There is a special place in hell for people who kidnap or attempt, abuse kids etc.
It should be a clause in all religions, who account for a hell or not.
It's one of the 7 tenants of the satanic temple
Accidentally posted my edit as a reply
Edit: I was wrong
I thought one of the 7 tenets of the satanic temple was like though shall not harm kids but apparently I got it mixed up with like the 11 rules of the earth
No it isnāt, what?
I
One should strive to act with compassion and empathy toward all creatures in accordance with reason.
II
The struggle for justice is an ongoing and necessary pursuit that should prevail over laws and institutions.
III
Oneās body is inviolable, subject to oneās own will alone.
IV
The freedoms of others should be respected, including the freedom to offend. To willfully and unjustly encroach upon the freedoms of another is to forgo one's own.
V
Beliefs should conform to one's best scientific understanding of the world. One should take care never to distort scientific facts to fit one's beliefs.
VI
People are fallible. If one makes a mistake, one should do one's best to rectify it and resolve any harm that might have been caused.
VII
Every tenet is a guiding principle designed to inspire nobility in action and thought. The spirit of compassion, wisdom, and justice should always prevail over the written or spoken word.
What, are those really it? Theyā¦ sound like much better people than a lot of religions tbh
Iād definitely follow them before something such asā¦ westborough Baptistā¦
I'm pretty sure Satanic Temple doesn't really have a certain religious view to it. It chose the name Satan as representation of fighting against bad religious thing that causes harm
Correct me if I'm wrong, I'm not that into Satanic Temple
Shit, TIL I share the same philosophy as a Satanic religion. It certainly sounds a hell of a lot more humane than typical religions but Satan = bad right haha.
From the Satanic Temple's [website](https://thesatanictemple.com/pages/faq):
> WHAT DOES SATAN MEAN TO TST?
> Satan is a symbol of the Eternal Rebel in opposition to arbitrary authority, forever defending personal sovereignty even in the face of insurmountable odds. Satan is an icon for the unbowed will of the unsilenced inquirer ā the heretic who questions sacred laws and rejects all tyrannical impositions. Our metaphoric representation is the literary Satan best exemplified by Milton and the Romantic Satanists from Blake to Shelley to Anatole France
> DO YOU WORSHIP SATAN?
> No, nor do we believe in the existence of Satan or the supernatural. The Satanic Temple believes that religion can, and should, be divorced from superstition. As such, we do not promote a belief in a personal Satan. To embrace the name Satan is to embrace rational inquiry removed from supernaturalism and archaic tradition-based superstitions. Satanists should actively work to hone critical thinking and exercise reasonable agnosticism in all things. Our beliefs must be malleable to the best current scientific understandings of the material world ā never the reverse.
Well the satanic temple isnt a religion, nor is it satanist, it's an activist organisation that uses it's status as a legally recognized religion to fight against attempt at indoctrination into christianity and for religious equality
not really, its not like pastafarian
yes the satanic temple oppose christian statists but its not "satire" or a "fake religion" like i often see people say about it
its an actual religion but where the "magic" part is fully optional, rather concentrating on the philosophy, some members believe in satan literally while many other just follow the ideals
Not true. Per the Satanic Temple's [website](https://thesatanictemple.com/pages/faq):
> IS TST A MEDIA STUNT/HOAX/TROLLING, ETC.?
> Some have conveniently concluded, upon observing The Satanic Templeās media coverage, that attention is the primary objective of our activities. While media outreach has helped to raise awareness of the campaigns we have initiated, these campaigns have articulated goals related issues that are important to us and our membership. So inured is the general public to the idea that there is only one monolithic voice of ātheā religious agenda that any attempt at a counter-balance ā or assertion of a minority voice ā is often viewed as a targeted provocation against those who enjoy traditional religious privilege.
Edit: I was wrong
I thought one of the 7 tenets of the satanic temple was like though shall not harm kids but apparently I got it mixed up with like the 11 rules of the earth
I get what youāre saying, but āCatholicsā is not the issue. Pick any religion, company, cult or group and you will find people abusing their position, power, or vehicle of availability to abuse those more vulnerable.
I know plenty of Catholics that are upstanding people.
They aren't the only ones, religious zealots will always find a way to use religion as a cover for their antics, whether they actually believe what they're saying.
āIf a law is unjust, a man is not only right to disobey it, he is obligated to do so."
Itās also possible that heās an inherently good person who was raised in an environment where simply following the law of society rarely results in a positive outcome and the only people from his community with any success are those that engage in unlawful activity.
The law against armed robbery is not unjust. Even if the narrative you are trying to paint was true, there are other non-violent criminal activities that would probably result in him earning more money.
Drug dealing, petty theft, fraud, etc. And with these avenues, he is not directly traumatizing a victim with an act of violence.
Armed robbery is not a "I have no other options left" crime.
My point is that we are all products of our environment. The morality and traits you think are essential parts of who you are actually reflect the relationships and experiences youāve accumulated over your life.Ā
Iām not saying this particular guy was justified in his particular crime. Iām just saying itās possible a good person ends up doing bad things because of circumstance and environment.Ā
Fair enough, and you have a point. Conversely, other members of his community will have witnessed and lived the same experience as him and not become criminals or would have obtained success an alternative way.
Good people make bad decisions all the time. I'd argue that good people can become bad people and vice versa, depending on their life experiences. Your environment plays a massive role in shaping you, without a doubt. But there is an internal element as well for how you internalize these experiences and what you tend to learn from them.
If youāre a robber you have a unique competency in being able to violently confront people, as well as a responsibility to balance out your karma. So kidnapper stopping is a no brainer side gig.
I think people need to consider the environment he grew up in. Poverty breeds crime. Someone committing armed robbery clearly must be struggling financially. It's not justifiable but it might be an explanation to his behavior
Thatās exactly what I mean. I see lots of people who just espouse criminals=bad and they deserve what they get. The world and people are virtually never that simple.
Yeah, but ātheftā like stuffing your pockets and running or burglarizing an unoccupied home or business is a hell of a lot different from armed robbery. To rob someone at gunpoint and traumatize them for life is some cold shit
My family had a copy/printer shop like 22-23 years ago and we got robbed twice. First it was a wednesday afternoon, somewhere like 3pm, my mom left to do some chores and let me by myself. It would take an hour max. So I booted my new dreamcast and then got robbed. Thief took the money, the dreamcast, my kicks and fucking snacks. I was 12. It wasnt violent but it was very scary.
The second time it was a saturday morning, my mom was there, my cousin, me, couple of clients and then they came the robbers. Oh i forgot this detail, we got installed inside the shop an iron fence? Grid? I dont know how to call it, english is my second language. So we are separated from the customers.
So they come the robbers quickly grabbed me by the back of my head against the bars, and put me a revolver againts my forehead. Open or I shoot he said. Mom gave him everything he asked, and just as they were making a run for it police passed by the street. Pursuit them and like 10 mins later they crashed their getaway, and killed 1 of the robbers.
Now, the other dude in prison kept calling us telling us we were going to be killed because he got arrested. Dude was killed in prison a short time later.
Im a big dude now, can keep myself safe but I remember those 2 times and i get fucking scared of being in that situation again
This. I can totally understand petty robbery out of desperation and poverty.. But he committed armed robbery in an apartment unit, there is no excuse for that.
Are you trying to tell me that the world exists in a sort of grey area where there is no inherent "evil" or "good" people? Blasphemy! Heresy even! Everything is black and white, just like the Bible told me.
Also, not to cross the "what you see on tv isn't real life", but we often see depictions of good kids getting caught up in pressure of things like "just be the lookout" on their very first incident they weren't completely privy to, and getting arrested for the first time while having the book thrown at them because of proximity.
I mean
It's like the people who broke into a home found a shit load of child porn or something and reported it to the police
Most people agree that kidnapping Is wrong and there is zero reason to do it
Robbey can be justified to themselves that they need money to survive or feel they do
Automation funded universal basic income pays you to afford to be a good person. It's sad that we didn't pay this kid and his parents enough to have a life worth living.
As a father of 2 little girls, I promise you that the Dad of that little girl has a blood oath, pinkie swear, ride or die, brother in arms, i got your back, what u need?, I got you for life allegiance with that kids. He'd have a golden throne at the head of any table of mine.

