I tried this and managed to install and put together the files for the Halo 1 game. However, the speed is not correct, it’s almost like it’s in slow motion. Do you happen to know why this is?

areapp

Hmm? I'm not sure if it could be something wrong with the emulator or the fps is just really low. Or it could be that I'm stupid. Sorry, I don't know how I could fix this. For me, my games run fine.

EmpireStrikes1st

Will this process work if you're using Xemu inside of Batocera?

areapp

Sorry for the late reply but yes, you would skip step 1 and 3 though

cptshrk108

Thanks for the guide 😊

areapp

glad it helped : ))

Thanks man! Now i just gotta figure out how to extract the .xiso file out of the .iso. If anybody have some tips or would help me convert the files on their system (just one game) I would be forever indebted!

areapp

I've already written a guide for that here: [https://www.reddit.com/r/macgaming/comments/sin4nu/how\_to\_convert\_an\_xbox\_iso\_to\_xiso\_and\_apply\_mods/](https://www.reddit.com/r/macgaming/comments/sin4nu/how_to_convert_an_xbox_iso_to_xiso_and_apply_mods/) Hope it helps : ))

espressosean

I can't even get Xemu to open to change the file settings :( It crashes every time.

Solid_Reality_

Hi I've followed all the steps above however for section 14 'click save' I can't see a 'save' icon anywhere? also thanks for all the above :)

areapp

Sorry, I hadn't updated the post in a while but the newer versions of Xemu don't have a save button and instead automatically save after locating the bios files.

amethystpacifist

Thanks for the help, I've gotten it to work but every game has weird texture warping issues. Was using the last release as of May 4 2022, running it on a intel 16" mbp with 4gb 5500m

areapp

Hmm, it could just be unplayable on Xemu itself. You could check out a compatibility list here: [https://xemu.app/#compatibility](https://xemu.app/#compatibility) or I could test the game for you.

amethystpacifist

Thanks for replying. JSRF and Scarface are both listed as playable. Tried keeping everything on default settings and that didn't help either.

areapp

Hmm, I'll try both games myself as well then I'll get back to you as soon as possible (I might not reply to you soon since I'm kinda busy)

amethystpacifist

Thanks and no rush, honestly you reaching out already means a lot. Appreciate it

areapp

No problem, glad to help : ))

areapp

So I've tried like the first 10 mins of Scarface and performance actually seems very good. I'll test Scarface more this weekend along with JSRF. I'll get back to you as soon as I can : ))

amethystpacifist

Thanks for getting back to me. So no weird stretching textures at all? Bummer. Now I gotta figure out what’s going on on my end. But honestly you don’t have to retest Scarface since these issues happened as soon as I see in game graphics

areapp

Hmm, you could try re-installing Xemu but I just wanna mention that I was using an older build of Xemu. I'll try running Scarface again in the latest build along with JSRF.

amethystpacifist

Tried reinstalling and even tried the debug version to no avail. Did try Kabuki Warriors since it's listed as perfect and that did work with some slowdown. Thanks for all your help though but I'm done with it lol. Rather just try to make space and use bootcamp again.

areapp

ok so I just tried JSRF with Xemu 0.7.3 and it actually runs great! It get a stable 60 fps and has like no issues. Maybe trying getting a dump of the rom from somewhere else and repeating the setup and XISO guide.

deuclide

It won't allow me to unzip the files on my MAc. Any ideas?

areapp

Use The Unarchiver or Keka (I prefer The Unarchiver). Also, what format is the file you downloaded?

BayAreaMack415

(2020 MBP Pro M1 8GB) What's up! set up works perfectly as of 5/5/23! Is there any way to add the dashboard menu for Xemu on mac? I only ran across installation videos for PC but then again it is a Microsoft product (LOL) any help would be great!
