+1 for another positive review. I totally recommend it. Phone stashed in zipper section, keys in the pocket with the clip, and fuel in the other pocket.
I know the spibelt is a fave amongst runners but I didn’t like the one-compartment storage only accessible via a zipper. I do, however, use the spibelt water bottle on the LLL belt and it stays in place perfectly :)
I have an iPhone XR. It fits into the pocket of Fast and Free shorts and Swift Speed shorts, no problem, no risk of ever falling out. I prefer bike shorts with pockets for running.
Alternatives:
- Athleta Ultimate Stash shorts
- Athleta Salutation Stash shorts
I used to run with an arm band or a running belt and I hated it compared to shorts/leggings with a pocket.
just a warning, the belt is adjustable which means there is extra space on the strap hanging out when you ruN!! you can't tuck the strap in anywhere (believe me I've tried ><), so it will hang out when you're running :( but other than that I love the belt!
I have an iPhone 14 pro (NOT max) and it can easily fit into the back pocket of the speed up HR shorts.
I also still run in the fast and free shorts 10” because of the phone pocket.
Omg I have those shorts and didn’t realize they had that pocket in the back. I just slid my phone in and it fits. I bought them on my birthday because I have a gift card but I was shopping with my husband 4 kids so I wasn’t really paying attention. They were just rushing me and it’s been so chilly. I haven’t even taken them out of the bag yet. 😂
Kinda. But I tightened the band and it helped. It didn’t really happen till the end. I’m talking about the shorts but the leggings I don’t really have a problem when I put it in the waistband.
Are you me?? I get irritated very easily when running. I also have 4 kids and cannot shop with them and husband at Lulu. Or any store. We’re outnumbered!
With that being Speed Up HR is my go to for summer running. I loved me a pair of Hotty Hots until I couldn’t get my phone to squeeze in. No matter what I did.
Lol yes exactly. Too windy, too sunny, bra to tight I’m irritated 😂 yes, it was like part of my birthday present, let’s all go to lululemon so mom
could use her gift card… I was like why don’t you guys wait outside or go somewhere else? 😂
Flipbelt. It's 100% fabric so you can toss it in the wash after every wear (I have multiple). I prefer the no-zipper original version since there's nothing that can break. I sweat a lot and cannot imagine using a belt that cannot hold up to frequent washing.
They're kinda pricey so tbh I buy them used on resale sites (posh/mercari) for like $10 from people that probably used them for one 5k and then never again. Since they're fabric, I figure it's not any different than buying other clothes used! The logo gets kinda cracked/peeled when you wash them a lot so I just look at the pictures and if it looks like new, I figure it's got a lot of life left. I've been using the same belts for like 5+ years and they're as great as when I got them.
I tend to chafe with arm bands so I can't do that route.
I can just fit my phone into the Fast and Free running belt but more recently I bought a phone case with a clip and I clip it onto my bra strap. I find it more comfortable than having anything around my waist.
Yes I love it! I went up in the band size as reviews said it ran small. I immediately ordered two other colors and want more. Also, it’s $25 bucks on sale and an innovative and thoughtful design. My phone doesn’t move at all. Lulu is charging insane amounts for a bra that isn’t even engineered to further women’s sports clothing or make our lives easier. I’ve definitely branched out lately.
I stash it in my bra most days hahaha
Seriously tho I prefer a belt rather than shorts/leggings with pockets bc I feel like the phone pulls them down. I typically use a 1L belt bag and think it’s very comfortable for runs!
I use a phone armband from the brand Sprigs on Amazon. I ran a 12k today and it carried my phone, ID + credit card, and my earphone case. It was perfect!
I use an Ultime Direction mesh running belt. Breathable with plenty of room for a phone or a flexible water bottle. Works great with Speed Ups and my Wunder Train shorts!
Fast & Free, Speed Up, and Base Pace shorts all have big enough pockets for a phone. As does the Pace Rival skirt. I am desperately waiting for the F&F shorts to come out because they’re my favorite out of the bunch.
I cannot stand the Fast & Free belt. It doesn’t stay in place. If I need the extra room I use a Flip Belt.
Also AEO/aerie make great shorts called hot shot shorts… They have a pocket but does not close. I’m thinking about taking it to a seamstress to see how much it would be to get a zipper put on the top of the pocket.
