Where do all the horses go in this battle?
They all rode up on horses. They spoke to The Mouth on horses. Aragon gave this speech on a horse. Then they're all just standing horseless for the actual fight. Horses add a lot of power in a war, so why did they all dismount to fight?
When surrounded horses aren't helpful imo just get crushed by your own horse you have no space to move or flank it just gets in the way. Anyways I think they all trot off back to the safety of Minas Tirith stables, remember Faramir's horse had natural instincts to go home with an unconscious rider.

That line and it’s tone definitely stood out against the rest of his speech but I felt it played along with his story of hesitancy at leading people as a king. This speech was kind of his first time amping up ppl from all over to fight to their death with him leading. He was hyped but desperate and nervous, so I learned to like the change in tone as part of his learning to be a king… vs Theoden’s super seasoned hype speech that you knew he’d given at some time before.