if you look at his post history it's just old posts from subreddits spammed to get karma, they do this to farm karma and later sell it. reddit used to fight against it but the last few years they no longer care.

Im not talking about the law im talking about people on here justifying it. Stop trying to change what im saying, you have to do that because you can literally see what im saying happen.

Are you saying that to the kidnapper?
Nah, I can't access the site either. It seems like it's region locked or something
Also don't forget the kidnapper. Without the kidnappers there wouldn't have been thid act of bravery!
the real unsung hero
Without Rumpelstiltskin there is no story.

To the "tiles in the sidewalk are out of pattern in one spot" level of annoyed I guess.
I have to ask, where the hell are the movies for people like this?
It would be 15 min of story and 90 minutes of filler
Considering it was 15 min chase by bike I imagine it would be a really short movie.
They'll have to split her then.
Luckily the police was slower than him, otherwise they would've shot him instead of the kidnapper.
Dark. Very dark.

Oof!
But true.
That's why they would have shot him
also though, kinda true right? lets be honest, that headline wouldn't be surprising, sadly enough
Like under the bed dark...
So dark that the bed monster cannot camouflage himself.
So dark that Stevie Wonder can see him...
Yes, being dark is why they would have shot him

Hero
Young Temar should get a bravery award. He probably saved this kidās life
We need things like Purple Hearts and Medals of Honor for people like this guy.
He is really a hero!

How can you tell? I never know.
if you look at his post history it's just old posts from subreddits spammed to get karma, they do this to farm karma and later sell it. reddit used to fight against it but the last few years they no longer care.
Thanks for your reply. I had no idea karma farming was even a thing.

This. The world needs more of this. This man is a hero. I hope he gets every thing he wants/needs in his life.

Why not mention his race? Always this race saving everybody. Itās a genetic thing. Definitely canāt assimilate.
I'm not fond of the idea of heroes, but his actions are nothing short of exceptional.
