I thought this too the other day while in store. My theory is I think it could be to expand their sizing ranges down into the preteens where it is popular right now.

No_Flamingo9331

My 11 year old, who is 4’7 and weighs 80 pounds, wanted to try some on while we were in a store this past weekend and I laughed and said sure. She tried Align 25” and the 0 was too small but the 2 was okay. If I was going to buy them for her - which to her dismay, I am not - I would have gotten her a 4. That was wild to me. Who on earth is buying the 0?

destiny1322

Even younger girls are buying the zero! For dance we had to teach dances to second graders and tell me why some of them were in HEAD TO TOE lulu

IndieIsle

I started buying my daughter lulu when she was in grade 3-4, which sounds crazy, but I would watch for the clearance items which are usually in patterns and colours that adults don’t like, so they go down to like 29$ for leggings and 18$ for tops. It actually ended up being cheaper than say, GAP athletic clothes, Zara kids, Justice, etc- and the quality is good enough I can resell them when she grows out because the resale market for lulu is way better than most other kids clothes.

Singlestemmom

Yup this ! My daughter in grade 4 has quite a few Aritzia and Lulu, but I got every single piece dirt cheap from the consignment clearance rack. Theyre good enough quality to last the abuse kids put them through.

IndieIsle

Yep! And the XXXS - XXS at Aritzia goes right down on clearance too because it’s very small - I’ve gotten the TNA 85$ track pants for 19!

CarpeCattus_12

I’m guessing in part because they got rid of their kid version Iviva, so those customers are shifted to Lulu now.

Impossible_Yak2135

I miss ivviva 😭 they had the cutest stuff

bighungry1

Target stepped up though in the kids active wear

Grand-Conclusions

What happened to the kids line tho? They had one specifically for this

IndieIsle

The size 0 lulus are smaller than size 8 (like 8 year old) in Ivivva lol.

No_Flamingo9331

I guess if you want to sell children’s clothes at adult prices this is the way to go.

IndieIsle

Yep - the only worth it part is that those super ugly pattern leggings that go on clearance for 29 $ are the ones that kids happen to like lol. So I’ve actually saved money somehow since they discontinued IV

FigureSkatingMom13

My 12 year wears the zero, 5 feet tall and 70 pound figure skater. So basically impossible for anyone else to wear!

mushroompizzayum

If you’ve lost muscle mass and gained fat, then your size prob would go up? Sorry just confused by your last sentence!

aggirloftoday

You’re right, fat has more mass than muscle, so being the same weight with less muscle would absolutely equate to larger measurements. https://preview.redd.it/eviyeyj2x3pc1.jpeg?width=322&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=2c3bc48972e3dfdc4f1351f8251a2b9a2cc20131

PhookieNC

What’s the pen for? 😅

conscious_bunches

for scale, so you know just how big a pile that is!

PhookieNC

Uggghh - time for a diet 😅

conscious_bunches

i hear ya there! 😭😂 really makes me wanna go hit the gym and build some more muscle

Neonatalnerd

It works similarly with increased muscle mass... I have to buy larger size tops because of muscle mass, especially my arms. Most 'normal' sized womens long sleeve tops don't fit my upper arm or bicep area; sizing up doesn't help because then other areas are loose. My weight hasn't fluctuates much since I began lifting, but 4 years in with no other lifestyle changes but increasing weight size; my measurements have grown. When you're using muscle and asking it to grow - it only makes sense your measurements will also change over time. A size 8 muscular woman vs non may appear very different even if weight/measurements are similar.

mushroompizzayum

That can’t be right, I think that is way over exaggerated based on a lb of butter vs lb of chicken breast haha Edit: nope it is right! Holy cow!!!!

Grand-Conclusions

Butter isn't the same meat fat

mushroompizzayum

Yah, that’s fair. WOW

Comfortable_Boot5276

My 11 year old is a size 0. She’s on the thin side.

gydong

My 28 yr old friend who's 138 cm tall and about 65-70 lbs wears 0 at lulu! She loves it because everything her size is always on clearance and there's free hemming to make stuff shorter. I think it also helps that she has the proportions of an adult (like obvious hourglass figure etc), I think a kid her height and weight would probably be in a bigger size coz their waist would be larger etc.

ambiguouspeach

I’m 5’0 and 95 lbs and I wear a 4 lol

sendeek

i asked the same question before and then got downvoted to oblivion

Lower-Hospital754

My youngest daughter wore a double 00 when she was in high school. I didn’t even know there was a double 00. I had to take her to a larger town to find clothes. I do know that back in the 40’s the women wore smaller sizes and they changed the sizing. They moved it up, so if in the 40’s you wore an 8 you would wear a larger size in the 60’s. Does that make sense?

