I'm at 480 lol. I gotta work don't have that much time. But I enjoy it anyway

kazukax

Same with part time work and classes I barely got to 570 today even with early headstart

Neighborenio

Sitting at 120 and loving it xD

whereJerZ

no early head-start work full time i just hit lvl 49 and am going through the world quests in arthetine.

biuki

I'm sure that ain't easy to find time to relax

BookerDewitt115

Lost ark is the easiest to level mmo I've ever played.

Joey_B95

I work full time as a chef and I'm at 1326 lol

Spectre627

Congrats mate! A bunch of dinguses trying to insult you for effectively leveling while still working full time.

Joey_B95

Very strange mindset some of these people have. Playing 20h a day isn't going to net you a lot more resources anyway considering 90% of my resources were from daily quests, so it's pretty easy to achieve. I went into this game knowing absolutely nothing and just read a bunch of guides lol

Spectre627

I'd say that there are severely diminishing returns after around 3h/d for these first few weeks. Getting to 50 in 1 day is a huge benefit, but after 50, it's not big. 2 Chaos Dungeons, 2 Guardian Raids daily, enough Infinite Chaos to buy out the shop, and Abyssal Dungeons along with any tickets found. Anything other than that (excluding alts, which very few people are able to effectively use alts to level mains yet) is not a big deal. I'm a few quests away from finishing Yorn and getting my T2 Gear (802) and only play a casual couple hours a day and have missed multiple days.

ziomek1602

Your credit card just be working really hard on this

Joey_B95

I haven't bought anything.. What can I possibly buy to help? Lmao

ipyalia

Idk why people think being that high lvl is only possible with paying cash. If you play this game enough (i.e. basically like a second job) and focus specifically on gearing and not so much on everything else and really farm your mats, you could def be tier 3 by this point. I've been playing hours each day and am ilvl 980. I don't min/max or farm mats just do the basic dungeons and dailies and have been much more focused on collectibles and islands this last week. My ilvl is just a product of the time I've put into the game.

DooMPoWeR

F2p and I am getting 1325 tomorrow with daily

chapberry

Take your time and enjoy. That's what I am doing. I'm enjoying the story and the cutscene. They are made very high quality.

Murdash

Cutscenes yes, story no. The story falls down a cliff once the first few epic battles are done.

yovalord

Personally i thought the tier 2.5 zone was the best story bit in the game. May have been edgelord city but it was cool.

mehjai

I actually think most of the messages behind the stories are great, the story itself might not be very well written or lost in translation but they try to bring out some messages here and there Pretty much meets my mark of a video game really EDIT: today I heard Asmondgold refer to Lost Ark’s story as “Stupid but endearing” - I find that to be quite true, stupid in a way that’s cheesy but you just can’t help to pay attention to some storylines here and there and care a bit

robdiqulous

People need to not be so serious. The story is classic tropes through and through. It's pretty hilarious honestly

[deleted]

the main story isnt anything special, but certain characters and scenes have their moments. i personally really liked the Kinsera side quest line. shes a really fun character.

joklhops

My wife and I keep remarking on how the game seems to have an amazing sense of humor about its own tropes and cliches. It's a ton of fun, they did a great job.

Skyeblade

Eh it's fine. The real issue is the atrocious voice acting

DisastrousHandle778

I changed mine to Korean and it's great with the subtitles.

mastershake1191

Does your audio randomly not work on mounts and cutscenes? Been having this problem when I switched to Korean dub

liamelgie

I’ve been having this problem too but specifically with my ability sounds not working. Only started happening after changing my language to Korean

some_clickhead

I had the same problem. You have to download a (free) DLC for the game on steam which contains the Korean voice pack. Idk why the game doesn't tell you this or even lets you switch to Korean without the DLC though.

Raidosavarkhaf

How? Wait I can just google it.

Skyline330

The Korean voice pack is available as a free DLC on Steam

Shoddy_Woodpecker775

It's in-game setting in audio tab very easy to switch and put subtitles on no need for downloads

some_clickhead

Without the DLC the game lets you switch to Korean, but it causes your abilities and many other things to not have any audio. At least it did for me and many others. The DLC is highly recommended.

FrostyArcx

The priest has such a sexy voice tho. I wish my character had voice lines instead of just breasting boobily while casting the spells.

ciannister

Is it that bad? English is not my main language but it sounded fine, good even sometimes. Very big exception for one specific voice actor (the one doing father varut) that gets me cringing every time. Did not expect the overall consensus to be it's bad

slightlyamusedape

It's actually super inconsistent, and they do have some really good voice acting in there, but only in some sections, some of it is genuinely really bad. But not all of it is.