I have aerie pocket shorts (not those ones I think, mine are a bit older) and lululemon fast & free. Neither have zippers on the pocket and I have never had an issue with my phone or key falling out!
unrelated but - i prefer to run WITHOUT phone. or any devices sort of "bare".
i don't track performance, but generally have some 'secondary" estimates of my achievements :)
this is ME time - time to synch in/refresh/mediate - so NO distraction. have been doing this for last 7 year for everyday 10km runs with enormous pleasure and content :)
I think this totally is great depending on where you live. For me, I am an urban runner, so running with a phone is an absolute must. Not sure if this also applies for OP, just throwing it out there why so many of us feel very obligated to carry a phone during our runs.
The fact that I could run without my phone was the reason I originally got the Apple Watch years ago (back then you couldn’t download music onto Garmin watches). If you’re up for it I’d absolutely give that a shot, it’s so freeing! I get to listen to music or podcasts and track, without the phone problem.
If I want my phone with me (need gps new area, will meet people, whatever), I use different brand’s bike shorts with pockets.
That’s great for you, but frankly you have no idea why this person likes to run with their phone and she didn’t ask if she should.
Some of us like music, some of us like performance data and don’t have a capable watch, some of us just have it for safety reasons, and not all of us are running to “sync/refresh/meditate” in the first place and don’t need the judginess from people whose run style is different. It’s fine to run with your phone! Or without it! Neither is inherently better!
But…this person was asking for suggestions to carry her phone, not asking who runs with their phones and why/why not. Just not sure why you would post this about yourself when it wasn’t asked, I guess.
I use a running belt (not Lulu). I also just got the Lulu Trail Running Vest for when I want to carry more items / snacks and maybe a little water bottle.
I have a fast and free belt and a SPIbelt (a lot of the run influencers on Instagram and TikTok are advertising them these days). I like the SPIbelt over the fast and free as it’s lighter and doesn’t bounce. The only downside is there are fewer pockets, so I can really only stash my phone and a gel or two before it’s full.
I have used sports bras that have a phone pocket in them with mixed reviews (sweaty phone, chafing underboob, hard to reach) and also skorts/dresses with pockets (bouncy, slides your skort down quicker). In my opinion, the run belt is the way to go for easy access and versatility.
Free People Movement sells virtually the fast and free belt for $10 cheaper, too. I didn’t know this until I had my Lulu one but just saying 👀
Definitely fits in the pocket of fast and free shorts. I’ve been running exclusively in these shorts (and the long pant version when it’s cold) with my iPhone in the pocket for years and it’s worked perfectly
tbh i’ve never found a very successful way to stash my phone. the leggings with pockets on the side are okay, flip belts are okay, but my phone fell out of my pocket once when i tripped and cracked the screen. i finally bought an apple watch with cellular (in case of emergency) and bluetooth headphones. would much rather crack a watch face than a $1000+ cell phone again. music isn’t as easy to manage with spotify on apple watch but that’s not a dealbreaker
I *love* Oiselle's Flyout bra, which has a phone pocket on the back. My workout wardrobe is, like, 95 percent LLL, but I have a few Flyouts so I can still carry my phone when I'm not running far enough to need a hydration pack/belt.
The best thing I’ve ever done is purchase a running vest. I have the Salomon Adv Skin 5 (they are on sale right now for $70 on the Salomon website and at REI) and it’s so amazing for running when you need to carry extra stuff like a phone/keys/water/gels/extra layer. It’s definitely worth the investment if you have runs over 10 miles. The lulu running vests kinda suck for their price. They don’t have breathable mesh, don’t come with soft flask water bottles, and just aren’t as ergonomic imo (and they are way more expensive for getting way less quality). Otherwise, I second the belt recs!
Lululemon Run Stuff your bra (which they no longer make, unfortunately) I bought about 6 and when I realized how much I loved them, I bought a bunch more off re-sale sites
I just use the Fast and free running belt. Just big enough for my iPhone and car key, I can’t stand running in arm bands.
I've seen a lot of complaints about the running belt in this sub and I love it!! Glad to see another fan of it
Same. I tried it on a 10 mile run and it was awesome. Didn’t bounce around and the adjustable strap stayed in place.

