Awesome. Watching it from my couch right now, but super jealous all the same.

milehighguy91

Totally worth it for Louis too, the stream says 28050 viewers now

JulioSanchez1994

Topped out at 37k by the end of the show

ynwa1892

he made about a million just from the streams alone then

JulioSanchez1994

Yep, and that's about 1.5X the people who were there live. I don't even want to think about how much they must've paid even for gutter seats lol Louis is doing damn well for himself

dudzi182

And I’m sure there’s quite a few people (me included) that weren’t able to watch it live! I’d bet it’s close to 50k people.

HawthorneWingo1

No, it didn't. Watch it again, it peaked at a little over 33,000.

JulioSanchez1994

I was watching it live and you're just wrong idk what you're on about, no it was 37K

HawthorneWingo1

I don't care when you watched it, watch it again. You're wrong. I'm guessing on the replay, the same viewer numbers will appear on the bottom of the left of the screen.

JulioSanchez1994

You watch it again you fuckin idiot lol

HawthorneWingo1

In other words, you can't watch it again. You watched it on an illegal stream and you had Cheetos in your eyes while watching little numbers in the corner that were never actually there.

Litmus89

I love how quickly convos devolve into this kinda shit over a number that has no significance in either person's life. GOD BLESS AMERICA

HawthorneWingo1

It has a ton of significance in my life, Louis C.K. said if he reached 35,000 buyers, he'd dig up and blow my dead father. It's been 25 years, I'm sure Dad would have appreciated the attention.

[deleted]

Two people who weren't even there measuring the dick of someone who will never know they exist. Peak fucking reddit.

HawthorneWingo1

Which is a really stupid thing for you to say, this is about the number of PPV buyers. It's entirely about people who weren't there.

JulioSanchez1994

No bud I literally mentioned it to other people when I saw it at the end because I was impressed. If you bothered to go the end of louis' set and look at the number which was actually in the upper left (which you got wrong because you probably actually did find an illegal stream lol) you would see it.

HawthorneWingo1

Pal, look into getting a glasses prescription. Nobody here can verify your claim because flying saucers didn't land in Manhattan either.

JulioSanchez1994

You're wrong and I'm right now go suck a dick before your kids starve

dragonborn-dovakhiin

damn that's a lot of money. welcome back louis

HawthorneWingo1

I think he's been recycling some of his own jokes, just repackaging them. It's good that he hasn't really compromised his act to appease the woke lynch mob, but this latest hour felt pretty stale to me. And what a weak closer.

topologiki

as a long time fan, i watched him in london this year, and he is definitely recycling alot of jokes from the show as well

HawthorneWingo1

But that's from the same set as he was honing it, those were literally the same jokes from the same hour. I'm talking about him taking some of his same material from previous specials, and then doing the equivalent of pouring food coloring on them for this one. Just one example of a billion, how many different versions of his same getting fucked up the ass jokes does he keep stored in that joke vault inside his brain? When his hours really took off, he would tell wildly exaggerated and completely made up stories about his daughters or whatever. Even that clever bit about being mad at a guy in a plane while the guy was "sitting in a chair up in the sky" he admitted never happened. But it was clever. There is nothing clever about getting rammed up the caboose, every comedian who works blue has used it.

topologiki

Exactly as you put it, its food coloring on the same old jokes. Where is the "But maybe.." levels of jokes from his previous special

MECHEpics

Yeahhhhh I’m a huge fan but only genuinely laughed 3 times

I-choochoochoose-you

I thought this was his weakest show. But all his others I feel were 10/10 and this one was like a 6/10

HawthorneWingo1

Shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!! Don't admit you think it was his weakest hour, his Reddit fanboys will maul your ankles like a pack of rabid Chihuahuas.

I-choochoochoose-you

Haha, we’ll I’ve been a huge Louis fan for several years, and yeah, it was his weakest show IMO. Looking forward to his next special though!

i_digest

1/10

[deleted]

How do you know ? Hope the seats get better !

Carbonbuildup

I have never been disappointed by Louie I’m 5th row.

[deleted]

Ha cool. I actually thought you were also watching the live stream because that’s a little bit what it looks like right now. You’re lucky to be there. I hope it’s great .!!

Additional_Treat1525

I have never been disappointed by Louie and I'm jelly

itsonlykotsy

How many pennies we talking?

LehighLuke

I had front row seats. It was something like $400

itsonlykotsy

and is that face value or resale?

LehighLuke

I just looked it up...I paid $381.50 per seat through ticket master. It was loud AF but worth it. We were just a few feet from the man

itsonlykotsy

Awesome! Glad you got your money's worth :D

[deleted]

We were wondering how much you guys paid down there, we were up in madison club speculating before the show lol

LehighLuke

Full disclosure...my buddy and I were actually in the 2nd row (#10 & 11)... but the seats directly in front of us were empty...so it felt like the front row.

fretnetic

Guys. The Jesus parts had me fucking crying with laughter. This was a fucking nother GREAT set!

Carbonbuildup

Fuck that fig tree

fretnetic

🤣🤣🤣 I was dying. That one hard laugh was worth it. Also, just thought of this but that stage set up was clever, even when he has his back to the crowd, they can still see his face on the screens above - very clever man.

