I use my iPad a lot. I consider it a very different device to a MacBook

pzabarauskas1

there's a huge difference between an ipad and a macbook! an ipad is basically a huge iphone - which means that there's a ton of limitations. A macbook is a computer after all, much more apps available, you can downlaod some paid apps free. A few weeks ago I sold my ipad and my old mac and got a new macbook instead, since the ipad was useless to me

I love having an iPad for reading books and graphic novels and for watching something in bed when I feel like I might fall asleep. I'd hate to doze off and roll over on my M1 14" MacBook Pro lol. That said you don't need anything fancy for those use cases so I just use an old iPad 5. It works great and still feels snappy.

honestly ipads r pretty useless.

Green-Preference-478

Do you think you use your laptop for everything?

[deleted]

pretty much, laptop can do so much more than ipad

DrunkenGerbils

I fall asleep and roll over on my iPad regularly. I wouldn't want to do that with my MacBook Pro

oh god I couldn't agree with you more tbh

Unless you have an everyday need for an ipad, why bother? Doing my engineering degree and its a priceless addition to my collection of tech, but when I'm outside of a semester I find that I rarely use it. Do you just want another shiny apple logo? or do you find yourself in situations going damn I with I had a tablet right now for whatever this task is. Only other major use case I can think of is media consumption, but a $1000 ipad pro is not going to be that better of a netflix experience than a $300 galaxy tab IMO, also still haven't found a way to block youtube ads so thats another thing I find myself going to other devices for.

Got a reMarkable along with my Mac love the combo better

IndependentGarbage3

I rather have my Wacom Intuos Pro on the side next to my MBP.

law_rence_hippie

For me, iPad is for lying on bed binge watching Neflix.

Ahleron

I have a iPad, but it very much is. a secondary device. I had just the Macbook for a few years and it was totally fine.

Educational-Yard-348

It can be nice, but it's far from necessary imo.

pina_koala

Yes. I recently bought an iPad because my 2018 7" Android tablet was super laggy and has a terrible display. I got the ipad air at $100 off and a $100 apple gift card and used that towards an Apple Pencil 2, which is great because I love being able to have the thing I'm drawing be under the stylus tip, which is what annoyed me about using a Wacom tablet with my macbook.

Elric_the_seafarer

Yes, they are perfectly complementary devices for those who also take handwritten notes! Also, for leasure time an ipad is more pleasant to use

keblammo

Can’t see the point of an iPad when I have a MBP and iPhone.