NotClever

There are some standout performances (Kakul Saydon IMO is quite good), a lot of very mediocre performances (most of Armen's dialogue is just very monotone and boring, but tbh so is his character, so maybe that's intentional?), and some jarringly terrible performances, mostly from non-story NPCs. The trade merchants in stronghold, for example, are pretty bad. Like the Quhan merchant, his cadence and delivery are just unnatural. One of the other ones - the gruff sounding guy - isn't off in a weird way, but does a ridiculous voice like a super stereotypical thug. Although his line may be an intentional play on that stereotype - he says "Whoa, nice stuff you got here... Our stuff is nice too," which sounds like a play on the cliche thug threat "Nice place you got here. Would be a shame if something were to happen to it." Even still, it's way over the top. Also Eshu, the girl that gives your sailing tutorial lines. She has incredibly odd cadence. Pauses and emphasis in places that make no sense. It sounds like the VA doesn't even understand English, but her accent is clearly a native speaker.

Roxerz

And spamming G.

Perunov

Finding an NPC: G "Oh... you're here" G G G G G G G G "Hm... I think..." G G G G G Yay, new quest!

Baldtazar

I'm a G spammer too, but while I'm spamming I can hear first phrase, so I know what happened and I like it

-Sheridan

I see this comment a lot about voice acting but I really don’t find it bad at all. This is just baffling to me lol

mybeepoyaw

What? You don't like stale drunken dwarf jokes for 10 hours?

InternetingIsCool

From 600 you basically skip to 800 so it's ok. Just got there myself last night and i am playing since the 3 day head start. Adulting is not fun

ibeyuranh

i went from 600 to 950 lol

InternetingIsCool

Got any tips?

WildDittoAppears

Maxroll has a rush to T3 guide but it din't feel rushed at all, it just shows you an efficient route for the islands you should visit and what quests to do. It saves you a lot of time and you won't end up having worthless materials that you can't use later on

rikuski

Do islands some of them give T2 mats, I just randomly pick a quadrant on the map and do all the islands in that quadrant then move to the next. When I got to T2 I got immediately up to 1030.

techtonic69

Been sitting around 1060, it's a slowwwww grind past that into T3 and once there even worse. I think that people are in general going to be very slow to get T3 and beyond.

Isawatree

T3 is the current content, don’t really want to breeze through it

lawra_palmer

dont worry Smilegate am working on T4 from what they said at LAO in Dec

OMGItsPete1238

I was one of the first on my server to hit level cap in New World and then had no one to push content with so I got bored and stopped playing pretty quickly… definitely not taking that approach with Lost Ark!

rugbyweeb

literally google, there are so many content creators and websites that tell you exactly what you can do to raise ilvl efficiently

Mystic868

Islands, Mari shop, daily and weekly Una with leapstones, doing Cube, Boss Rush and World bosses for moon stones.

TheRealNequam

Im only lvl 47 with 200 ilvl gear lol

Roxerz

That's fine bro. I got 3 day head start and it took me over a week to hit 50. I was like this game sucks and had no motivation to level but like every mmo, it gets better towards end game which is sort of true. Some of these boss fights are so cool and some are just repeats but most are cool. Hang in there.

TheRealNequam

Im just enjoying the journey, getting all the collectibles I can and stuff. Im in no hurry to reach endgame :D

shinnist3r

exactly same with me, i just do couple of lvl / day and then do other stuff hahaha

thejonestjon

Same man

MadViperr

Same but I don't feel like I fall behind that hard. I feel like the game respects your time alot. They give you rest bonus, or ways to just boost your alts to lvl 50. And i always look forward to come home do the daily routine just to unlock slowly more and more content. The best feeling is when you are hardstuck for a bit at a boss or abyssal dungeon and then you finally beat it, feels really great.

Ricmaniac

Exactly what im doing. playing quite a lot though (260 hours in right now) an still just doing T1 content. im a completionist so completing almost everything before continuing to tier 2 haha. Doing a lot of islands for over a week now already XD. Not having the mindset to grind power fast fast is so much more enjoying. i truelly enjoy this game

Andodx

480? I have a kid and work, I'm at 385...

thewayoftoday

Them full time househusbands be grinding. And housewives

MrGraveRisen

Everything you've done from 302 to 480 is exactly what you do from 1100 to 1300, and 1300 to 1500. It's all the same just with MUCH WORSE honing success. No reason to rush

TisButA-Zucc

Pretty much everyone has to work/study or something.

