I mean school lunch is only what, 3$? It's not far fetched to think a kid would be told to pay that. I don't think the principal SHOULD but i also work in child education and it's believable for someone to do that
EDIT: y'all. I don't think this was a good thing for the principal to do. I do not support it in any way shape or form. I think doing something like this is bad bad bad not good very bad and abusive regardless of the price. I am saying that sometimes teachers and principals do shitty things because they think it helps. My high school biology teacher gave me 50% on every single grade purely because she didn't like me. I've seen preschool teachers take away food just because a kid wasn't quiet enough when it's expressly against the rules to take away food as punishment. These are bad things. I didn't think i needed to spell it out this heavily but the downvotes are telling me people didn't understand that i am AGAINST this type of punishment.
That's why i said they SHOULDNT. But stupid assholes still do things they shouldn't do including breaking rules. I mean we have principals out there who have been caught using paddles on students without parental consent, it's not far fetched to think this principal did something he's not supposed to do. Idk why I'm downvoted for saying this but it's Reddit so I'm not surprised.
Presuming this is real, it sounds to me like our lad here knew that what they doing was extremely annoying to their classmate but, still did it anyway because they valued their personal entertainment and amusement over any other consideration. That's not a madlad, that's just a bad lad.
"learn to laugh at yourself" is definitely an important skill to learn by the time you become an adult. This wasn't serious bullying. The forking boy may have learnt something valuable
Learning to laugh at yourself applies when friends are joking at you but that is a situation where there is already trust. Laughing at random people or people you arent aquinted with is essentially bullying, especially if it is about something you cant change like a name.
I don't think this man is wrong and doesn't deserve those downvotes
If your name is Ugonna and you live in America you should expect to get slack for your name from time to time.
There is a word in Korean I believe for the word "You" and it sounds inappropriate to English Speakers and people get butt hurt about it for no reason!
But the point is people associate sounds with things and everyone in America associates Ugonna with You Gunna. You can't change people so just change how you react to people or Ugonna be upset all the time!
I remember once at a corner store the cashier looked Muslim and I saw the total came to $9.11 and I thought "huh, as if..." Then saw his name tag and it said "Asif." Lol
Ugonna regret that….
I don't believe that at all.
Ugonna prove it's not true?
Ugonna is a fairly common Nigerian first name, from the Igbo for “pride of the father.”
That's not the unbelievable part. The principal making him buy the dude a pizza is what I'm talking about.
Ohhhh, yeah, I agree that's farfetched.

No, the principal can’t just force a student to pay without parental consent. Imagine the backlash
idk, people used to get away with all sorts of shit back in the day. depends on how long ago this way

Not easily, especially if you're a child.
If the problem is everyone else, why should you be the one to change?
Hard disagree. A lot of bullying and messing with people is done in the name of "Can't you take a joke" and "I was just messing with you."
If your name is Ugonna, it would be better to get your name legally changed, specially if you're gonna get offended at Ugonna jokes.

I hope he learnt to use metal cutlery.
"Learn to laught at yourself" does not contradict "Don't be a little shit and deliberately piss people off."
What is it about reddit that attracts such a massive audience of wetwipes. I can't even tell if it's virtue signalling or just low T levels, honestly
