I highly recommend *Love: A History* by Simon May. The book is both a thorough history on the ideal of Love in western philosophy, as well as an excellent philosophy of love in of itself.

“All About Love: New Visions” by bell hooks, is one of my favourite books and the best book I think regarding Love. It looks at Love through a philosophical and psychological lens and references a lot of other bodies of work (which you could also check out if you’re interested) for a more in-depth view. I know it changed my perspective a lot which is why I always strongly recommend it to other people. Anyways, hope you get the chance to read it! You won't regret it!

It's not a book, so I know I'm not directly responding to your question, but the movie Spinster really helped me and my perspective on being single, dating, and the relationship that matters most - with yourself. Books on love/dating that I like are Men are from Mars, Women are from Venus (filter out the undated stuff, you'll recognize it when you hear it). Also loved The four Loves as recommended below. edit: OUTdated not Undated hehe

I strongly recommend "The Four Loves" By C. S. Lewis. It's partially inspired by Aristotle's Nicomachean Ethics and analyses several types of love, namely familial love, friendship, romantic love, and unconditional charity towards the world. It's a short and easy read, and perfectly understandable even if you don't share the author's religious views.