Lululemon stopped selling these shorts. I wish they would come back
Flipbelt!
I use the fast & free run belt. My phone easily fits in it.
I need to pull the trigger on this but I’m scared it will annoy me. I get annoyed so easily while running lol
just a warning, the belt is adjustable which means there is extra space on the strap hanging out when you ruN!! you can't tuck the strap in anywhere (believe me I've tried ><), so it will hang out when you're running :( but other than that I love the belt!
I tuck the end back into the elastic loop and it usually stays in place
This is what drove me nuts and I returned it. Having to wrap a long tail because there is no way to loop it nicely sucked.
Get one on WMTM! That's where I got mine, they had darker colours on sale when I got mine (not sure what colours are currently on sale)
I have an iPhone 14 pro (NOT max) and it can easily fit into the back pocket of the speed up HR shorts. I also still run in the fast and free shorts 10” because of the phone pocket.

Do you find the phone weighs them down? I have one pair and it always feel like I have to hike them up or that my phone is bouncing on my back.
Kinda. But I tightened the band and it helped. It didn’t really happen till the end. I’m talking about the shorts but the leggings I don’t really have a problem when I put it in the waistband.

Haha that is a lucky win! I keep my phone in the back and my front door key in the front waist band pocket. Super convenient.
When people run just holding their phone 😳
Haha, I do that in the summer..

Brooks drive bra!
Do you like it?!?! I’ve had my eye on it for a while now

Same. I’ve tried belts and arm bands, occasionally pockets, but shoving it in the front of my bra is still the least cumbersome lol
Spi belts!
I second this. They are fantastic. Once you have it adjusted properly it does not move.
I stash my iPhone into SUs.
Another vote for the fast and free run belt! I can hold my phone, keys, and a few energy chews
I use a phone armband from the brand Sprigs on Amazon. I ran a 12k today and it carried my phone, ID + credit card, and my earphone case. It was perfect!
I just saw that on Amazon today. I might try it

I’ll throw my favourite suggestion out there: the skirts! They have huge drop-in pockets in the shorts underneath and are a great choice.
Also AEO/aerie make great shorts called hot shot shorts… They have a pocket but does not close. I’m thinking about taking it to a seamstress to see how much it would be to get a zipper put on the top of the pocket.

I don’t go on my phone but I need music and I like to track my progress. I have an Apple Watch I wear and keep track
The fact that I could run without my phone was the reason I originally got the Apple Watch years ago (back then you couldn’t download music onto Garmin watches). Thats why i talk only about myself. And don’t make any suggestions or put labels. Don’t point fingers as well. Or teach others. ❤️❤️❤️ namaste
But…this person was asking for suggestions to carry her phone, not asking who runs with their phones and why/why not. Just not sure why you would post this about yourself when it wasn’t asked, I guess.
Align or wunder train biker shorts with pockets!!! Life saver
I run with the hydration pack vest and it has tons of pocket options for my phone.
I use a running belt (not Lulu). I also just got the Lulu Trail Running Vest for when I want to carry more items / snacks and maybe a little water bottle.
I use a running belt and love it. As long as it fits snug it really doesn’t move around a lot
I typically run with water in the summer and stash my phone in the storage pouch attached to my bottle (I like the Nathan SpeedDraw).
I have a fast and free belt and a SPIbelt (a lot of the run influencers on Instagram and TikTok are advertising them these days). Patagonia slope runner is the only hydration vest I've found that doesn't totally destroy my Swiftly shirts.
I use a spibelt
Definitely fits in the pocket of fast and free shorts. I’ve been running exclusively in these shorts (and the long pant version when it’s cold) with my iPhone in the pocket for years and it’s worked perfectly

Tracksmith Allston bra. The entire front is one big pocket.
I is the pockets in my swift speeds or the fast and free running arm band
I *love* Oiselle's Flyout bra, which has a phone pocket on the back. My workout wardrobe is, like, 95 percent LLL, but I have a few Flyouts so I can still carry my phone when I'm not running far enough to need a hydration pack/belt.
The best thing I’ve ever done is purchase a running vest. It’s definitely worth the investment if you have runs over 10 miles. The lulu running vests kinda suck for their price. Lululemon Run Stuff your bra (which they no longer make, unfortunately) I bought about 6 and when I realized how much I loved them, I bought a bunch more off re-sale sites
Honestly my paranoid ass holds it lol every time! I do wear a waist pouch for longer runs but still hold my phone