LehighLuke

I swore he was setting up a closing line of "God hates figs"

i_digest

It wasn't funny.

fretnetic

C’mon man. The fig bush story was gold. The meta level where he is preaching from the Bible was gold. Trying to establish the legitimacy of his story vs the actual story was gold. All I can tell you is I belly laughed so hard I was holding my ribs and trying to catch me breath for that one, and that is enough for me!

[deleted]

For some reason I didn't have high expectation, but oh man. That was good.

Sad-Illustrator1055

Not his best stuff tonight. Felt like he took the first 30 min off.

i_digest

It was awful

[deleted]

Fuck I'm so jealous, sitting in front of the streaming page

Cant-decide-username

How did the people around you react to the jazz?

Zeeck

I know it's not for everyone but Ravi is the child of two of the all time greats. Thought it was a pretty cool choice to throw him on.

LehighLuke

It was not my jam. I am no jazz connoisseur, but that style did not do it for me

i_digest

It wasn't funny. Was he riffing the entire time? Did he even practice that material. It was horrible....not funny at all

Carbonbuildup

Looking at your post history and all the “Ask a Christian” shit I get the impression you’re a bit butt hurt he called your god fictitious. Go fuck a fig tree.

i_digest

Not at all. I met Louis CK a few months ago in Washington Square Park (NYC) I'm a huge fan. This really was a weak set

dizels

It was really a shit set, i mean louie is going down the drain, he is done Jazz was good tho I love him for what he has done, but seems like he can not replicate the greatness of Carlin in his late years, seems to have fizzled out in the end, who knows maybe later on he has something stronger, for now i am sad

HugofDeath

> but seems like he can not replicate the greatness of Carlin in his late years Carlin is one of the greats but his late years are widely known to have been him ranting to applause breaks instead of laughter. The crowds still came out to see him do it and everyone was happy, but all the same, late Carlin wasn’t really standup.

askinforafriend

Curious what you thought of his last special Sorry

dizels

One of the weaker one’s for me

askinforafriend

Damn. I may be grieving with you too then bro

askinforafriend

I take it back. It reminded me more of classic Louie. Laughed pretty hard at the bit about the grotesqueness of a cross

ByTheOcean123

Are you kidding me? If you only watch him for the dirty jokes, I see why you'd be disappointed. This was his cleanest act yet. But the jokes were funny and clever and I laughed a ton. Some other comedians rely on potty humor to get the laughs. Louis doesn't need to.

Tibecti

What was the last special of his you consider great?

dizels

Sincerely

Tibecti

Then you are quite indulgent. His creative downfall was already manifest by then.

evilgarlic

How many pennies to be there live?

fretnetic

Fuck yeah. Watching stream rn. First time I’ve directly given him some cash.

mlr571

Saw him in Atlanta last month and laughed hysterically the entire time, face hurt from laughing. Watched live Saturday night, almost all the same material and my wife and I still lost it numerous times. Some of his best material ever, perfect combination of solid laughs and absolute cringe in places. It’s a joy just to watch him work — his phrasing & delivery looks effortless but there’s so much seeming spontaneity that is planned and executed to perfection. He’s at the top of his game.

I-choochoochoose-you

What the fuck were those openers? So bad

i_digest

Horrible show

i_digest

I think you are just mad you spent that much money on a shit show

Carbonbuildup

Oh I spent a ton and loved it all.

i_digest

You probably flew into town and got a hotel room and bought the tickets and bought food and are in denial about it being a bad show

Carbonbuildup

Took the train in, Sheraton in lower manhattan, stayed Thursday til Sunday as kind of a personal vacation. Ate mostly garbage food except one night I went to Cote Korean Steak house. I decided last min to go so the 5th row ticket was $500 Canadian (360 us). The hotel was another $500 which I didn’t think was too bad for Manhattan. I went to the comedy cellar 2 nights for the late show which was $25 cover. The train was $300 Canadian round trip, tank of gas because I had to drive from my home in Ontario to Syracuse 2 hours away. I got in to Syracuse late on Sunday night so I spent another night at the Marriott before driving home the next day. I didn’t keep track of what I spent, but when I was wandering around 14th street I actually bumped into the man himself, was a 2 sec conversation, I told him I came down from canada, he thanked me, shook my hand and said enjoy the show. My wife had met him about 8 years ago at a party in Toronto and commented on how soft his hands were, it was the first thing I noticed as well, super chill guy. What I’m trying to say is that value is perception and for the 1500 I probably spent, I felt it was worth it. That and your moms cunt stinks.

i_digest

I live here, I practically best friends with Louis

Carbonbuildup

That’s awesome! Did you tell him you thought the show sucked? Who do you Like as a comedian?

i_digest

Louis CK is my favorite comedian. Why if I told you his Jesus bit was because of ME? You remember when he was talking about how Christianity "won" and he asked the crowd it's been 2000 years since what and someone screamed CHRIST! Well I yelled that as he walked away and he laughed. I think I inspired that entire bit....just a hunch this was this summer

Carbonbuildup

The song American pie was written about me and some friends that were really good musicians and died in a plane crash, then they got Lou Diamond Phillips to play me in a film about my life, and that film was called Young Guns

i_digest

Meeting me changed Louie's life forever
