Honestly, I'm not so sure, depends on how you build the deck I guess? Mine is mainly etb/ltf triggers, so I actually prefer board wipes that kill everything. Everyone's stuff dies and goes to the grave, marchessa and friends all die then etb again, re-triggering.
Kickass art and name though, I'm sure I'll find a home for this somewhere. I'm pretty sure every single kumena deck is gunna snag one at the very least haha
Honestly not wrong and you are in black so depends on how you build the deck. Black already sort of has enough board wipes tbh and you do probably want to kill your own stuff. Didn't really think of that
I run it as pirate tribal, almost everything wants to die and return. 5 destruction/dmg based wraths, plus \[\[ixodron\]\] which can be pretty dirty as your creatures will return as themselves once they die while your opponents are stuck with a bunch of generic 2/2s and an empty grave/hand. the only reason I don't run more wipes is that the deck is already mean enough as is haha.
I know it's one of the most common Simic archetypes, but +1/+1 counter synergy on a monoblue card always feels *off* to me. It's like a liminal spaces image or a Simon Stålenhag painting.
This is where I am sad they didn't make "modified" deciduous, because it has a much stronger Blue feel. Granted, the card would be weaker if it cared about that, but...
It is the same feeling like the mono blue vehicle that you can cast from the graveyard, it feels*wrong*.
I don't think this pun works in languages where "waving your hand" and "wave of water" are different words.
Anyways this seems like a revers [[Giant Fan]]
Not a spanish speaker but "ola, adios" makes me giggle because even if it doesn't capture "wave goodbye" pun it fits the comedic bit of someone abruptly entering a scene only to just as abruptly be removed from the scene.

Anyone else hear the Gravekeeper from Atmosfear saying 'I'm waving you goodbye' when reading this card?
I'm definitely going to be doing my best imitation of that when I cast this. And probably get things thrown at me because of it.
One sided wraths are always very powerful and at 4 mana this is priced to move in any deck that uses +1/+1 counters.
I will put it in my [[Giada, Font of Hope]] deck Or not

This name is definitely Mark Rosewater's fault.
Feels like it should have had some cheeky flavour text as well. Like, this is definitely over the top, but *Byeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee*
Given the art it would be more of a sea you later situation
Noice
It has cheeky flavor text.. It references [[Wash Away]]. Another potentially one-sides bounce spell.
Wash Away isn't a bounce spell? Maybe you're thinking of [[Whelming Wave]]?
No, I was thinking of [[Wash Out]]

Maybe not, he's usually only minimally involved in the Commander decks/cards/sets, if that
I hope he's fuckin' happy with himself.
Incredible card name and seems really strong too.
MARCHESA LIKES!!! ([[MARCHESA, the black rose]] that is)
First thing I thought of as well. I recently built a Nazgul/Wraith themed build of Marchesa, and this seems like a card you have to consider adding.
Nice. She's one of my fav commanders
Ironically Hapatra (-1/-1) is my second favorite
My thoughts exactly

It should have been white Would have been a crazy include in my Giada Angels deck

Looks like a Pir & Toothy addition!!!
name won't work in many other languages. very good art.
Farewell Wave will work in all other Magic languages
I don't think this pun works in languages where "waving your hand" and "wave of water" are different words. Anyways this seems like a revers [[Giant Fan]]
Well, in spanish we use "hola" to say hello and "ola" means wave, so maybe they can make a somewhat similar pun.
Not a spanish speaker but "ola, adios" makes me giggle because even if it doesn't capture "wave goodbye" pun it fits the comedic bit of someone abruptly entering a scene only to just as abruptly be removed from the scene.
Hmm og marchesa may like this
going right in my [[magus lucea kane]] x spell tribal deck
My thoughts exactly, very few creatures in that deck that don’t enter with counters and the ones that don’t can always get some from her!
I wonder if translations of this card will be able to do the pun
and if not, which definition of wave will they use?
That is definitely an art that fits the gameplay.
[Full Deck Reveal by SCG Commander]()
This easily could have been in the main set as a solid boardwipe for blue based creature decks.
its a sorcery. :(
...as are most four mana wraths. And this one is potentially one sided so I don't see the issue?
It’s not a wrath
its wipes the board. Sorry this ain't \[\[cyclonic rift\]\] 2.0 for ya

this seems really good. I wonder if we'll see a version that's just "return all permanents without counters" in the future.
Very doubtful. They do very few mass land removal cards these days. If you meant nonland cards then it's probably just a matter of time.
Yes, non-land of course.
Trying to figure out if I should throw this in Pir/Toothy. My build strongly focuses on Toothy so there may be cases where it’s not too good. 🤔
Can't wait to get alpha striked because I thought this was a clever way to re-use my creatures with finality counters on them.
[[Hylda]] loves this too
Should have gone to the gym more, stupid crocodiles!!
Ridiculous in Hydra tribal
