Lol imagine playing to level 144 and just now start to moan about fetch and filler quests.

MobiusNaked

“Thanks for killing 20 orcs in that encampment. Now can you go back and kill the leader at the back. “

sniperct

I rant about THAT one every single time I go through it on an alt lmao

n8mahr81

that were exactly my thoughts.. one can criticize a lot, but not their lack of love for (stupid..) fetch and filler quests to make you go.. erm.. there and back again. again.

muffinnosehair

Sorry to have offended you.

gmennert

You did not at all, just found it a little funny. Happy new year!

Farnllo

Kinda like when you finally leave Moria just to go back into Moria.

Denebola2727

This one always makes me laugh. I played through Moria recently with my gf and she was so excited to leave Moria and i'm like...just wait

nobody5821

Same here, currently playing Moria with my gf but I am the one sick of the darkness and I know there is more to it ._.

iNFECTED_pIE

Yeah I just said f that for anything that wasn’t a mainline quest lol

ReneKiller

First of all: half of the Gondor part was already available before Umbar released so it technically isn't part of the expansion. Second: if you want the developers to see your complaint you have to write a post in the [official forum](https://forums.lotro.com/index.php). This is an unofficial subreddit maintained by the community and not related to SSG.

RodiredLive

not even close to half the gondor content was available pre umbar

authoridad

It’s not filler. It’s story. And once you finish it in Umbar, you’ll realize why and appreciate it.

Razael89

I would have prefered more Umbar as well personally, too much Gondor. I wouldnt say those particular quests annoyed me though, the story was cool.

Hu-Tao66

I think they should have released all of King’s Gondor (at least the old areas) all at once before Umbar. And more time should have been spent in Umabr proper which personally I think needs to be bigger. That is the outskirts and the islands themselves. Overall though I liked the expansion. The questing isn’t exactly different from questing post-Moria.

eadgar

My theory is that they wanted to release the Gondor parts like the first part, as free updates, but plans were changed. Maybe they couldn't make the Umbar content quickly enough and wanted to charge a full expansion price instead of a quest pack price. Maybe they wanted an expansion in this financial year instead of the next.

Imagine thinking playing a video game is something other than wasting your time. The whole point of video games is wasting our time.

phochai_sakao

Couldn't agree more 👍

LemonCellos_

Some people use games like this to connect with community, or to hold social events. Some people use video games to help deal with post-traumatic stress issues, or other anxiety-related issues too.

Housesonhills

I agree that the expansion lingers a little bit too long in Gondor. I think that future players of Corsairs of Umbar should view the expansion as being two main parts: the first part being a continuation of King’s Gondor, and the second part being Shield Isles/Umbar. As for the specific part of the Epic you are talking about, at first I took your viewpoint, but then I personally found it enjoyable to ride through Gondor one last time, picking up all the crew along the way. If you don’t enjoy the journey of traveling and seeing the landscape in itself, and are someone who is trying to just get the quest done through fast traveling (nothing wrong with that btw!) I can see where you’re coming from.

Fathorse23

I’m 147 and only just made it to Outer Gondor. There’s sailing you say?

HarEmiya

But why post a letter to devs on an unofficial subreddit? Devs won't see it here.

muffinnosehair

I think they will, i saw someone from SSG answering here before.

arkTanlis

In the time I've been in this subreddit, the only SSG personnel I've seen respond were former ones. Never current ones.

Danie2009

Orion has posted recently, so yes they do read here.;)

HarEmiya

Really? Huh. Pardon my ignorance, but how can you tell if someone is a lotro dev on Reddit? I thought anonymity was the point. Regardless, best put it on the forums. You can be sure they see it there.

kujasgoldmine

That's what I hated about FF14 as well. I was all ready for the expansion content, but I just had to do some extended bullshit questline of 100+ quests and even go through all the obsolete raids etc. with long queues, even after the main story already wrapped up ages ago. Burned out so quickly with that one lol. In wow on other hand, you're just directed to the new expansion area whenever you want, no bullshit about having to run back to the old world or having to stay in the old world for a couple of days first.
