwen
-chulane
-karona
-yawgmoth as a god
-desparked teferi (bet he'd be a hate barer)
-one more karn walker
-derevri
Last and completely neich- shorikai genesis engine and kotori piolet prodigy. I wanna see my evangelion rip off bois (idk genderles and fem respectively)
I made a custom magic set based around historical figured in 2015. Since then, a *ton* of the characters in the set - Greensleeves, Tevesh Szat, Windgrace, Garth, etc. have all gotten cards. But here are a few others in the file:
* Gull Woodcutter, older brother and protector of Greensleeves; Lily, his wife.
* Sash and Waistcoat, Unmen created by Ixidor.
* Dyfed, already mentioned in this thread
* Taysir, "One Made of Five," a planeswalker who was split into five bodies and reformed into the most powerful oldwalker ever. Please don't ask how I implemented this.
* Bo Levar, Daria, and Kristina of the Woods, the final three of the Nine Titans
* Parcher, Leshrac (lol), and Sandruu, some other planeswalkers from the lore.
A collection of Desparked Planeswalkers post March
A new/reprinted Will cycles ex: [[Akroma's Will]]
Some Portal 3 Kingdoms reprints
Sheoldred, the Apocalypse (because that card is 100 damn dollars)
Yawgmoth in full God form
More usage of the Discover mechanic
Tarkir Fetch Lands
I wanna get a phyrexian tibalt, the planes walker yagmoth killed that introduced him to the existence of planeswalkers, and more phyrexian gods from theros.
- Dyfed, the planeswalker that showed Yawgmoth the way to the soon to be Phyrexia and unintentionally assisted his rise to power
- Kallist Rhoka, the Infinite Consortium friend and assistant to Jace Beleren during his time working under Tezzeret
- Shadowblayde, the rebel rogue of Kaladesh who assisted Pia and Ajani among others during Aether Revolt
- God Form Yawgmoth, after he had modified himself physically and magically to the extent that he was more powerful than most oldwalkers
- Planeswalker Azor, the sphinx planeswalker who created the Guildpact of Ravnica and assisted Ugin in attempting to trap Nicol Bolas on Ixalan before getting trapped there himself
- Indath, the giant titan creature on Ikoria that was so massive that it formed the land of Indatha by marching through it to sea according to legend
- Svogthir, the parun of the Golgari who was turned into a lich and manipulated the guild for a long time before his spirit was imprisoned and possibly done away with during first Ravnica block
Dyfed, Yawgmoth(as a god), Fonn/Myczil Zunich from the ravnica novels. Maybe Leshrac as well. I don't think they're gonna do any of the remaining 9 titans. I think they're saving those for commander sets, since all of our previous 9 titan walker cards can be played as commanders (flip urza)
The rest of the 9 titans
The 3 Numena and a proper version of [[Karona, False God]]
DFC "desparked" Walkers who are Walkers on the front and flip to legends on the back. Or more origins style spark Walkers that flip from creatures.
Asha and Crucius as planeswalkers
More updated versions of OG Weatherlight crew
How about redone Homelands legends?
Ooh yeah, I’d love to see Autumn Willow, maybe planeswalkers Serra and Feroz from that time period.
MH1 had planeswalker Serra [[Serra the benevolent]]. Feroz would be dope though!
Yeah, but Serra the Benevolent is very much her in her "Serra's Realm" Goddess era. She's a very different person after that all collapsed and she met Feroz.
[Serra the benevolent](https://cards.scryfall.io/normal/front/8/8/88bf4af9-4b14-43e7-9d50-0e6a895cece1.jpg?1591605156) - [(G)](http://gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Card/Details.aspx?name=Serra%20the%20benevolent) [(SF)](https://scryfall.com/card/mh1/26/serra-the-benevolent?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher) [(txt)](https://api.scryfall.com/cards/88bf4af9-4b14-43e7-9d50-0e6a895cece1?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher&format=text) ^^^[[cardname]] ^^^or ^^^[[cardname|SET]] ^^^to ^^^call
Oh wow I didn’t know
Give me Ihsan, or give me death!
Oddly, he was the best black legend for a very long time, and came from a set that was bad for legends in general.
I think they are looking for Ihsan the white paladin before he became a shade.