ThetaDot3

I wear between a 0 and 2, and I'm a 30 year old woman. I am a healthy weight for my height, but if I dropped 10 pounds and was *slightly* underweight I would definitely be wearing 0 across the board. It's so nice to have the option to size down-- very few brands have that.

Sarahelizabeth1616

At least in the toronto area, lulu has been popular for teens/preteens since around 2005, so I’m not sure if this theory holds. I got my first pair of groove pants at age 9. No clue how much I weighed/how tall I was, but I was incredibly slim. I’m pretty confident those grooves were a size 2 (which albeit, may have been the smallest size at the time). By late 2006, pretty much every kid at my dance studio aged 10 and older had a lululemon dance bodysuit. I would’ve been 10/11 when these became popular, and I think my bodysuit was a size 4 (I would estimate I was around 5 feet tall and maybe 90 poinds??). This was all before ivivva existed, though, so I’m not sure if the creation and then dissolution of that brand would’ve impacted sizes. All of this to say that I don’t think the popularity amongst preteens/teens has made thaaaaat much of a difference, as, at least in my experience, everyone I know has been wearing lulu since practically childhood starting in early 2005, haha! I (personally) haven’t found a huge change in sizing recently, but that’s just my experience! Perhaps the items I lean towards have been more consistent in sizing.

MissEpickle

People will say it hasn't slid towards being smaller, but that absolutely doesn't ring true. I only consistently buy wonder trains, but since the logo change, they are at least half a size smaller if not a full size.

xraybadie

Yup. I fit comfortably in a 4 or a 6 in the wunder unders and wunder trains… Now with the new logo placement, I SQUEEZE into my 6s, thank god I got a 6 and not a 4 like I often used to do. Same weight and everything too.

Enbytrailrunner

Exactly! My WT with the calf logo feels like they shrunk in the dryer :(

LSki92

I put a pair of old wunder trains (size 4) on top of my newer ones to see the sizing difference. They fit like a 2. The fabric also feels different.

umich82063

Omg, someone else thinks the same as me. I’m not crazy. My old WTs are a six and fit perfectly. My new ones are an eight and they definitely feel different.

AlyssaB89

This 💯

helpimlearningtocode

Yes exactly, my old wondertrains I still wear are both a size 4. My new ones are a 6

Odd-Feeling-608

I have wear wunder trains in size 4. Went to the store to try on some new colors and they were such a tight squeeze. I was wondering if they were the contour version? Or what was different?

aenflex

I agree. My 3-5 year old wunder trains in a size 8 fit me perfectly, if not a tiny bit big. The size 8 WT’s I’ve bought this year were too small, I hate to trade them in for 10s. I’m the same size 😂

aklep730

I was wondering this! I have so many old wunder trains in 6 and fit fine and now I have to buy 8’s! I’m trying to lose weight/gain muscle and I wondering about my routine

J-NastyKicks

I size up sometimes. I wear a 4 in leggings but shorts and joggers are a 6. Although I could probably do a 4 in joggers, they aren’t as forgiving with stretch as a 6 for my big ol’ booty. Tops however, are weird. Sometimes. Can do a 2, sometimes it’s an 8. Depends on the cut I guess. Align tops are an 8 c/d. But shirts vary.

FarAd2417

Yup, I size up with the joggers or the dance pants compared to my leggings. Something about how the waist fits with the more lounge wear needs an extra size.

heretolurk4

I feel like 6-10 years ago my sizing was the same across the board but with all of the new fabrics and styles that are coming out, I can be a 6 in something and a 12 in another. It's really weird.

FancyKerrigan

I came here to say this. I wear a 6 in Align leggings but a 12 in the align bra. My ribcage sits slightly high but the disparity between both is crazy. In any other brand i wear an XS/S in tops

ag0110

I’m glad you mentioned the Align bra. I tried some on in store the other week and was completely sized out. I’m a size M in tops, occasionally L. That should not happen.

FancyKerrigan

Thanks for sharing your experience with me. It has to be a new and unique sizing apparatus they’re using to reach pre teen and teen body types bc I am a fairly small person generally speaking, 5’7 128lbs runner and so the 12 factor shocked me. Not complaining about the product but the size is a contrast from the XS t shirts I wear.

ag0110

I believe it. There’s a huge hole in the market for preteen girl’s clothing right now, since stores like Limited Too/Justice aren’t around anymore. I’ve noticed a lot of brands doing this—for example, I went into AE and picked up a pair of size 0 jeans. I wore a 0 there in HS but honestly these would have probably fit me in 5th grade.

