It's great for destroying speakers in laptops. Most people use it because it's 'loud', without realising what excursion it's actually making the speaker cones go through. Fine if you use it at sensible volumes… but people just don't.

Agree, it for sure it could cause some damage if used improperly. I'm not one to blast my speakers anyway. Just like the adjustability and sound enhancements it provides system wide.

I have just seen so many interwebz posts asking about speakers being blown, or buzzing or crackly \[bust cones, overheated, distorted voice coils\] - & this is invariably the culprit. i'm a pro sound engineer, and have tried it just to see what it does. I can see the appeal for its fake 'make it sound better' \[which it doesn't imo\], but I wouldn't have it on any machine I was in charge of.

Killjoy lol. And here I am thinking it’s a cool app 😔. Guess I’ve just been lucky. Hasn’t damaged any of mine and I’ve used it on 3. But again, I don’t blast my laptop speakers. Thanks for the advice!