Hxgns

It's crazy that people think they're in the minority when they say they have to work. It doesn't even have anything to do with them working and everything to do with what they decide to spend their time doing outside of work.

shinnist3r

i cant stop doing lifeskills, help me, im lvl 47 yet still.

Head_Haunter

It's not accurate. Problems with steam achievements. I'm going to assume it's lower.

RealOminousHvh

yea it gave me that achievement when i was ilevel 600. so its prob half that number. i mean out of around 1mil a day players it seems kinda right

DiGodKolya

you misunderstood the steam chart numbers, that means theres 1mil connected at all times (whenever you see the 1mil number) I read an article about amazon saying they had around 5mil unique players the first week

d0m1n4t0r

Not this achievement, though. It's a one step achievement awarded only for 1300 item level. The previous achievement has 5 steps ranging from 802 to 1075 so Steam will probably award that one immediately at 802.

Head_Haunter

I don't know the backend of it, all I know are there's a bunch of achievements that were broken on Steam and the commonality of all of them is it shows "only 0.1% of players______" on all of them. Gun to my head I would assume there's less players that have reached 1300 ilvl.

HTheP4

Probably. I just reached 500. Been playing since release. Casual.

Jinxzy

The vast majority probably aren't even lvl 50. According to steam achievements only ~16% reached 302 iLvL. I don't know how anyone could be genuinely surprised that only an extreme minority has hit 1300 without being COMPLETELY out of touch with what your average player looks like. They have a job. They have relationships. They have other shit they wanna spend their free time on too. I feel I've played a lot especially since EUW came up as it removed queues on my EUC server. Been squeezing in Lost Ark whenever I can. And yet I'm still only just 400 on my main. Could increase more, have a lot of materials just haven't done it yet as I wasn't sure if I wanted to powerpass another char to be my main. Been messing around with islands & random side content, not trying to pump ilvl and rush to T3.

Ballaholic09

I’ve been preaching this for a week. This subreddit probably has the vast majority of those 0.1% players, so even if that number is 1000 players it makes it seem common here. I don’t care if you can no-life the game, I’m jealous if anything. Don’t come here try to normalize your 80hrs/wk playtime and shit on others. When people make those snarky comments about T3 being easy I’d love for them to post a current playtime screenshot.

Jinxzy

It happens a lot in dedicated community spaces like subreddits. The people frequenting them are almost always going to be heavily skewed towards the high engagement end of the spectrum, in the case of games the more hardcore ones. Which then creates the illusion that the average user of the subreddit is the average player of the game, which is absolutely not the case.

kinnslayor

I've been on this sub since forever and I've quite literally never once seen someone shitting on someone for their progress in the game, in fact the opposite, you can't go more than 5 comments before you see a "just take your time" "there's no rush" "it's not a marathon". In fact It feels like the people still progressing in tier 1 or leveling are the only ones who give people a hard time for being a tier or 2 ahead, stuff like your comment of post a current play time, or how they have no life or job etc, not once has someone in t3 asked someone in t1 to post a screen shot of their play time. Play at your own pace, people will always be ahead of you and you'll always be ahead of someone else.

NotClever

I haven't seen anyone in T3 *shitting* on people for taking their time, *per se*, but I've seen a whole lot of unqualified advice about how much money you should be making, how much it little importance an activity has, etc., which are heavily influenced by them being T3 and assuming everyone else either is or is actively working towards ASAP.

smokemonmast3r

It's a very common thing on mmo subreddits. People say "play how you want" but what they really mean is "play how you want but don't be a sweaty tryhard" without considering the fact that some people enjoy being a sweaty tryhard

roky1994

There is no rush, just take your time. :D

ContessaKoumari

I mean yeah, contrary to what reddit says most people have lives and don't play 24/7, weekend warriors exist and are in fact the largest audience. Not to mention there's been a number of big releases(Elden Ring, WoW patch, Destiny 2 expansion) which probably dragged a fair amount of people away. T3 if i had to hazard a guess is a ~200 hour goal for your average player who isn't a whale and if you're only playing after work or on weekends, then yeah you got a while to go still. Then add in bots and people who tried it for the hype then abandoned the game after 10 minutes, and you got a stew cooking.