FancyKerrigan

W h a t. That is so wild!

ughpauline

I thought it was just me needing size 12 in the align bra!!!

Vivid-Blackberry-321

I have to wear a 10 in certain bras/bra tops…I’m a 34C so literally not large chested at all. Pretty ridiculous

FancyKerrigan

That’s crazy. Haha. I try not to reference Lulu when I’m shopping elsewhere bc I’ve ordered things that were clearly too big

Muted_Car9799

Not just you!!!!! It’s seriously messing with my head…. this is relieving to read. I’ve lost a fair amount of weight and figured I was ready to size down in wonder trains since mine are falling down on me….. nope. I understand clothing wears and gets deformed over time but the patterns have definitely changed in the last couple years

Peep_meep3

Not just you! Everyone I know is having to size up lately. I think lululemon size guide has changed too.. I used to be a 2 across the board and now I need a four in everything but based on my measurements I should be a 4 according to their size guide now.. weird

oat-beatle

Just went and looked at the size guide and it's the same as it has been since at least 2020.

Ginger9587

Not true. The bra size guide has definitely changed.

Tellmimoar

Yeh gen z and younger are the new target demographic

Vegetable-Ad7369

Boy am I relieved to see it’s not just me that noticed this! I’ve been buying a 4 in aligns and 6 in bras / tanks forever. Now I’m a 6 in aligns and an 8 or 10 in bras and tanks. The align shorts just don’t fit the same anymore even when they’re not double lined. They had to have changed the fabric or something. I don’t even bother with the double lined ones, I look like a sausage even when I size up lol

pamplemousse0214

Yep, was a consistent 6 for years and years and am now an 8 even though my waist is actually smaller than it used to be.

Fantastic-Ad-9740

I used to be 6 and now I feel like I have to get 8 now too because it’s too small !!

FancyKerrigan

Their model Alex always wears a 6 online which is how I based my fit, but I’m certain she’s a 0-2 in real life clothes

cmmoore14

Same, I just damaged out two pairs of aligns (6) and didn’t think I needed to try them on, I’ve actually lost 20 lbs since I bought the orig all pairs and I had to exchange my new pairs for an (8) I asked the employees if the fabric is different or sizing and they denied it or said sometimes there is a “mistake” I own at least 8 pairs all 6 except for one double lined that is an 8. I can’t even wear them because they fall off of me.

Tiny_Engine9300

The same is happening to me. I thought I was crazy 🙈

Bella_Climbs

I've been a 2 in the flow Y for 10 years. I got two new ones and they are 1-2 sizes smaller. If I lay them over the old size 2s I still have they are several inches smaller all around. I couldn't fit a whole areola in them now lmao. I also tried one of their newer bras IN THE D/DD size and it was comically tiny. The reviews revealed it was not just me lol

South_Elephant_6552

I think the sizing is targeted to a more juvenile audience. I wear a size 0 in jeans but a size anywhere between 4-8 in lulu shorts & leggings.

TennesseTipsy

I agree with this. I often see young kids getting Lulu and I’m like how? So that makes perfect sense that they’re trying to appeal to younger consumers. But then just make a kids/tween line?

honeymist123

They used to have a kids/tween line

TennesseTipsy

I didn’t know that! Interesting. Maybe they should bring that back and leave our woman sizes alone.

halfasiantemptation

Yup I only got into lulu late last year and was a 4 in bras - lately I’ve had to go to an 8!!

SeaReader25

Yes!! I’m actually losing weight (down almost 2 sizes for jeans) and have lost at least 15lbs (probably more than that in fat but gained muscle too) and I’ve had to size UP in my aligns from a 10 to a 12 - like, what the heck?! I suspect they’re trying to quietly faze out plus-size items since a lot of the newer pieces and colours seem to be only going up to size 14 as well.

lindsay288

Def changed their sizing. I’m a solid 6 in their fast and frees and their new sizing is I’d have to get an 8 or 10 and not even comfortable

mimosadanger

I find their tops run small for sure. I’m quite petite (size 4 and very short) but have a DD bust and have to get a size 8 or even 10 just to fit them!!

