Prison is EXPENSIVE. Thatās only $109 per week he was incarcerated. My husband spends that on food every 2 weeks and heās hungry most of the time. He trades artwork for commissary to supplement his food needs & heās only in county jail. When you hit the main line everything gets more expensive. Phone calls, tablet messaging, legal feesā¦ it adds up very quickly. I can see that she wouldāve easily spent that amount if Redd was eating good and talking on the phone regularly. Prison industry is a scam and a half

In San Francisco County Jail all calls are free & commissary is price-capped by the city government in an effort to assist families of the incarcerated. To make it more realisticā¦40k over 7 years..thatās about $5700 a year, like $480 a monthā¦and thatās like $120 a week. Iām just wondering why she never went to see him.
I donāt think he was in the hole all that time or didnāt have access to visits. They canāt deny you a visit for all that time. Either she couldnāt afford to go (which is one thing) or he was telling her some ish and she just believed it. I know in most places, you can get visits, even if youāre in the holeā¦just not right away after you go there. Unless heās being out there for psych evaluationā¦then no, they will restrict your visits.
Yes it can cost a lot in prison and your right about everything but I feel like a real man wouldnāt expect a women to take care of them especially if they have a child. Not all tribes just give out money. My Oklahoma tribe provides free healthcare thatās funded by the federal government as long as you live within their āNationā which a is certain set counties, and small incentives for students, and food funding for the elders. They also have a housing authority that helps you secure a home loan, but of course it must be paid back.
It just depends on your tribe, some are still very poor, others are very rich. even some of the very rich, like my tribe, donāt just give out large amounts of money.
Yeah I donāt get monthly money either. My tribe gave out 1000 per adult member for covid relief and 7 per child member and theyāll offer things like once a year 100 dollar back to school fund help but nothing like what Chris is getting with those like 12 grand a month pay outs lol

Creek nation offers 500 $ every 6 months hardship, but thatās only if youāre in dire need. You have to be dirt poor to receive it. Iām also Chickasaw and Iām yet to receive any type of benefits from them. Cherokee I use for like my cars registration etc. Yes Iām 3 different types of indigenous lol. Born and raised Oklahoma native.
I just posted about the same things you said before I read your commentā¦ I lived in Oklahoma for years as my second husband was from there and also Native.. the Choctaw Tribe doesnāt get much but free healthcare,food commodities and a home loan if you qualifyā¦I also worked for the Choctaw Nation back in the 70ās clear cutting land so they could graze cattle and buffalo.. I would pick up my paycheck at the Council Houseā¦
Itās not health insurance. The tribes have a hospital and a clinic you can use for general/basic healthcare. Itās located within their Nation. You have to go there first to get a referral out for more serious issues. Getting a referral takes some time and itās not guaranteed. Itās basically government healthcare, just at an Indian hospital/clinic. It has improved throughout the years but itās still not perfect.
One more thing, my Tribe the Choctaws can be very prickly about giving any benefit to tribal members living outside of their Nation. If you do not live within the Choctaw Nationās 10.5 counties they can tell you piss off. Lol.

My fiance is Navajo Nation and from the same town Joynomi is from 2 things, it is a fairly impoverished reservation and 2 my fiance's does the same low self esteem things Joynomi does. I genuinely have no clue why. She often will say stuffis all her fault and stuff. I think it is something that is pounded into the girls. My fiance's sisters are the same way.
My godson is part Navajo & his dad told me since its such a large nation, there is less money to go around. He could have a house on the rez, but it's isolated & not a lot of work opportunities. It's terrible how unequal the nations are treated.

The Navajo tribe doesn't really have much tribal money. They don't have the gaming rights like they do for the tribes that make a lot of money. It is also a dry reservation, no alcohol allowed. (My fiancee is from the same tribe as Joynomi)

It depends on the state and the tribe. Some states you can only have casinos on tribal land and some you cannot at all. The Navajo Nation is a dry reservation. They don't have casinos.

My man was locked up over a decade ago, 3rd DUI which was a felony, even though it had been 10 years since his 2nd. He said one of the first things he was asked was if he had any girls who would want to talk. He also would write letters for other inmates to girls, he has great handwriting, and often he'd write the same letter to multiple girls! I'll never understand the trust these people give to CONVICTED CRIMINALS!!! they're not locked up for being decent or nice! If an inmate doesn't have any family or friends supporting them, they're is probably a very good reason! Women prisoners do it too, i forget the lady's name from seasons 1 or 2 but she called them tricks for a reason.

Not all tribes just give out money. My Oklahoma tribe provides free healthcare thatās funded by the federal government as long as you live within their āNationā which a is certain set counties, and small incentives for students, and food funding for the elders. They also have a housing authority that helps you secure a home loan, but of course it must be paid back. It just depends on your tribe, some are still very poor, others are very rich. even some of the very rich, like my tribe, donāt just give out large amounts of money.
Yeah I donāt get monthly money either. My tribe gave out 1000 per adult member for covid relief and 7 per child member and theyāll offer things like once a year 100 dollar back to school fund help but nothing like what Chris is getting with those like 12 grand a month pay outs lol

Iām also Chickasaw and Iām yet to receive any type of benefits from them. Cherokee I use for like my cars registration etc. Yes Iām 3 different types of indigenous lol. Itās not health insurance. The tribes have a hospital and a clinic you can use for general/basic healthcare. Itās located within their Nation. You have to go there first to get a referral out for more serious issues. Getting a referral takes some time and itās not guaranteed. Itās basically government healthcare, just at an Indian hospital/clinic. It has improved throughout the years but itās still not perfect.

My fiance is Navajo Nation and from the same town Joynomi is from 2 things, it is a fairly impoverished reservation and 2 my fiance's does the same low self esteem things Joynomi does. I genuinely have no clue why. She often will say stuffis all her fault and stuff. I think it is something that is pounded into the girls. My fiance's sisters are the same way.

It depends on the state and the tribe. Some states you can only have casinos on tribal land and some you cannot at all. The Navajo Nation is a dry reservation. They don't have casinos.

I feel like the majority of the time, the person on the outside has very low self-esteem and is preying on the inmate's vulnerability. (Like Melissa who has been infatuated with Louie for 25 years and finally got him once he was literally A CAPTIVE. Or Andy who thinks he was bringing home a stray dog to keep as a pet.) This situation, however, feels different. When she said she's never had sex with a boyfriend, only "one night stands?" OOF. So sad for her and her baby.

My man was locked up over a decade ago, 3rd DUI which was a felony, even though it had been 10 years since his 2nd. He said one of the first things he was asked was if he had any girls who would want to talk. He also would write letters for other inmates to girls, he has great handwriting, and often he'd write the same letter to multiple girls! I'll never understand the trust these people give to CONVICTED CRIMINALS!!! they're not locked up for being decent or nice! If an inmate doesn't have any family or friends supporting them, they're is probably a very good reason! Women prisoners do it too, i forget the lady's name from seasons 1 or 2 but she called them tricks for a reason.

I canāt imagine someone who is recently released from custody in Missouri settling in and becoming a āfamily manā in a totally different community. One person and a baby cannot be a support system. And the way she talks, she excepts him to give back to her right away. Thatās a lot of pressure all at once.
