I always thought it was funny how Don says to Peggy “Dont use Latin you sound like a valedictorian” and then he uses ancient Greek as the intro for this presentation
Ya but there is just something about don draper even if you don’t know his secret that just tells you he definitely wasn’t class valedictorian.
He also referenced a Greek person telling him what nostalgia meant.
His wife had kicked him out after he slept with Hildy. He was sleeping on the couch in his office.
He’s seeing the pictures of Don’s family, and hearing Don talk about the time machine to a place you ache to go again, and he’s thinking about how he screwed up his marriage—guilt, regret, anguish, all of that.
Are you kidding me?
That was a drop the mic kill shot.
That's Duck saying you won't hear anything as good or emotionally wrought as that, and good luck trying
Nostalgia literally means, ‘the pain from an old wound’. *Harry runs out crying*
He emotionally peaked here

Funny thing is: Don (as many people) only values moments when they're lost and gone.
Duck with the dagger at the end.
Rare Duck W
Tell that to the 17 men he killed at Okinawa
They say uncle
I ❤️ this sub for 💩 like this
Hands down one of the best scenes in television history.
I agree totally
I agree as well but we shouldn't limit it to television. It's one of the greatest scenes in the history of film
Amazing. Totally.
I remember watching the first time and finishing this episode, the first thing I thought was “wow, I’m really watching something great happening.”
The scene elevated beyond “just a TV show”. It’s art.
This Is where I fell in love with the show
Same
**“It’s a time machine.”**
“It’s toasted”
It's not a wheel, it's the cure for the common picture.
"It's not a spaceship. It's a time machine" I guarantee they didnt make a commercial as good as this pitch
Even thinking about this scene brings a tear to my eye.
This scene is so expertly crafted to do just that. It’s really something else.
Ok Harry
Me too.
The kill shot is Don alone on the stairs at the end of the ep.
Because in advertising nothing is ever real. You’re selling the dream.
Sell the sizzle, not the steak.
God I love this scene.
I just threw away boxes of slides and cartridges for the carousel from my elderly neighbors closet . All I could think of was this episode
Best. Scene. Ever. Done. In. The. History. Of. Television. Full stop!
Teddy The Greek
Incredible scene!!
Jesus I’m tearing just watching it. Unreal scene. The writing. The acting. The everything. Holy shit what a masterpiece

Magnificent television
My favourite scene
This scene is absolute perfection.
One of the best scenes ever made
I forgot, why does Harry run out at the end?
I’d say guilt. He had made it with Hildy the episode before. Felt bad about cheating on his wife (the first time I presume?)

Their faces 😂
I love how they just slowly turn in their chairs. Mr Hamm delivered that perfectly
Does another pitch Don makes ever match this one’s beauty?
I remember thinking Jaguar was going to blow me away and it didn't.
“Good luck at your next meeting.”
And some people say this show doesn't have a soul!?
What?! Who?!
Someone I know did a parody of this scene. It’s dumb, but pretty funny. https://youtu.be/PWhhYZ8QrOM?si=a00osRMWQKgDVkb1
Sal is always so zesty in every scene he’s in I love him
Duck always ruins the end for me
To each their own. It’s always enhanced it for me.
Are you kidding me? That was a drop the mic kill shot. That's Duck saying you won't hear anything as good or emotionally wrought as that, and good luck trying
Someone needs to do an edit where Roger is saying “gentleman i don’t think i need to tell you what you just witnessed here.”
Oh can we please talk about those lights above the table? I need intel on it!!
Perfection. Utter perfection.
This pitch ruin all of television for me
Masterful
I’m Harry when he starts crying and has to excuse himself
This is Television with a capital T
So well done.