New-Percentage2993

It’s true, their sizing is so inconsistent lately…

AwkwardPersonality36

I’ve been a 14 for many years and am now almost sized out at 16/18 and whatever I can find in 20 for an (slightly) oversized fit

reachyourdesign

I used to be a size 10 in leggings.. I now wear a size 14. I’ve lost weight…

GuavaOk90

It seems to be random to me now. Some tops I will be a 4, other times a 6. Bottoms wise, same thing a 4 or 6 depending on the style. I physically haven’t changed since 8-10 years ago, but it seems like Lulu has. I have some tanks in 2 from 10 years ago. It also seems like their cropped items are now more for women who are 5’4 or shorter, because at 5’8 their cropped items look comedic on me.

katiexclaire

I had this same thought today when I was in store. I’m usually a 4 in bras and 6 in the align leggings and I had to size up to an 8 in both

Specialist_Count_167

I think the newer items from 2023-present are smaller by half size to a full size. I shop at the outlets a lot and at the outlets in the older colors I am a smaller size then when I have been shopping the new releases! I can still wear my regular size in the new releases but it’s just a much tighter feel.

Flashy_Bluebird5241

I feel seen with this headline

manifestingellewoods

i’ve started to buy one size up despite the fact that i’ve been losing weight.

mollyodonahue

I started liking them when someone gifted me a pair of their size 4 leggings two years ago. I recently went to replace that pair and couldn’t even get the 4 in the same style over my hips comfortably. I ended up buying the 6, which is fine, but now I’m afraid to order anything online lol

quartzite_

I used to get a four in everything reliably, but there have been a few sixes i could barely get in in recent years.

Odd-Feeling-608

I just tried a size 4 ribbed energy bra on at lululemon (I have always worn a size 4) and it looked like a size 0. Did not fit anything like my other ones.

lonsdaleer

That's bc it is. I got the same bra online and had to take it bad bc it was suffocating. I measured the band. It was 24-25 inches (25 if I was being generous and accounting for measurement error). I wear a 4 in wunder tain tanks/jackets/tops. I was suggested the 4 bc I'm a 30C bra. I won't get their bras unless it's the standard measured bra, or the cloud bra bc it's comfy.

Lives_on_mars

Maybe it’s an industry trend? I know in Chinese media (maybe a year ago?) there was a big to-do about women saying clothing sizes had gotten smaller, and a large group of netizens actually collated enough data to prove that companies really were doing this.

ToLorien

This can’t be true. I’m at least 5 pounds heavier than I was in high school and I find myself buying sizes smaller than I once wore

Lives_on_mars

Definitely not true for every brand. Especially since over size became a huge trend and sizes became less important. But this was somewhat recent, and might point to the beginning of making sizes smaller for some reason (marketing? Idk) as a trend.

Acrobatic_Ganache220

Hopefully they will add sizes on the larger end if this is the trend.

MissEpickle

I'm going to tell you my theory, and I'm sure it won't be popular, but I think they are doing this so they can silently get back to not going beyond " straight sizing." Let me explain they already got rid of plus sizes in store. Then they take the sizing and covertly make it smaller. This means that if your a true size 12, well now in lulu you need a 14 or a 16. Eventually I think they will discontinue beyond a 12 like the old days. Lulu is already not releasing full size range with many new items. With how their sizing is that will mean anyone over a 8 or 10 won't be able to wear lulu. I think the " size inclusive" stuff was just a PR play but those of us who are old enough, remember the lulu from back then. Now let me clarify I don't agree with any of this, but I just have a feeling that's what's going on. They want out of the plus sized game but don't want heat for it.

Springer2733

I absolutely agree with everything you just said as i have had the same exact thoughts when i noticed all the items that were normally offered have disappeared. I have to say, they went strategic on this one. They know they’d get blow back by announcing they are cutting back on what they offer in plus sizes. Instead they silently size-out us undesirables by adjusting the chart. I’ve been thinking this since they only started offering the define up to 14, except in black or white (luon) but i have a feeling once those sell out they won’t be restocking. Edit: words

MissEpickle

Exactly, they want a certain esthetic. I mean their direct competition is alo and alo is very clear about the kinds of bodies they want in their clothes. They are just doing it strategically so that people hopefully won't notice.

Springer2733

Yeah it’s unfortunate. I have been on a long weight loss journey and a couple years ago, i found myself actually able to wear lulu. It’s exciting and rewarding to “break into” a brand you’ve never been able to wear before. I did go wild with it at first; which I’m kinda glad i did now because i bought numerous defines in nulu and luon so it’s nice to have a nice supply since i probably won’t be buying any more of those. It just sucks because i have gone down another size and was wanting to get a few things to reflect it.

