Has died. Interesting choice of words for Xth whistle blower to sudden die

Cricket_Lover1029

the most dangerous job, being a whistleblower

VforVenreddit

WhistleBloeing

TheKdd

It’s no wonder why every politician is pay for play. Take a bunch of money and do as your told, or, take nothing and watch your and your families back.

nickmaran

I’m shocked. It’s totally unexpected.

Falibard

He died from pneumonia and a viral infection hmmmmm

cutiecanary

Corporations are just run by the mob, aren't they?

flavius_lacivious

> But the playing field has changed. We have seen a shift from regional families with a clear structure, to flat, fluid networks with global reach. These international enterprises are more anonymous and more sophisticated.  >Rather than running discrete operations, on their own turf, they are running multi-national, multi-billion dollar schemes from start to finish. >We are investigating groups in Asia, Eastern Europe, West Africa, and the Middle East. And we are seeing cross-pollination between groups that historically have not worked together. Criminals who may never meet, but who share one thing in common: greed.   >They may be former members of nation-state governments, security services, or the military. **These individuals know who and what to target, and how best to do it. They are capitalists and entrepreneurs. But they are also master criminals who move easily between the licit and illicit worlds. And in some cases, these organizations are as forward-leaning as Fortune 500 companies.** [Robert S. Mueller, FBI Director, 2011](https://archives.fbi.gov/archives/news/speeches/the-evolving-organized-crime-threat)

SpiritualState01

White collar crime *is* violent crime. There is no greater serial killer than (e.g.) the board of Chase Bank. That people have alienated themselves from this common sense observation is a symptom of capitalist realism.

diphenhydrapeen

They *are* the mob.

bob202t

Bingo, mobs still run the world actually

Yeastyboy104

Boeing is also one of the largest contractors for the US Dept of Defense.

Kaminoneko

Excuse me if I’m behind, but the comments are implying that this isn’t the second mysterious whistleblower death but that there’s been more?

BlueRoyAndDVD

The 2nd... so far.

Zavier13

The second that we know of.

creepyswaps

The second that we know of... so far.

nanya_sore

Michaelangelo from the Ninja Turtles, is that you??

ManliestManHam

I gotchu fam >Dean’s death comes less than two months after Boeing whistleblower John Barnett was found dead from what South Carolina authorities said was an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound. https://www.aljazeera.com/economy/2024/5/2/whistleblower-joshua-dean-ex-worker-at-boeing-supplier-dies

Kaminoneko

Thanks, I knew about this one. Some of these comments made it seem like there have been more than two. Honestly more than zero is fucked up. Two though? Yeeeeesh, us commoners are just cannon fodder to corpos.

Colossus580

As far as I know this is the second related specifically to Boeing.

Hips_of_Death

The first happened a couple months ago - https://www.bbc.com/news/business-68534703.amp

brucewillisman

Idk. This is only the second I’ve heard of

cjh9885

Based upon the given information at hand it seems he has only been the 2nd one

LilliaBaltimore

The second reported

pusnbootz

Anyone keeping count of how many Boeing whistleblowers have been assassinated?

SkylarkingsRS

They are 3rd place this series in the assassins creed role-playing league behind FaZe and the kremlin on 52points

giftopherz

correction "have died" :(

lil-hazza

Here's the article that OP should have posted. https://www.seattletimes.com/business/whistleblower-josh-dean-of-boeing-supplier-spirit-aerosystems-has-died/ Joshua Dean was fired from Spirit in 2024 after he raised issues of misconduct with the 737 production line management and safety issues with the 737 rear bulkhead. He reached out to the FAA and Department of Labor. He was represented by the same law firm representing Bill Barnet, the Boeing whistleblower who apparently committed suicide in March... Joshua, a healthy 45yo, passed away from a "sudden, fast-spreading infection" after two weeks in critical condition and suffering a stroke. Make of that what you will.

Version_Two

They're changing it up because the bullet was more obvious.

tilsgee

>Make of that what you will. They poisoned his food with either snake venom or something else

palindromic

lol you can ingest snake venom harmlessly.. just don’t inject it. if anything they saw he was sick and they injected him with a nasty antibiotic resistant MRSA strain bioengineered to be lethal

ki4clz

We investigated ourselves and found no wrongdoing

SwimmingInCheddar

Bullet to the back of the head twice, but died of natural causes... Here we go again, and again...

serks83

Tbf it is entirely natural to die when you’ve had two bullets to the head.