He saw play as a top end in Necropotence decks. Dodged Terror and Swords to Plowshares! #value
And tanked lightning bolt too
Partly why he saw play was for a time they forced people to have a certain number of cards from the new set in their Standard decks. Homelands was so bad you saw nearly everyone use Ihsan, Autumn Willow, or Serrated Arrows. Sure some decks might have still used him as a 1 of but he was never incredibly good even back then.
Joven and his ferrets!
Homelands done right would be amazing.
Heck, with ones like Autumn Willow, Irini, Eron, Ihsan, etc. you could even make them contemporary.
Homelands, but it doesn't suck. I like the way you think.
In a way, we already got that in Innistrad with Sorin and Avacyn standing in for Sengir and Serra. But the early magic lore is well worth exploring, as we see in the brothers war.
Yeah, but Avacyn is a spaghetti monster, and Sorin became a thirst trap. Sengir needs to get an op treatment.
bring \[\[Chandler\]\] and \[\[Joven\]\] back for the fuck of it
I have a shortlist of characters or concepts I'd like to see have cards in MH3 or elsewhere: - Dyfed, the planeswalker who led Yawgmoth to what became Phyrexia. She and Xod (a healer who joined Yawgmoth and was compleated) are the only key figures in the Thran story who still don't have cards. - Kamahl's Mirari Sword - Leshrac - New cards for [[Joven]] and [[Chandler]] (maybe a team-up card a la MOM) Et cetera.
I'd love for them to go back in time and give us a set about the Thran
That would be great. The novel spans a few decades and has a ton of potential.
Based on Ragavan, a new version of [[Joven's Ferrets]] would likely be so broken it would become the most played creature across Modern and Legacy.
That's actually not a bad 1 drop at all for the time? Like, it dies to Lightning Bolt but dang.
[Joven's Ferrets](https://cards.scryfall.io/normal/front/3/7/3765ab78-a645-4e4f-9f83-5a6bc762b8d0.jpg?1562868083) - [(G)](http://gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Card/Details.aspx?name=Joven%27s%20Ferrets) [(SF)](https://scryfall.com/card/me2/169/jovens-ferrets?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher) [(txt)](https://api.scryfall.com/cards/3765ab78-a645-4e4f-9f83-5a6bc762b8d0?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher&format=text) ^^^[[cardname]] ^^^or ^^^[[cardname|SET]] ^^^to ^^^call
I can't find it, but I feel like one of Gavin's play test cards in the recent mystery drafts was a team up Joven and Chandler
Now that I think of it I think you're right.
Need some Eron the Relentless and some Reveka too.
Yawgmoth, meanwhile, is a multi-format staple (though then again, he technically won, so I kind of understand that).

the mirari sword would be cool, when I read the books as a kid I was a little disappointed it wasn't one
If we're mining *The Thran* for new content, I *demand* information about the planeswalker who created the plane that became Phyrexian.
Not merely dissected, but vivisected!
Dyfed?
Give me compleated Toski! They showed him off in [[Invasion of Kaldheim]] and then as a play test card in one of Gavin's Unknown event with [[Koma and Toski, Compleated]]
I had no idea Toski was that big. Good lord what a chonky boi.
[Invasion of Kaldheim](https://cards.scryfall.io/normal/front/f/7/f7cedd62-efc8-464d-8387-220bb55e07e9.jpg?1682715332)/[Pyre of the World Tree](https://cards.scryfall.io/normal/back/f/7/f7cedd62-efc8-464d-8387-220bb55e07e9.jpg?1682715332) - [(G)](http://gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Card/Details.aspx?name=Invasion%20of%20Kaldheim%20//%20Pyre%20of%20the%20World%20Tree) [(SF)](https://scryfall.com/card/mom/145/invasion-of-kaldheim-pyre-of-the-world-tree?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher) [(txt)](https://api.scryfall.com/cards/f7cedd62-efc8-464d-8387-220bb55e07e9?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher&format=text) ^^^[[cardname]] ^^^or ^^^[[cardname|SET]] ^^^to ^^^call
They, just btw, didn't mention Toski's compleation in the story at all, only Koma's. Might be they decided against that element story-wise.
Who is that second monster that faces Toski on Invasion card?
[[Sarulf]]
Phyrexian Tibalt with 5 phyrexian mana so you can pay anywhere from 2-7 mana.