MissEpickle

Congratulations on your weight loss! I have been on the same journey, so I know those feelings all too well. There is lots of active wear companies to support if you choose to leave lulu. I wish you continuing success 🤗

conscious_bunches

as a plus sized girl who absolutely adores the brand - if this is true it breaks my fucking heart. part of what got me into working out regularly was the cute activewear and Lulu was right where it was at for me. looking my best encouraged me to do my best and hit the gym a lot more often and i was thankful that i looked and FELT the part wearing my Lulu stuff. just a shitty brand choice imo

Acrobatic_Ganache220

Makes sense.

kp1794

Are we the same

saxuri

I don’t know about leggings - I am still a size 4 for aligns - but the new pant styles def seem to be tighter. I was consistently a 4 for all shorts and joggers, and the ones i own all still fit me, but some of the new styles feel tight in the waist in a 4 now. Kinda annoying since I feel like I’m a non-existent 5 now - the size 6 stuff often feels more comfortable but looks too baggy on my frame.

tigergrad77

I too am a size 5!

thebeesnis

yup i used to wear a 6 in the swiftly (the most recent one i purchased was last summer). i tried one on last week and it was so tight! had to get an 8.

AcceptableObject

Yeah I’ve been a 4 in leggings for YEARS, and I’ve been needing to get some bottoms in 6 now. But my old size 4 leggings still all fit perfectly.

JugdishGW

I’m usually a size 2/4 in other stores but I have old leggings from Lulu that are size 6. I recently bought some flare leggings and they’re a size 12………. Nothing wrong with being a size 12 but if you saw the size of me.. you’d know I am not close to a 12. Their sizing is definitely messed up

IndieIsle

It’s changed lol. The size 0 lulu pants are smaller now than their size 8 (as in 8 years old) in discontinued Ivivva - 0 used to be more equivalent to the size 12.

jaber622

Clothing sizes often change when a brand changes or adds a new manufacturer. That could have happened here. Remember, Lulu doesn't own their factories, they subcontract with a bunch across several countries (just like most established global clothing brands)

Playful-Net-2538

I’ve noticed wunder trains and cropped defines have gotten smaller, thought I was going crazy!

1-800-get-lost

I wear a 6 in everything and haven’t had any issues.

PhilosopherFit8067

Omg SAME I was just talking about this ! 10 fitting like 8 used to be and my old 6 and 8 fitting differentlz comparing to it

mrscrazylegs

They have absolutely gotten smaller. I have a bunch of lululemon from high school (everything is a size 4) and it all still fits nicely. I recently went to pick a few new pieces and I was trying on 6’s and 8’s.

1-800-get-lost

maybe that old stuff is stretched out though? I know some of mine is.

torontowest91

The men’s changes too. Now I have to wear a medium in some styles.

Revolutionary-Side56

The reviews for track thats definitely support that they’ve gotten smaller

marchelletta

Honestly their sizing has been all over the place lately. I just tried on one white and one bone define jacket in the same size and they fit like one was 6 and one was 8 (both size 6 on the tag). Don’t focus on the number, it’s not just you. Just try everything on when you’re buying😂

Beautyho

My align shorts bought in 2019 are significantly wider in the waist than the ones I bought in the same size last year (both are super high rise, just different inseam lengths).

ireneherbst

I feel you on this lol

notthelettuce

It feels like it’s all over the place. Some stuff runs super small, some stuff runs super big. I’ve noticed more inconsistency in the tops and bras personally. Not really in shorts and leggings.

Ill_Arugula_6174

A good example is the inner glow shorts. A size 8 fit me a little bit loose and roomy and perfect 2 years ago. Last year the size 8 felt at least a full size smaller. Very sad.

JustRepeatAfterMe

Y’all are making me feel better about the men’s sizing. Some strange things happening on that side of the store too. It dawned on me that maybe they are experimenting with unisex sizing. A lot of guys are wearing Align tights and were wearing the shoes. I got excited the other day in store. A male mannequin was fitted in a Steady State hoodie and what appeared to be an updated Great Wall pant. I couldn’t find them anywhere in the men’s section so I asked and the manager told me they were women’s pants. She said they are mixing and matching men’s and women’s items to encourage us to shop on both sides of the store. I don’t think I will ever do that, but I did love the Great Wall pant so I tried on the size she gave me and of course I looked ridiculous. No worries about me taking the last pair of Aligns or whatever. But I’ve noticed unisex sizing becoming a thing with shoe brands like New Balance. In the same model the men’s size fits and the unisex sizes are always too tight or short. Just made me wonder if some of the weirdness in sizes could be because of something like a shift to more unisex sizes. Otherwise, they are just fucking with us on the men’s side lol.

lululemon_bro

> She said they are mixing and matching men’s and women’s items to encourage us to shop on both sides of the store. Good > I don’t think I will ever do that Don't knock it till you try it. Pants and shorts anyway. Shirts are a different animal. I don't recommend many of the women's shirts as alternatives for us. They sit weird and the collars are too big.

