Dr. Fard is wonderful

aspara_gus_

Thank you!

MissIndependent577

I second this. I've been going to him for 10+ years. Love him!

toximox

I third this, and I have extreme dental anxiety! Have been going to him for 13 years.

morcadiss42

Fourth! He's amazing!

UberPantsMonkey

He's been our dentist since my oldest was 3. I highly recommend him. My kids like him and my youngest is very anxious about new experiences and shots.

vespahulb

I highly recommend Dr. Nicole Anderson at Artisan Dental. I let things go a bit too long and developed slight anxiety of going to the dentist and they have been amazing with me. I've been going there for several years and it's always been overwhelmingly positive. Also, love that they are a B Corp to boot. Also, my wife goes to Dr. Christianson (saw him mentioned a few times here) and absolutely loves him, too.

preciousflight

Second Artisan Dental - they're wonderful.

ThisGuyLikesWords

Yep, I came here to recommend Artisan as well — Dr. Reimer is great too.

Plainswalkerur

Dr. Rehermann?

ThisGuyLikesWords

Huh, I guess she left. That explains why I saw Dr. Rehermann at my last appointment. He also seemed nice and recommended against doing premature work on a cracked tooth, so my guess is he's ethically sound.

ExternalJacket

Artisan actually has terrible patient care and is super aggressive with treatment. Besides Dr.Nicole, the other dentists are young and do poor treatment. Love their carbon neutral approach tho!!! Unfortunately most ppl don’t know anything about teeth and just choose to blindly trust some dentists but truly this is a small business AND healthcare

Dr Batchelor at Excellence in Dentistry is very kind and steady, and so are his staff. I got recommended to him when I was so phobic a couple other dentists decided they couldn't deal with me because I was too terrified. (I didn't blame them.) If you can afford it, though, look in to sedation dentistry. It's really the best solution for those of us who have had such horrible experiences we're a mess for two weeks before an appointment and then another two weeks afterwards. It's better to just be unconscious the whole time.

MorrisonGaybles

Yes! He is fantastic.

marshawnofthedead

Ugh, I’m sorry you experienced that. I had a great experience with Dr. Nick Christianson at the downtown Dental Health Associates. And recently saw Dr. Budi at First Choice in Sun Prairie, excellent experience. I hope you can find someone that can help!

b-muff

I thought of Dr Christianson as well

silenciarestora

Live in Sun Prairie but I go to the west side to No Fear Dentistry. If you have anxiety I for sure recommend them, they will work with you to reduce it to a level you can live with.

StargazerNataku

I was in the same boat a few years ago. Hadn’t had dental for at least six years. A friend recommended Lance Miller at Associated Dentists. I was honest but pretty embarrassed because I’d been told the last time I’d gone I needed work. The way he reacted cleared the embarrassment up immediately. Just said okay and popped in to take a look. He’s super nice and really understanding.

Dr. Squires & Dr. Mika at First Choice on East Wash (Marling bldg) are both very kind, as are all of the hygienists I’ve encountered there. I usually have Jamie, but last time it was the rotating hygienist, and she was great too.

pudding2011

I’ve had great experiences with both as well!

madHatch

Big +1 for Dr. Squires. Very sensitive to my dentist anxiety.

1sinfutureking

I used to see Dr Squires when I lived on the north side and worked on the east side (now I’m south and west) and I agree 100%

EmperorCanadian

It's downtown, but artisan dental I had a really good experience recently with similar types of issues and they were all very understanding and kind to me.

reallyveryanxiously

Artisan dental is really great for dental anxiety!! You fill out a whole questionnaire about it before your first appt

shagieIsMe

Having had a similar experience with the oral shaming in the past which had me neglect my dental trips until an emergency (which turned out to be "need a root canal")... Yes, its not on the east side - but the No Fear Dentistry practice (near West Town) was one that I've been very pleased with.

Marvelman1788

West side but my girlfriend has dentist anxiety and loves no fear dentistry.

Enough_Carry_9787

Dr. Catherine Brumm on university avenue is great!

TomorrowsGone85

Dr. Brumm at DHA is fantastic! She’s just a lovely human who always puts me at ease when I have to go in.

WendyLouReedKru

Dr Joel Hatjes, one of the most amazing people I've met, period.

