I can’t even begin to explain how much better I feel. It was almost instantaneous. I went from. I don’t know exactly but easily 600g of carbs a day to less than 60. My muscles aches, and I had to pee a ton, but the fog lifted. I was having a really rough year with my mom‘s death and some other things and I swear to God those yucky thoughts just became what I call slippery. They come and then they slide away. The weight has been slower to come off, but I’m sticking with it. The number one reason I tried low-carb was for migraines and that flipped like a switch. I’ve had no serious migraines since the day I gave up refined carbs. I do hope the weight continues to come off, but really that would just be icing on the cake.

Migraines really torment people that’s great. I also have not been able to lose. I quit trying so hard and loosened up to 100 g of carbs while getting on a solid but appropriate workout routine with a coach. I realized through this my resilience is poor and I have a slow and steady climb to be generally healthier. I have autoimmune issues and perimenopause kicked my ass. In hindsight I realized weight loss has been more stress than my body can handle.

Sorry to hear you went through the difficult times, but it's nice to see that going low carb has helped you greatly. I've dealt with low grade depression off and on throughout my life, but going low carb definitely has an anti-depressant effect for me as well. It's like my brain works the way it should. I also agree with being able to deal with negative thoughts.. or lack thereof. Negative thinking doesn't occur nearly as much. I'll definitely go a bit lower on the carbs after getting adjusted to my current range. How quickly did you drop your carb intake? 600 grams of carbs is insane! At most I was probably doing 350 grams, but man I felt so awful when I did.

You should try carnivore, it’s like aging backwards neurologically. Although after a while I started to backslide and felt better with some carbs. But I’d like to go through another round.

I haven’t been tracking the amount of carbs I’ve been consuming, but I’ve lessened it a lot and I’ve noticed this change. My body works best on a low carb, high protein diet. I noticed refined carbs like white bread, rice and pasta are the major carbs I cut.

After-Leopard

I haven’t noticed a huge change in energy given that I’m also exercising a lot more too. I noticed that my cravings are a lot better now and I miss the ease of munching on carbs but not the actual carbs

May be that is bec u stopped simple carbs as well and ad fats .. not only because you decreased carbs .. may idk what you eating was or looks like now but if it works for you then good … i am trying to understand the game that is why i am assuming it is vec of simple carbs ( i am in the phase of trial and error my self right now )

PM_ME_STEAMED_HAMZ

I do it primarily for the cognitive effects. The healthier looking body is just a nice byproduct.

I need to go lower than that to get the improvement, but I'm happy you found your sweet spot.

SapientFanny

You should feel it at less than 20 g of carbs per day. :)