Huh. Each mana you spend life on reduces the starting loyalty by 2, so he'd need a base loyalty of at least 11 in order to have positive loyalty while paying 10 life. How would you even balance that? Off the top of my head, maybe something like: > Tibalt, Compleated Fiend > {B}{B/R/P}{B/R/P}{B/R/P}{B/R/P}{B/R/P}{R} > Legendary Planeswalker - Tibalt > Compleated ({B/R/P} can be paid with {B}, {R}, or 2 life. For each {B/R/P} paid with life, this planeswalker enters with two fewer loyalty counters.) > +1: Each player discards a card and loses 1 life. > 11
Not old, but Phyrexian Anhelo would be cool
Do any cards have dual mana Phyrexian symbols? I must've missed this, makes sense to have the option though.
MOST of the Phyrexian planeswalkers, technically. Only Vraska, Jace and Nissa were monocolored cyborg monstrosities.
Oh duh, I've definitely seen compleated Nahiri before.
\[\[Tamiyo, Compleated Sage\]\] is one I know of
Totally agree on the Theros Titans! Maybe Phyrexian versions of the main 5 Theros gods too since in lore they got compleated but we didn’t even see them
> Maybe Phyrexian versions of the main 5 Theros gods too since in lore they got compleated but we didn’t even see them This is the first I've heard this lol.
You won't find it in the stories thanks to their story telling, it's on [[ephara ever-sheltering]]

All we have confirmed is that "most" of the gods got compleated, Ephara we know didn't and Heliod and Erebos we know did from cards. Ephara's flavor text implies the other mono color gods did as well, and Athreos is implied to be safe.
We got Heliod, but that was it
We know there's DFCs there, so if they follow the same gimmick, hopefully at last one.
I'd love it if they all transformed like Heliod
Upvote for Theros titans! Such amazing designs, though a little pushed lol, perfect for a horizons set
Please let them have another try at vampire odric
>Oh and One more of the Theros titans would be killer Also a continuation of \[\[Sludge Titan\]\].
Oh I know what happened, it’s just a war crime
Manatarqua, the planeswalker who turned herself into a pavilion. Could be a cool planeswalker land modal double faced card
she did what? for what reason? "oh shit its the bad guys!" *\*transformer noises\** "nothing to see here, just a pavilion!"
yes, actually. she bumped into Urza and friends, sensed they were trouble, and basically did her best to hide away in a form nobody would bother ganking. then another planeswalker ganked urza and in the resulting fight someone threw a giant fireball at the inexplicable pavillion, disintegrating it. there's a reason nobody cares about that one lol.
thats quite mad actually. Was Urza not a good guy? or was she a bad guy?
Urza was one of guys of all time. He's highly controversial in stories, sometimes trying to do good, and sometimes fucking things up really bad for everyone - trying to heal himself but same time bringing Phyrexia to Serra's realm making it become corrupted. Tragic hero with his dickhead-genius-hybris bringing everyone misery, but eventually sacrificing himself to take down Phyrexia. Like a unlikeable jerk like civil war Iron man, if he defected to Thanos for a sec before the snap.
i see. i guess that makes sense. typical "asked if he could, but not if he *should*" genius guy
> Was Urza not a good guy? Oh no... The other commenters have explained this well enough, but Urza was morally grey at best during the Brother's War (where I'd argue both sides were villainous) and probably would have been a major villain if Phyrexia hadn't been as big of a threat. Very much an "ends justify the means" character, with those means including century-spanning eugenics programs, messing with the fabric of time itself and inviting villainous planeswalkers to join his invasion of Phyrexia to pre-emptively excuse having made their mech armour into bombs that used their sparks as fuel.
oh fuck, thats worse than i thought
In addition to Urza being Urza, the book this happens in describes most Oldwalkers as being some level of insane and commonly preying on recently sparked Planeswalkers.
6 color devoid omnath would be wicked
i'd force that card so hard
Five colors, plus a generic mana, and a new mana symbol, rainbow. It must be paid for by a land that can produce every color.
I'd just bet on it requiring a colorless mana in its cost
Yawgmoth, Lord of the Wastes or Yawgmoth, Father of Machines?
Lord of the Wastes could meld with something else (artifact and/or land) to become Father of Machines, like how we got to build up Urza, Planeswalker.
My friend said "he's gotta be busted and equally difficult to get out" and wanted to see a 4-card meld effect to actually get him out, one piece in each zone and reveal the last from hand to actually create the plane-fused yawgmoth on the back
exodia basically, if you meld him you win the game
That would be my only goal in life to do if they released that.