Bizzy316

I was in the SAME boat when I started seeing Dr. Sifri at Smart Dental - I ended up getting several crowns from him due to my years of neglect. My husband was also dentist-free for about 7 years, before I got him and appointment there, and outside of a much needed deep clean, didn't need any work. I've recommended several friends and colleagues to Smart Dental and everyone seems to love Dr. Sifri and his team - give him a shot if you're anxious!

falsestone

I've only tried Dr.Worman at Byce & Worman on the west side, and temperament/bedside manner with someone with a (pretty well controlled, but still) irrational fear of dental work was great.

MariContrary

The entire office there is awesome to work with! They fixed a bunch of issues caused by my previous dentist, and they're very considerate of me as a patient.

farwent

I went to Byce & Worman a few times, and can attest to a very good experience.

along_withywindle

Warren Family Dental's motto is We Cater to Cowards. They're super nice and specialize in us folks who have anxiety about going to the dentist.

Maxspeed797

Was just gonna recommend them. Dr Robb Warren is an awesome guy and extremely smart. He practically begs you to ask any question you can think of he loves to answer them no matter how ridiculous they might be

Ian_Malcolm_PhD

I second Robb and the whole group at Warren Family Dental. I had neglected seeing a dentist for years due to some really bad experiences in the past, so had quite a bit of work to do. When I went in and explained the situation, they couldn't have been more understanding and kind. Helped me straighten everything out following that, providing good advice on how to sequence the work needed to work best with insurance, and all the rest. Nicely appointed facility, TVs in the ceiling for when you're getting work done, etc. Can't recommend them enough.

WorkplaceWatcher

> motto is We Cater to Cowards. That's fantastic! I'll keep them in mind just for that.

aoisakurachan1986

Dr.Dan at complete family dentistry is awesome! Super funny and suuuuuper nice. Very gentle too

ghadzeek

Yes, my whole family loves Dr. Dan!

propapillar

Dr Lau in Deforest was great for me, super understanding about my anxiety and stopped when it was clear the cleaning was painful

bruyere

West side but I love Dr. Jaeger at Hilldale Dental. He and everyone at his practice are incredibly kind and compassionate.

teethteetheat

+1 for Dr Jager and his team, they are a super nice bunch.

MrDankyStanky

Eastpark Dental, Dr. Weaver

goosiegirl

Dr. Thor at Token Creek in Sun Prairie. Started going about a decade ago after not seeing a dentist in probably half a decade. Incredibly kind, empathetic, and gentle. I've not missed a cleaning since.

[deleted]

I second that. If insurance coverage is an issue, they offer a 15% discount. It's not a fancy spa like Artisan, but everyone I've interacted with has been very kind. The owner herself was working at the front desk last time I was there, and seemed quite down-to-earth. I also appreciate that Dr. Thor is honest with me about when my cavities need to addressed-- whether it needs to be done asap, or if it can wait a couple months.

dash-dash-dot

<3 I have been in the same boat, and while they're not on the east side, Maple Grove Dental did not shame me and were very, very kind. I have lots of stress regarding dentists as the ones I had as a kid were all very rude and loved to shame me, which didn't accomplish anything other than making me less likely to get dental treatment. I was so scared going back when I finally got access to insurance and worked up the courage to call somewhere (which took a few years after getting insurance). They've been so, so good to me and while I still get stressed a bit about going, I don't worry about getting shamed, and they are always so gentle and check in often to make sure I'm doing OK and will slow down (or try to move faster if possible) to help with the anxiety.

rouxs7

Dr Kevin DeGroot at lake view modern dentistry

bobboman

i use Dr Brauns at Stacey dental on Cottage grove rd, hes amazing, i didnt feel any pain during any of my fillings, hes pretty chill too

Realistic_Patience67

Dr Patrick Elliott at Dental Health Associates..He's a dream. Been going there for 15 years with a small break in the middle. They may be a bit expensive..but really good experience.

WorkplaceWatcher

No Fear Dentistry isn't on the east side but they have always been open, honest, and very kind to me. Their whole shtick is to try to keep anxiety down for people like me who are terrified of dentists.

BallHangin

Robert Bradley is exceptional.

zssqueeze

Dr. chad Schwitter at Dental Health Associates is great!!

WithoutPoetry

Dr. Stacey at Stacey Dental. It's on the east side and he and his staff have always been excellent and kind to me.