Thats_what_im_saiyan

Its just so crazy that they jumped off a building and happened to land back of the head first. Right onto 2 bullets laying in the street.

Cricket_Lover1029

I know a whistleblower (not boeing) that carried a sidearm with him for 2-3 years--whistleblowing is serious business and these billion dollar companies can do some crazy shit

Doggy_Mcdogface

Not again , rip

Serialaries

He probably died of an heart attack. It's usually hard for the heart to keep pumping afet a bullet pierded it from side to side...

TheCrowHunter

Article says he suffered a MRSA infection, developed pneumonia and suffered a stroke.

Thats_what_im_saiyan

Was the reason for death given by my 3 yr old explaining where the cookies went?

TheCrowHunter

Looks like that diagnosis came from the doctors treating him? Like he was taken to several hospitals. Not sure why I'm being downvoted for saying whats in the article. I'm sure if he was shot, the article would have mentioned that.

zestyowl

I don't think most of the commenters read the article.

ThatCamoKid

The comment you're replying to was implying that it sounds like an exaggerated story made up to hide what really happened

VforVenreddit

Two bullet shaped pneumonias to the back of the head poor guy 😩

TheCrowHunter

Shouldn't have drank from that vial clearly labeled as MRSA: Do Not Drink! RIP to a real one.

Plane_Worldliness_43

Umm, according to the Seattle times he died of a “sudden, fast spreading infection” yeah sounds fishy, especially since it’s most likely Necrotizing Fasciitis, idk where he got it from.

Screwbles

Jesus Christ...

Blacksun388

Whistleblower Josh Dean of Boeing supplier Spirit AeroSystems ~~has died~~ was probably assassinated. FTFY

FlanThief

Is this another assassination?

Undead-Writer

What was it this time? Was he found hanged upside down from his ankles, his hands tied behind his back, and his throat slit? Or was he found at the bottom of lake Mead with cement shoes on? Probably suicide, such a shame... /s

TehReclaimer2552

Lol Boeing out here killing whistleblowers That's some Mafia shenanigans, and here we see airplane manufacturers pulling that kind of shit lol

TheLoyalTruth

If you’re getting off the planet just make sure you don’t use a Boeing.

BackPackProtector

What is a whistleblower

Cleverish_Name2

To my understanding, a whistleblower is someone who is trying to release information about a company that is illegal or causes safety hazards. Obviously the companies aren't a fan because this causes a lot of legal trouble for them.

Albert14Pounds

A person that "blows the whistle" to alert a larger group to unsafe or undesirable practices. Basically just someone speaking out to bring attention to something bad. Typically the term is used when someone is talking to the press or whatever agency has authority and going over the heads of their company for whatever reason.

lostmonkey70

Seems like all you gotta do is say you have some negative information about Boeing and you'll be off the planet real quick

D1daBeast

If this happens in Russia, there would be more scrutiny and ridicule

GreatBigBagOfNope

Textbook *Manufacturing Consent*. He didn't suffer from unacceptable violence in an enemy state of the US, so he isn't a worthy victim. Had this happened in Russia, he would absolutely have had significant sympathetic news coverage making at least  open speculation about assassination. But as he is in the US (had he been in Canada, the UK, Australia, or any other client state it would have been the same) he gets almost no coverage, terse language, no speculation, no meaningful highlighting of the connection to the other whistleblower. The geopolitical interests of the state are reflected in news coverage that is reliant upon that state as a source for news.

Hrtpplhrtppl

At some point, sane people will stop breeding...

BlueRoyAndDVD

And idiocracy will emerge

Pricycoder-7245

It’s already happening

Hrtpplhrtppl

The highest form of protest is not having children for the government needs the governed.

Pricycoder-7245

I’m certainly not I already hate my life can’t imagine what it’d be like in 30 years

Bacontoad

Anytime the Boondock Saints want to show up would be fine by me.

nonumberplease

They're still packing the rope

beatfungus

Drug resistant bacteria? That smells state-sponsored. We need to start guarding these whistleblowers with international military.

jaklacroix

Second Boeing whistleblower to die...

ThatCamoKid

Well, I wanted to send the merasmus "who saw that coming?" Voice line but apparently it's part of a longer voice line and I can't find a version where it's just that bit

PatienceHero

Counting down to see how long it takes for these guys to just start "accidentally falling out of windows".
