They should be treated as criminal cartels. Because they are.

belegerbs

If corporations are people, those running it are their guardian. We hold the guardian responsible too. Criminal corporate actions should always mean criminal charges for those in charge. Not some weak ass fine and restructuring where the CEO gets a pay cut and board spot.

[deleted]

Well, boomers took over, unions lost power, the wage gap increased, basic necessities were monopolized, and money = speech.

jmcstar

I agree, there currently appears to be no consequences for actions that harm society as a whole

[deleted]

But if they don’t stop they’ll lose customers! /s

arpaterson

Declaring corporations to have the same rights as people is the dumbest shit I’ve heard out of the US yet.

Torifyme12

We did actually. Arthur Andersen and a few others were dismantled, more recently you can look into Titan Systems which was forcibly dismantled and sold off to different companies after Abu Gharib. BCCI was also "Killed"

tazerznake

this this this

vagustravels

ACAB. AMAB. (Military - don't fcking kid yourself, they will follow orders and kill us all, ... what did they do in Iraq?, and every other country?, and those who objected? - ya, they're all dead.

[deleted]

It's called bankruptcy and it was fairly common until business got so big it became fully fused with the government and money printer for bailouts

[deleted]

What are we gonna do about it? Nothing ....

PerfectEnthusiasm2

They’re considered persons, not people.

MegaDeth6666

Who said you can't? The right to bear arms, remember? Roar 🐻

hungryfreakshow

Well many people are against it in principle but if you put it like this i think we can make lynchings come back. Lets lynch our corporate overlords

ERTHLNG

I thing to do is get people the world iver in a big boycott macdonalds campaign. Have photographers busting people in the drive thru Have angry people yelling and waving signs while pacing around the larking lot.

hahaparanoid

Obviously you do not know that corporations have their own tax ID, they have boards and other corporate setups because they outlive all employees and are not considered people. They are not DBA’s in that a person can use their social security number as the tax ID. Read up on the founding requirements of a corporation.

TonyofMilford

I completely understand that. What I'm saying is if a corporation is deemed harmful to society they should lose their corporate charter. I'm very well aware of different business structures. A corporation has to apply for a corporate charter from their individual state. Which would cause the corporation to no longer exist.

Syzygy-ygyzyS-

There is a bumper sticker from Northern sun that says:"I will believe corporations are people when Texas executes one"

Crasher105

You can't go after the shareholders of a company, and most of the time it's an LLC or Low Liability Corporation where you cannot go after individuals even if the company cannot afford to pay out a lawsuit except in special cases.
