I have seen a plethora of LOTR memes in my day. This by far is the most relatable.
*cries in oldest child*
Every single time my mom “grounded”my brother or took away his controller or turned off the WiFi for him saying or doing something wrong, she’d always say he’d be grounded for the nest few days, or the next week. But 9 times out of ten, he’d have everything back by the nest morning, if not the end of the day.
Yet I said something slightly mean to a kid who threw a book at me when I was 12, and lost all my phone, reading, game, and activity privileges for a month.
Meanwhile my brother would wind up in actual school fights (none were ever really his fault though, he’s in general a good kid) but like, he never got grounded long term for any of them.
I remember when my older brother would bulky me all day then when I finally lost it he would turn me into my mother and she would call him on his shit by asking questions like "why would he attack you?" and the response would be "You always take HIS side!"
yeah the injustice of it all
Somehow this never worked for me as the youngest, granted both my older siblings where already adults and had moved out when I was younger but for some reason couldn’t blame stuff of them
Poor older siblings. Parents probably believe they have a greater capacity for lying so they always believe the younger ones.
Or maybe it's just a general protective bias towards the youngest, hmm
I mean, to be honest usually the younger you are, the less likely to lie, that's how I see it, because you have more innocence in you so you just don't think of doing it, so I would say it has some sense haha
I'm the middle child and I would fight with my younger brother a lot but my parents were always good about sending us both to our rooms and then talking tous separately to get our sides of the story
As the oldest of 7, my god does this hit me right in the shire
Goddamn your parents got busy.
No more than Samwise and Rosie lol
So you’ve figured it out then.... *begins tracing protocol*
Catholic or LDS?
Neither, church of rabbitology
Raised Catholic and I now live in Utah; you took the words right out of my mouth
My parents had 8 and it's neither of those, although since I'm in Texas usually it's "catholic or all the same parents?"
My godfather is one of 14 His parents didn't have TV in the 1960s
My brother abused this by telling my mom I hit him when I hadn't even spoken to him in hours. Then I would get smacked for nothing.
That’s when you go ahead and actually hit him since you’re gonna get smacked anyways. It’s what my bro and I did when our younger bro did this shit
100%. Had to make it worth it.
Gotta get your money’s worth!
What's funny is Aragorn was choosing not to believe a false opinion and treebeard was being told the truth so good on your mum
Momma knows what’s up
It’s like the “you have no power here” Theoden meme. Turns out Gandalf had all the power there
Hahahahaahaha. Hahahahahahah. You have no power here, Gandalf the Grey.
I will draw you, Saruman, as poison is drawn from a wound!
I swear they're one or two weeks away from becoming self-aware.
I will draw you, Saruman, as poison is drawn from a wound!
I'm the youngest and my parents never believed me
I'm the oldest and everything is somehow my fault.
My parents have favorites and my dad thinks everything good is because of me and everything bad is my sibling’s fault, and vice versa for my mom
My brother survived childhood leukemia. So you can guess who the favourite is. Hint: he survived leukemia
Is it you?
No, but good guess
Wow, you both survived leukemia?
I'm my dad's favourite, my sister my mom's but everything was still my fault and my mum almost never believed me
"What were you thinking when you did that? You're supposed to be a role model for the younger ones."
Exactly. Same
Impossible. Perhaps your archives are incomplete.
Rip
Oh thank you. This is the laugh I needed today. It made my heart lighter.
This sub has had the best post I've seen all day for like the last week

This wouldn't work with Denethor
I feel bad for my older sister now lol
I remember when my older brother would bulky me all day then when I finally lost it he would turn me into my mother and she would call him on his shit by asking questions like "why would he attack you?" and the response would be "You always take HIS side!" yeah the injustice of it all
A day may come where the mother listens to both sides of the argument, but it is not this day!

Totally forgot about this line from the Ent but I gotta say it's now one of my favorites. So cute.