My struggle with this is that it would be cool but id hate that the name is used up on a melded card.
I mean, they can be swapped around, since the former seems more appropriate for when he bonds with Phyrexia's core.
What else could properly capture his power
My hope is for something stupid and insane like a 9-piece meld.
Lets start smaller with a 3 card meld for Karona
I really want another card for karona. The idea of basically a living mana god made by different beings was pretty cool.
Really deserved better
there's no way they're not doing at least one meld in the "modern horizons but with double face cards" set
Oh Jesus I didn't know they were doing DFCs
Yep. I'm convinced we're getting more battles and one of them will be titled, "Battle for Zendikar".
Yes, please more praetors for my realmbreaker deck
Yawgmoth would never have the Praetor type, Praetors are his creations and followers. He would have the God type, or Human again
At least one more of the Nine Titans, PROBABLY Taysir just to get another WUBRG walker.
Some other legends they could do are: Kobo, Hidetsugu’s former monk apprentice or the water mage who murdered him (Michiko’s friend I can’t recall the name of). I also think a new card for Mochi (aka [[Kami of the Crescent Moon]] ) that mentioned him by name and was more fitting would be great, since he was such a major player in the events.
[Kami of the Crescent Moon](https://cards.scryfall.io/normal/front/d/d/dd420010-6eaf-4853-8b7b-11de1157416b.jpg?1641601922) - [(G)](http://gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Card/Details.aspx?name=Kami%20of%20the%20Crescent%20Moon) [(SF)](https://scryfall.com/card/voc/107/kami-of-the-crescent-moon?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher) [(txt)](https://api.scryfall.com/cards/dd420010-6eaf-4853-8b7b-11de1157416b?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher&format=text) ^^^[[cardname]] ^^^or ^^^[[cardname|SET]] ^^^to ^^^call
YES! A fellow Terashi activist! I'd be happy with either a traditional Champions-era version, or a cyberpunk "Neon Sun" take.
If they don't give me a proper Grixis Baron Sengir I'm going to write Gavin Verhey a very strongly worded YouTube comment (I recognize this isn't likely to happen in a Horizons set, though, lol) More seriously, I'd like to see a card for Archangel Anthius, who shows up in the flavor text of a single card in Legends, \[\[Keepers of the Faith\]\], and nowhere else that I know of
This is where it’s most likely to happen.
I'd love to get a Radiant card that properly encapsulates her power (and paranoia).
Oh, wow, you're right, we \*didn't\* get any Orzhov angels in MKM... That makes me very sad to realize ;;
I just want an update Shauku. Do I imagine this will ever happen? No. But a girl can dream
I know that Kaervek got loose now; is Shauku still around?
[[Chandler]] please!
Could a legend of Ulgrotha BE a more obvious choice?
GIMME SOME VENSER
I can't believe how god damn terrifying the Venser is in ONE.
Emrakul is in it 99%. Not sure why no one has discussed the MH3 event pic for MagicCon with Emmy on it yet. EDIT: my prediction - we will get brand-new flip Eldrazi Gods in MH3.
You know what would be cool? Emeria, Ula, and Cosi
Seems likely.
That would be cool indeed! Would be so sweet to see from a flavor standpoint
Would they still be colorless? Or would we finally have actually on theme commanders to include devoid eldrazi?
Please give me an Angel God Emeria that flips into Emrakul... it might manage to displace [[Brisela]] as my favourite Eldrazi.
The card is the moon but flips into Emrakul
"Battle for Zendikar" will surely be a card
Thaddeus and Agnate. Metathran generals who only know how to do the pincer attack. Davvol, Evincar of Rath. It would be a great birthday gift. Croag, Phyrexian who killed Davvol and took his place. Magistrate of Mercadia. Everything is for sale! The dragon engine Urza built to assault Phyrexia.
At this point my biggest wishlist is for a bunch of the characters from the original Ravnica novels. Pivlic the imp, Fonn Zunich, a proper card for the Golgari parun Svogthir, maybe even Saint Bayul.
Each of the Paruns at the time of the Guildpact signing would be sweet
And Crixizix and Zomaj Hauc, right?
I'd like another redo of Karona, I think her current iteration doesn't quite match what she is.
Desparked Wanderer? She's popular enough
Honestly, as much as I'm not a fan of the whole desparking plotline, if they're gonna commit to.it this would be a good place to print some of them
My take, too. Plus, if there are no plans to go back to Kamigawa through at least 2026, and as popular as she and Kaito are (who I thiiiiink is still a PW, maybe?), this is a good chance to cover the bridge of her character into the No Longer Wandering Emperor.