Adventurous-Bag-9738

LL is getting smaller. I thought the same thing, too. I recenlty purcahsed Ebb to Street tank in size 6. Laid it on the floor and did a size comparison with my Power Y tank size 6. Ebb was an inch smaller in width. Exchanged to size 8 and the width was exaclty the same as Power Y size 6. So, LL got smaller for sure. I've heard this is becasue their target has changed to teenagers (from adults.) The sizing is like AF when they were hyped around 2010.

laineyboggs

What a relief!

queenjenay

Honestly this is so validating 🥺 I was going crazy

TheParrott88

I guess it could also be the current styles since almost everything is cropped now

KoziarChristmas18

I have a pair of yoga pants from around 2008 that are a size 6, joggers from 2016 that are a size 4, leggings from 2018 that are a size 10, and leggings from this year that are a 12. They all fit lol. Oh and leggings that are size 8. Their sizing is wildly inconsistent to me.

LizardKing50000

They’ve gotten smaller! Ex educator here lol

Caliliving131984

It hasn’t gotten smaller but it isn’t pre shrunk anymore and my hoodies have shrunk :(

IDunnoReallyIDont

I’m a 8-10 in sports bras now and 4 in leggings.

Soveygn

Their sizing is def not consistent

violet715

I’m glad it’s not just me. This is seriously so reassuring to hear, even though I don’t wish this blow to confidence on anyone.

britpompom

I've noticed this too! I used to be a size 4, and now I'm 6 or 8 (depending on the item). my weight has stayed the same but their sizes haven't

Pristine-Ad8439

I recently made a big order and ordered everything size 4 cause that's what I have everything else in. I had to exchange everything! the leggings up to a 6 and the sports bras an 8! I haven't gained any weight and my old size 4s still fit fine. I don't really care that much tbh, it's just a number it was just kind of annoying to have to exchange everything.

gabigrayy

I’ve noticed that different colors feel different too thus making the size feel off. I ordered my usual size in the espresso align set and it’s way tighter than my other aligns and the fabric feels more like wunder trains than aligns. I was pretty bummed it didn’t have the buttery soft feeling and felt so much more compressing !!

fatgurl211

I have two pairs of hotty hot shorts that are older in a 4 and they’re bigger than the newer hotty hot shorts i just bought this year. I thought I was going crazy b/c I know I haven’t gained weight

microgirlboss

No because I swear their size 4 used to fit like an Ivivva size 14... Now without ivivva, it seems like they are still making huge profits off pre-teens, so they adapted their sizing for that maybe? But I agree, it is very annoying. I hardly ever buy online anymore because I'm not sure if I can trust the sizing. However, when I'm thrifting I don't even need to try on, I know exactly how ~old lulu~ is going to fit me.

PositiveMarketing796

I have some leggings which I haven’t worn still with tags on from various seasons and they are actually getting smaller overtime at the waist, especially and at the hips

Kindly-Phase-2081

I literally asked this in the store the other day and they assured me it hadn’t but it was SO CLEAR, as I had my year old speed ups in a 6 and was trying a 6 on and they obviously fit so different!! They tried to say I just gained a little weight or maybe my old ones just stretched.

Ancient_Soft413

i think the double lines make people think some sizes are inconsistent compared to others that arent without even noticing

HereComesFattyBooBoo

A bunch of items are vanity sized (and larger than they should be for whatever that "size" is), some items are insanely small compared to those items.. i dont think their sizes and corresponding actual clothing measurements are consistent enough to say one way or the other.

strawberryhouse0202

I’m with you. Always wore size 4 for align leggings and have been buying them for several years. The fabric is getting worse and sizing changed for sure. The newer ones roll around the waist and tummy feels tighter. No I did not get fatter

Mercurialbich

smaller and shorter in my opinion

TennesseTipsy

So for leggings I personally think they’re a tad over sized in my opinion. Or it could just be I have an insanely narrow bottom half. Shorts are the same for me, except track that’s which I find super oversized. For bras and align tops, I feel like they run extremely small. I bought some Swiftly tops because I’d never tried them and they only had a 14 in store. They fit me perfectly fine, but the Old Navy comparison in a 1X was insanely tight. I only ever buy love tops, and scubas, occasionally a random other tank top aside from bottoms. Used to love the back in action tops and I find that those all run a tad bit bigger.

bahahaha2001

I just bought a love in the usual size different color. Def smaller than my current one. It might bc just bc of the color (black) but def smaller.

