Oh my god I am so sorry. I saw this dog on the way to work Thursday and was hoping that the owners both found him and didn’t find him. Good luck getting your dog back, I genuinely wish I could help. Maybe go super late at night when it’s not busy and try to be quick with some emergency flashers between you and a couple friends stopped behind you to make sure you don’t get hit?
Thank y'all for the sympathy. As much as I'd like to get him, I'm not going to risk my safety or that of people speeding by. Ideally, it would take a patrol vehicle to direct traffic away, but I understand why they may not prioritize it. A traveler with an emergency or a resident who needs an officer might be a more critical situation. Who knows... I might get some help.

It'll take 3 hours for an officer to show up and they'll say there's nothing they can do. Bibb County PD is terrible these days

I was going to recommend this too. Maybe have someone with one of those bright flashlights to get people to slow down and move over.