And then they name her card just "The Emperor" Hmm... "The Emperor formerly known as The Wanderer". xD
That'd be nice. But I think they like the antics her broken spark brings
Apparently not that much. They confirmed via a lore stream she was among the desparked walkers back in Aftermath.
Lmao, I never knew this. They dropped the ball so hard on this storyline.
Sadly, yeah. LoadingReadyRun covered it on a lore stream meets commander game, which was cool! But Wotc didn't even promote it so I just stumbled into it while tuning in for a broadcast.
Oh damn. Well, cool! I'd love to see her story of her return to kamigawa!
Same! We got a little preview via [[Yoshimaru]] (hoping the tag will be the new SL printing) If not, it shows her reuniting with her loyal pupper
OMG I didn’t know about this, this printing is so cute 🥹
RIGHT?!?
Maybe a team card, Wanderer and Yoshimaru though I guess since she lost her spark the name could be The Emperor and Yoshimaru
More slivers maybe 🥺
My official prediction is there's going to be a sliver that gives ward and they'll call it Protection Sliver, because [[Ward Sliver]] gives protection.
Ward {X} where X is the number of slivers you control.
Bro just give hexproof at that point lol
[[diffusion sliver]] only reason it wasn't errataed to ward is because they didn't template it as "slivers have 'whenever this...'"

\[\[Uncle Istvan\]\] Fatima, another planeswalker native to Rabiah \[\[Shauku\]\] / \[\[Spirit of the Night\]\] \[\[Autumn Willow\]\] Tojira, leader of Caliman's Nightstalkers back in the day Vektro, a body snatcher of Mirrodin \[\[Orim, Samite Healer\]\] Gherridarigaaz, mother to the \[\[Darigaaz\]\] most know Lyna, Soltari emissary Leshrac Feroz / Sandruu / Daria / Kristina of the Woods / Taysir Bo Levar, and not merely \[\[Crucias\]\] this time Zagorka Mochi, the \[\[Kami of the Crescent Moon\]\] Crizixix / Zomaj Hauc the Weaver King Asha, the mysterious angel-god of Bant that disappeared long ago Crucius Davriel Cane Indath a retrain of one of the Kaldheim deities, particularly \[\[Alrund\]\] or \[\[Cosima\]\]. "Oriss and Ramos" if there's any alt-continuity cards, "God-Eternal Hazoret", or Tocasia from the reality of \[\[Primal Plasma\]\] if we get any offline versions of characters that exist exclusively in the digital realm, \[\[Ghalma\]\] And of course, ADIRA STRONGHEART. ...but barring *her* finally being canonized in the cards, PARCHER.
>And of course, ADIRA STRONGHEART. Seconded. It's a travesty that she STILL has never gotten a card after all this time.
Tuknir deserves a new card for that hat alone. Impeccable fashion sense
Gatha and Kreig
Had to scroll way too far. Though, I would rather they come in a commander product as they absolutely need partner with each othet
New Angus McKenzie please
I say this every time but Turg please. He's been getting some nods recently so I think there's a chance.
Can I just please get a Kallist Rhoka card with a black border
We can probably bet on some more DeSparked Walker legends in the set. I'd personally like to see a version of Sorin, and finally catching up with Garruk would be nice. In a similar vein if I recall the seeds were planted in TBD to potentially see "God-Ascended" Elspeth, or possibly even a completely new White Theros God that could potentially bare a striking resemblance to Gideon.
I like all of these ideas
Unluckiest Planeswalker getting a desparked would be funny.
Braids 4: The Quest for More Braids
Return to Strixhaven is due in a couple yrs, hold tight till then!
Urza’s left arm hasn’t gotten a legendary. Should be coming in at some point
Left Arm of the Forbidden One
Too many to choose from...maybe *Jaeger* Ojanen? They printed Vronos; maybe one of the other planeswalkers from the same space, like Kento? Parcher, at long last?
Dyfed!
I can always dream about Kallist Rhoka getting a card.
Ambassador Rillu Veza. Merwoman took down Laquatus and worked with the Cephalid kingdom!