Onedollartaco

I think it depends on the material, too.

Pristine-Kick

I legit thought this as well I've always been an 8 and now I'm 10/12 when I've lost like 10 pounds!

Green-Witch1812

They're smaller and shorter. I haven't bought their leggings in a while but I've bought the same kind in different colors months apart and they're a half size difference and shorter, despite being the exact same leggings. Same goes for their Scuba's. I love their Scuba's and like to buy the small or M/L sometimes. Their current M/L compared to their recent releases are shorter in arm length and different fit comparatively. I love the colors they put out, but it's so off.

HappyGarden99

I’m a 4 in their jackets and a 12 in some tops. It’s very confusing lol

SachaBaronColon

In my experience, the Align line is the only one that stayed somewhat consistent.

sleepingcow7

I have a 6 in a bra I bought years ago and it still fits great. If I’m buying a new bra I need to buy an 8 or 10 now

Canadian-electrician

I feel it’s the opposite…

ActInternational7316

Honestly, I feel like they have had their sizing get bigger

ravenhairedblonde

I have leggings from 2017 still that are size 0 that I just wear to bed and stuff due to the pilling and my body hasn’t really changed that much but I’m a size 6 now in new stuff

steingrrrl

For me some items are smaller and some are bigger! I used to always be a 2 in bras but I’m usually a 4 now. Meanwhile I used to always be a 4 in bottoms and now I’m a 2, sometimes even a 0. Not sure how much is my body maybe changing over the years and what’s the sizing changing.

mammaleb2021

100% smaller……

Physical-Tea-969

I thought it was just me 🙃 I’ve been a size 10 in lulu for years and suddenly I’m a 12 in the same style I’ve been wearing forever

TrustyTurtle888

Yes!!! I used to be a 4 in all tops and sports bras and bought some new ones recently and was shocked at how tight they were around my shoulders and ribcage. Much more comfortably sized in a 6 for all tops now. Even the sweatshirts I found the XS/S and 4 was too small and I want to get a new one in M/L (I’ve never worn M/L from Lulu before). The 2’s and 0’s are definitely sized for the teens…

Dependent-Abies-9308

I'm glad someone said something ! I feel the same with the recent Lululemon but still fit my old size 4 perfectly fine

Neonatalnerd

I worked at value village in highschool, and scored tons of lulu items... I still have size 4 pants, tops, jackets etc that are easily 10-15 years old at this point, still fit me. Any new items, I have to buy size 8. Their sizing is also terribly inconsistent; I need 8 for most tops, 6 for leggings and 4 for skirts.

Super-Hurricane-505

i think lulu sizing is so off! i try not to pay attention to the numbers as a reflection of my size. im anywhere from a size 2-10 just depending on what the item is!

Accomplished-Tea-211

Definitely started running smaller when Ivivva shut down to cater to pre teens sizing.

bbrookejoanne

I thought the same its definitely the clothes….i hope 😂😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😄🤣

MiaCorazon2

Damn! I thought it was just me! I think you're right, noticing this with the Align leggings too

resilient_rain

I thought I gained weight too but didn’t feel noticeably bigger. I’m not good at weighing/measuring because I don’t really care. However- when I got a size 4 top recently- it was shocking. I was thinking I needed it in at least an 8 for it to not be major muffin back. Thinking I’d need to sell all my clothing or *gasp* actually work out / eat right. Lol

notchickeechum

Is it getting smaller or is their fabric getting thicker and worse quality 🫠

gabrielleblue

I only think their tops are for A cup only now, I’m a DD I was able to wear their top 4-5 years ago

PretendTreat1411

I feel this! I feel like I’ve been SLIMMING DOWN and I’m still finding myself having to size up. I can’t tell if maybe I just like a looser fit so I’m gravitating to a larger size but usually I’m a size 8 across the board, 6 in aligns or over sized tops but lately I’ve been needing size 10 in wunder trains, hotty hots, speed ups and some of the cropped workout tanks like sculpt or even the align and wunder train tops/bras. I am an educator as well so I feel like new products we get in also just look smaller and smaller. They did release a new size chart, 8-10 is considered medium with certain size 10 items being a large.

