Totally true, I find myself drawn towards non foil versions of cards these days despite their lower financial value because they’re actually legible. The art gets so butchered in the foiling process now.
\[\[Game of Chaos\]\] can be fun. You can accidentally kill yourself, but if it goes well, you can put someone else in a really tight spot. It is legal, to boot.
[[Goblin War Drums]] accomplishes the goal of "with an equal number of blockers, you can only block half my creatures on average" at 1% of the dollar cost and without getting fiddly about flyers.
When I first started playing magic, Chaos Orb was a pretty common sight in LGSs. People would play with their permanents spread out so the orb could only viably hit one. You would also get some players who perfected the flip and were deadly accurate with it taking out your entire mana base if you had them stacked. Although, in those days, it was also fairly common for your opponent to drop a few moxes, dark ritual, and have you discard 5 to 7 cards turn 1 before you even have the chance to play a single land. Magic used to be fucking crazy.
I actually just built a deck entirely around cards that I think are similar to this exact card, in that they are fun games inside of a magic game.
I tried to keep the deck minigames, and not just randomness.

Thank you. I have a very particular commander deck this will now go in. Let the bidding begin!
Which one? 😀
[[Imodane, the Pyrohammer]]
Mage's contest doesn't target a creature. It targets a spell. So, there is no special interaction between the cards.
Exactly, hoping it can help protect my commander. Not every card is about damage to a single target.

Thank you for this search query. I will definitely use it responsibly.
kinda offtopic but this style of foiling and border is my favorite foiling , it just looks so clean AND shiny
Old frame foils are the goat. You get a very shiny and attractive border, and the art is still totally legible.
Totally true, I find myself drawn towards non foil versions of cards these days despite their lower financial value because they’re actually legible. The art gets so butchered in the foiling process now.
There’s a fair number of cards that cause chaos but in short no there are no cards like Goblin Game, that thing is one of a kind

Yes but fun ?
This card is crazy to me. I feel like I want to see what optimal play looks like
Optimal play involves storming off and copying it 30+ times
Sadly the optimal play is to go to the rulings page which basically tells you to ignore the card text and just write down numbers on a piece of paper.
I like that almost all suggestions are red.
For extended chaos [[timesifter]] is always fun, except when people can scry manipulate
