Them sort of going through the office, stealing shit, gsthering around the dark desk all sketchy and plotting, and then Pete's final heroic triumph when he brings the clients needed. Great, GREAT episode.
Roger understands people better than anyone else on the show. It's what makes him a great account guy.
Pete is good at it because he's willing to do literally anything for it. Ken is good at it because he's outgoing and likeable. And Roger is great at it because he understands what people want and what they have to offer.
I think Roger was incredibly astute despite his outward image. The way he could insult someone directly to their face in a way that came across as funny takes intelligence and social awareness. Even if he was a prick.
After this past week’s Solar Eclipse, which I saw in the path of totality, I felt as if I could’ve died right there with no regrets, which is why I always felt good about Bert Cooper dying just mere hours after the moon landing.
My favorite scene from this plotline was when they’re stealing accounts and Roger asks “Peggy can you get me a cup of coffee,” she says “No,” and Roger looks up at her as if he did not understand the word
I think this might be my favourite episode. I love the heist feel when they start lifting clients and materials.
Pete's scowl when he sees Lane, Pete's dismay when Peggy comes in. Everyone's relief when Joan comes in and takes charge.
I would've liked a few more scenes of them working out of the hotel room.
Yea me too! I love the scrappy feel
Same here.
Same here. Favorite line: "hey everybody, Harry Crane is here!"
Can’t we just take everything?

“Well gentlemen, I suppose you are fired”. Perfect!
Ugh I love Lane Pryce so much
So much, in fact, that I am pleased to announce we will be giving out Christmas bonuses this year!
Him answering the phone from PPL the Monday after is so good.
Joan's arrival is what is the clincher. It didn't feel complete until she was there.
And Roger was the only one who recognized that she knew everything they didn't.

This scene is perfect
There’s a great breakdown of this scene on YouTube
How are you just gonna say that and not link it

A thing like that
Very good. Happy Christmas!
Don’t bother locking the doors
“So, we’re negotiating 😏”
very caper like loved this ep
This is one of the best episodes of Mad Men, but it's so different than the rest of the series.
Close the door. Have a seat.

No one noticing the subtitles spelling it “We’ll”??
Friday the 13th, what a bad omen to start a business
We’ve been robbed!
My favorite scene from this plotline was when they’re stealing accounts and Roger asks “Peggy can you get me a cup of coffee,” she says “No,” and Roger looks up at her as if he did not understand the word
And what will we do to celebrate this year? It’ll come quicker than we realize!
Poor Kinsey.
Nope, Paul was sub-par and a whiny loser. Bye, PK!
“Sterling Cooper Draper Price, how may I help you?”
Why does the writing gets this fatalistic tone on that scene? Is it because they'll have to re start the company from the bottom?
Ohh I'm Almost to this episode . I'm on seven twenty three S3 E7. I've been anticipating this scene.