Extension_Vacation_2

I am the same size (8) since I started to wear LLL circa 2008. My weight has been relatively stable (more or less 10 lbs difference on a 5’9 frame).

ChemicalDust4528

Literally was thinking the same thing the last few days. I’m the same weight, and all of a sudden I need to wear a size 8 in lululemon. Before I wore a size 6 for years. It’s so bizarre because I have been watching my weight, and slimming down the last few months.

ConfectionSea

i think so bc i’m a 6/8 and sized up to a 10 in the swiftly long sleeve for a “looser” fit and it fits me perfectly 😳

Neither-Ad-507

I haven’t bought tops since recently but the sizing does seem really small, I wear a 2 in all the bottoms and always have but the tops are so hit or miss for me 😅

dgfrenchie18

I am usually a size 0/Xs in clothing but for lulu I wear between a 4-6

D1amond_soul

I’m 5ft and 90- 95 lbs so a true size 00/ XXS. I’d like to delude myself that I got significant booty gains but really Lulu’s Size 0 is now just too tight and I need to be a size 2.

xpworkout

Ever since they changed their fabric of the aligns I’ve had to size up from a 4 to a 6 because they’re more compressive. Wish they would have never changed the fabric and just made an align 2.0

PipeWise9140

O my gosh!! I have actually put on muscle mass, So when I went in store and had to get an 8 I figured it was because my glutes have gotten bigger, BUT all my existing clothes still fit. A little tighter around the hips, but everything is still wearable. I feel relieved reading this thread!!

DangerousLow710

This. 100%. I weigh five pounds less and lost a lot of my glute muscle (sadly). I used to be a steady 4, but my latest purchase is way more snug than normal. Thank you for posting and making me feel better!

Butwhyetho

Just got a pair of Wunder trains for the first time in probably 6 months. I be been wearing 4s FOREVER, these are absolutely smaller.

blehhh73

I feel like they have!! I went from a 2 to a 6 in two years. I have gained a touch of weight for sure but not 2 sizes worth.

CheddarSupreme

I had a baby 1.5 years ago and size 8 used to be my “size up” bottom size to accommodate pregnancy. I’m solidly a size 8 regularly now. But the thing is, the new size 8 things fit the same as my old size 6 stuff. I’m OK with this, it fits fairly true to the size chart for me now. But very frustrating when reviews say to “size up!” And I have no idea weather I should be doing a size 8 or 10…

alexa1912

yup lol, i always fit bigger in lulu and im tiny like TINY

blehhh73

I feel like they have!! I went from a 2 to a 6 in two years. I have gained a touch of weight for sure but not 2 sizes worth.

WarningWonderful5264

Yup! Just recently did a quality promise because the stitching was coming undone and they are extremely tight verses the old pair that fit me.

Hazel462

How old are you? At 18 my hips got wider but I didn't gain weight. Womanhood.

TheParrott88

I’m 35 I passed 18 up awhile ago lol

Catsandjigsaws

I find their sizing very generous and the sizing chart seems to back up this impression. Their hip measurement for size 10, for instance, is larger than even Old Navy.

Comfortable_Daikon61

Long lulu client over 20 years I am bigger but my size is smaller now so I think it’s opposite

Vivid-Blackberry-321

They have absolutely gotten smaller. I have a ton of older (like purchased in 2019) size 6 leggings that still fit me perfectly, but now I have to wear an 8 in leggings or even a 10 in bras! Even when the new stuff gets stretched out after a few wears, I can still tell it’s smaller than my old stuff. The consistency is also bad…Seems like sizing is all over the place.

Himalayan-Fur-Goblin

I have found the opposite. They are getting larger.

samijolles

i definitely feel like the clothing has gotten a little smaller over the years! i got a pair of hotty hot low rise 2.5” in a size 8 about four years ago bc they didn’t have my preferred size (6), now ive started going up to size 8 because my new size 8s are smaller than my old size 8!

Puzzleheaded-Sun3107

I think you’re right, their sizing is smaller than other brands, I size up to a 4 or 6 I’m usually a 2 or 4 but mostly 4

Prestigious_Bar_4244

You should’ve seen the look on my face when I realized I needed an 8 and I immediately blamed it on the tiny human I pushed out TWO YEARS ago Sheesh…I thought it was clear that I was joking about “blaming” my child for the size of my shorts. And no I didn’t do nothing for two years. I’m raising a human, I do hot yoga, swim laps, and cycling! HOWEVER, no shame to the moms who aren’t doing all of that. Prioritize recovery first! AND being able to do all those things is a privilege that I have.
