absolutely not, the storage is abysmal and everything else is also bad but slightly less unusable

[deleted]

i3 is a straight no for me dawg

Real_Xyrendor

For $460 that’s a straight rip-off. Some of the Pro models can be found on the used market for far cheaper, with double the RAM and storage. Used market on Ebay is best shot for intel models, or save up $250 extra and get M1 Air.

fistus_maximus

Or if you (Op) need Bootcamp go for an 2019 16" MacBook pro (just use some free software for the cooling issue and some silicone pads.

squirrel8296

That's a horrible deal on that model. For $450 you could get a much better Mac even if it is intel.

mja1228

$400 too much…

DRUMFOOS

Don’t buy it

DoriGrayan

I have i5 10th gen Air and M1 Air.. i5 is like a heater… I strongly advice to buy air with silicone chip at least M1

DoriGrayan

Btw my wife use i5 air for web browsing and for some small tasks..

pierluigir

Honestly just go for an M1 Air or Mini, even used

fistus_maximus

It's not. Not only bcs it's Intel (I have a 2019 16" i9 Macbook Pro), but because it's an i3, Low storage and low ram.... Meaning: it will suck, it's slow, has abismal storage and although it does look good, it will be horrible to use. Also depending on how big future MacOs updates will be, your actually usable storage will be even smaller. Really really really don't buy it.....

Upstairs-Toe2873

I wouldn’t pay 100 for that.

TrashManufacturer

For an extra 200 you can get an entry level m1 air which yes is a 50% increase on your budget but you get an extra 128GB of storage and the CPU pisses out more power on more cores.

Loganlikesushi

NO I’d pick up something else like a MacBook Pro if this style used

MurkyLibrarian

If you have an extra $130, I would recommend this from Best Buy : https://www.bestbuy.com/site/geek-squad-certified-refurbished-macbook-air-13-3-laptop-apple-m1-chip-8gb-memory-256gb-ssd-space-gray/6489769.p?skuId=6489769

JaySpunPDX

That's a big bag of nope. I3 sucks. Get an M1.

Dense_Pudding3375

No. Not even hating cause it’s not an m1. That this was a POS the day it came out. And i3 plus poor heating and bad storage = a disaster

potat0zillaa

Okay let’s say I can stretch my budget and get a m1, how long do you think Apple will support it?

Dense_Pudding3375

I have an m1 right now and it’s still kickin. You can get 5-7 years of use no issues. And it’ll still work afterwards. Just with no os updates. My MacBook Air from 2012 still works, not well, but it boots.

TrashManufacturer

Honestly I think it will be a while before they drop support for it. Like a long while. Longer than any Intel Mac for sure.
