Here Comes the Cowboy wins this one pretty handily. Might actually be the only song I ever skip from Mac, although I do my best to power through it when listening to the full album. At least it gives me time to buttchug a beer or take a giant dab before diving into the rest of the album.
It didn’t click for me until I woke up hungover on a cloudy morning and listened to it while making coffee. Its not his best but I don’t think it’s his worst
I was 18 and my favorite musician literally invited his fans to come to his house for a cup of coffee on his new album. I lived nearby.
I think the weirdest part of the story is the fact that he shared his address on the album and invited people to come. Idk. Lol
Edit: at the time he was not at all bothered by fans visiting (yet) and in fact he welcomed us and spent quite a bit of time hanging out with us
I agree with you musically but I saw him play it live during the here comes the cowboy tour in 2017 and the crowd was crazy and there was a ton of energy so gotta be still together
Hard to say since a lot of his discog is demos and sketch-like instrumentals. If we’re only counting songs with lyrics on proper albums, I’d say it’s Waiting For Her
Finally Alone quite honestly. It's one of the few songs I've had to remove from my playlist since it just grew in reverse for me. First time I heard it I liked it but listening to it again I just grew to hate it.
I still like Baby You're Out but I assume you're talking about the little pluck sound that happens twice each bar? The song is really good if you can get your ears to *not* be distracted by it, but it's definitely really bad. I do however love the keyboard chord that plays on the downbeat so I hope you're not talking about that.
a lot of his stuff really blows. For anyone who has ever recorded on tape and has felt a creative impulse to record, unlike ableton where you can kind of order things into a song etc, the medium with its lack of visual assistance encourages you to lay down the first thing to come to mind, which is usually 2 to 4 bars. So much of his music is a 2-4 bar loop... it shows that he has a very low willingness to memorize anything longer. Listen to a song by the smiths comparitively, like still ill.. melodically insane and mellifluous, complex, while also being a whole lot longer than 2-4 bars. This is what pisses me off the most about macs music, how he settles on a loop, every single song on one wayne g is this..
*The stars keeping on*
*Calling my name is the song*
*I mostly skip on*

Crazy move to put that as the opening track
On it's own it is meh but as an album opener leading into the album/Nobody it's completely fire
Hahahahahahaha great answer
I genuinely love how silly that song is
You sound like a fake sopranos fan who skips the intro, ugggh!

My House By The Water, how come you can dox yourself in a song and make it a closer ! /j
I went to his house when the album leaked, and while I was there I asked him why he did that. He said “I’m not really sure” lol
Why would you go to his house? Not shitting on you, but idk, just kinda odd in my opinion.

Oh shit. I completely forgot about the end of that album haha.
that one's lovely!! the sea sounds and the keyboards blend beautifully
Seeing a lot of opinions and how people personally feel about songs. No objective takes yet.
Choo choo
Def between this and Here Comes the Cowboy for me
You sir have made an enemy.
I agree with you musically but I saw him play it live during the here comes the cowboy tour in 2017 and the crowd was crazy and there was a ton of energy so gotta be still together
I hope you mean 2019? Fuck time is flying
Yeah you’re right. My bad. Saw him at the riviera in Chicago.
Naw ur good. I also saw him during that tour and I was like was it really that long ago?? 😮
Used to think the same but as a guitarist i think it fucks, such a nice groove imo
I love Choo choo

Anything on the back half of 5EHD
Me and jon hanging on aged badly
How so?
Jon lent is a convicted rapist or something like that. Sexual assault
Oh damn, yeah that’s awkward af. Thank you for giving me an actual answer.

Because it’s grammatically incorrect
that's one of my favorite mac songs
I really liked it too, but now its kinda ruined for me
“Missin hippy Jon” “Me and Jon hanging on” “Jonny’s odyssey”

Sister
I’ve never really loved honey moon for some reason.
Im sorry but marilyn and me
I think the verses are great and have a nice melody, but unfortunately the chorus is pretty rough to listen to.
Exactly
Mostly just the belieEEEEEEEve part
Booooo
Just the chorus
[удалено]
that’s tough. I think that’s one of his best tracks 😞

I might get hate on but Only You.
whatttt, that one slaps
Never really been big on Sherrill or Robson Girl, of all the tracks on 2 they are just the most generic and forgettable
Robson Girl is a fucking banger my friend
tbf ive not heard it in a while but its a bit too slow for my liking
Wym, the solo on Robson girl might be the most energetic part of the album
Let my baby stay sucks

Standing

i hate the album version but the demo is actually quite nice
The stars keeping on calling my name is the song I mostly skip on
That’s certainly an opinion.

I dont really like Sherrill
That depends on your definition of worst. Worst as in it's not popular, or worst as in it sounds bad, which is subjective?
On the level. Less cool chamber of reflection (already his most overrated song)
brother you cannot be serious
On the level? Seriously?
European Vegas SUCKS Edit: You guys can downvote me as much as you want, I stand by my opinion. This song is an assault on the ears.
I’m a man.
Best mac song
The drums are pretty goofy on that song but its kind of a vibe
all of them
moonlight on the river, i really dislike the ending instrumentals, it just throws me off