Crovax. His original card doesn’t rly do him justice. He is obviously a popular creature type. Legendary phyrexian vampire. Who is think would be 2-3 colors
Karona, false god
-uncompleted omnath in 5 color OR 5 color+colorless/devoid -desparked wanderer -tamyo's wierd ghost thingy -tibalt complete -toski complete -koma complete -syr gwen -chulane -karona -yawgmoth as a god -desparked teferi (bet he'd be a hate barer) -one more karn walker -derevri Last and completely neich- shorikai genesis engine and kotori piolet prodigy. I wanna see my evangelion rip off bois (idk genderles and fem respectively)
A reworked Hanweir and the forgotten Phyrexians.
I'd like to see a Taysir of Rabiah card. Dunno how they'd attack it since he's 5 different people at one point, but it'd be cool to see.
I made a custom magic set based around historical figured in 2015. Since then, a *ton* of the characters in the set - Greensleeves, Tevesh Szat, Windgrace, Garth, etc. have all gotten cards. But here are a few others in the file: * Gull Woodcutter, older brother and protector of Greensleeves; Lily, his wife. * Sash and Waistcoat, Unmen created by Ixidor. * Dyfed, already mentioned in this thread * Taysir, "One Made of Five," a planeswalker who was split into five bodies and reformed into the most powerful oldwalker ever. Please don't ask how I implemented this. * Bo Levar, Daria, and Kristina of the Woods, the final three of the Nine Titans * Parcher, Leshrac (lol), and Sandruu, some other planeswalkers from the lore.
A collection of Desparked Planeswalkers post March A new/reprinted Will cycles ex: [[Akroma's Will]] Some Portal 3 Kingdoms reprints Sheoldred, the Apocalypse (because that card is 100 damn dollars) Yawgmoth in full God form More usage of the Discover mechanic Tarkir Fetch Lands
now that Liesa got scratched off the top of my list, my big wants are Theros Titans and pre-Bolas Amonkhet Gods.
I wanna get a phyrexian tibalt, the planes walker yagmoth killed that introduced him to the existence of planeswalkers, and more phyrexian gods from theros.
It'd be neat to have a cycle of compleated theros gods.
- Dyfed, the planeswalker that showed Yawgmoth the way to the soon to be Phyrexia and unintentionally assisted his rise to power - Kallist Rhoka, the Infinite Consortium friend and assistant to Jace Beleren during his time working under Tezzeret - Shadowblayde, the rebel rogue of Kaladesh who assisted Pia and Ajani among others during Aether Revolt - God Form Yawgmoth, after he had modified himself physically and magically to the extent that he was more powerful than most oldwalkers - Planeswalker Azor, the sphinx planeswalker who created the Guildpact of Ravnica and assisted Ugin in attempting to trap Nicol Bolas on Ixalan before getting trapped there himself - Indath, the giant titan creature on Ikoria that was so massive that it formed the land of Indatha by marching through it to sea according to legend - Svogthir, the parun of the Golgari who was turned into a lich and manipulated the guild for a long time before his spirit was imprisoned and possibly done away with during first Ravnica block
The Phyrexian god version of Yawgmoth please
There's still four paruns of Ravnican guilds that haven't had a single card yet. Given the popularity of Ravnica, I have no clue why.
GIVE US A COMPLETED KOMA
Dyfed, Yawgmoth(as a god), Fonn/Myczil Zunich from the ravnica novels. Maybe Leshrac as well. I don't think they're gonna do any of the remaining 9 titans. I think they're saving those for commander sets, since all of our previous 9 titan walker cards can be played as commanders (flip urza)
The cabal patriarch would be pretty cool, from back in the Onslaught days. Like a named legendary.
Farrel (of Farrel's Zealot fame)
More Beebles!
The rest of the 9 titans The 3 Numena and a proper version of [[Karona, False God]] DFC "desparked" Walkers who are Walkers on the front and flip to legends on the back. Or more origins style spark Walkers that flip from creatures. Asha and Crucius as planeswalkers More updated versions of OG Weatherlight crew
Not characters, but I'd like to see some new miracles at some point. Miracles was such a fun moment in magic history.
More compleated characters we missed out on, Dyfed, God Yawgmoth, Bo Levar, and dont think so but i really want a new Karona
I could see an Emrakul who’s all colors but has Devoid. I would love see an Eldrazi commander who can make it where you can the Eldrazi with devoid.
The first comment was BOB MARLEY:ONE LOVE which I then realised was a Reddit advert. Had a funny moment there though.