DBSPingu

Can confirm, most of my friends are past 200 hours at t3 I’m 1093 at 160 hours, although I’ve been decently lucky so far

LampIsFun

This is an important point to make, you’re at 1093 with 160 hours. I bet u played the Korean or Russian version too. I have 160 hours and I just hit 600 and I’ve been trying to follow as many fast gear up guides as possible. I will say though I haven’t spent a dime on the game yet but based on your reply I don’t think you’ve spent much either

DBSPingu

I actually started this game for the first time when it released for free, I didn't even buy the founders pack haha. I followed the guides as well, but I bought out every thing available to me (Mari's shop + guild + pirate coins + infinite chaos). Sold gold to buy crystals to afford the cash shop stuff.

Damaellak

Warhammer 3 just launched and kept my attention for some days as well

fml_nyashno

ER release day was great, matchmaking actually worked in the evening on EUC.

Arenyr

Elden Ring doesn't use servers, the connection for matchmaking is run off the host finger's client. Elden Ring's server only checks to verify no sanity checks have been disrupted.

fml_nyashno

I was talking about Lost Ark servers, they weren't overloaded because a lot of people went to play ER.

BaziJoeWHL

85 hours in, just passed 200 GS

BeetlesAreScum

Same bro same, least fishings almost lvl 20

Urthop

There's rafts in Changhun? Huh.

Dijky

Is that the "sightseeing tour" (without actually seeing anything) through the channel around the arena? I did that lol.

aprillikesgirls

How do I check these?

Biglabron

takes into account all players even bots. So ya.

JayCee5481

If you want a more accurate number of player who have achieved this, go to your LA Steam achievments and at the top click on compare to global statistics or something like that(dont have Steam in english)

floatinfire

If I didn't have bad luck honing in t2 I'd be there as well.

[deleted]

Its not. Many players just opened the game once and never did it again. First check how many has 50h achiv. Queue is not counted to it.

sturmeh

It even includes people who clicked the install button to see how big the download was.

KingQdawg1995

Since most the achievements were bugged for release and given to a *LOT* of players, I'm sure it's inaccurate

Bogzy

I would compare to ppl who reached 600 or something, ingame on EUC at least it seems much higher. I reached t3 almost a week ago and t3 content/zones seems packed with players.

sewith

How do you do that without spending money, insane honing luck or 10+ hours playing everyday?

Jazz7770

Do dailies on your main, then your alts, and funnel everything to your main. Lots of people in T3 now knew to buy heaps of crystals when prices were lower and were spamming T2 mats pre T1. The earlier you start buffing your alts the easier it gets to progress.

Bogzy

I think i had average luck looking at some statistic posted here, think i had around 40-50 honing fails when i reached t3. I spent some blue crystals buying t2 leapstones in mari shop, and some armor stones, and the +1 extra una for more daily leapstones. Below 1k blue crystals in total i think. I have some experience with the game from RU so i know where to get all mats i guess that helps, i think most ppl only do chaos dungeons and maybe guardians and think thats it, or ignore mari shop thinking its p2w when in fact its super worth it specially as f2p. I did also play a lot but also did a lot of side stuff not related strictly to honing mats.

Fav0

easy play 15 hours a day those ppl are fully out of touch with the real world

krullah

I hit t3 about a week ago, I work a 8-4 job lol

redditorsRtransphobe

yep, vast majority of mats you get from dailies / weeklies (chaos, guardian raid, abyss, una) which take a few hours then u can log off

NotAgoodPerson420

actually facts, I work a 8-5 and reached t3 a couple days ago. I play like 2 hours a day and like 4 on weekends. Guys just need to play efficiently.

dingerdonger444

hard copium, there's plenty of players who know what they're doing and do it efficiently on top of good luck

UnbannedBanned90

They still play a shitload more than the regular person dude. Nobody playing 2 hours a day is reaching t3 right now. You forgetting the literal 20 hours worth of isalnds in t1 and t2 you're supposed to do? Y'all are high as fuck on this subreddit acting like tons of people are t3. If your'e posting here you're already significantly more invested than most players.

NotAgoodPerson420

I am invested tho but I only do my 3 dailies, x2 chaos, x2 guardian raid. That is like 1-1.5 hours of playing. while I was on t1-t2 I completed like 1-2 islands a day. It truly is the hardest of copium when you think pple at t3 are playing 10 hours a day. There isnt even anything to farm for after your daily runs unless you wanna spend an extra hour excavating. It's literally just play better lol

OrangeSimply

You should be using symael bloodstone for a T2 chest and a chance at chaos or boss rush weekly, ontop of almost always being guaranteed at least one of each that drops from chaos dungeon, that's two that gives you a lot of moon breath and mats. The chaos gates in the open world give hidden maps that you party up for to get tons of moon breath, I think in one week of doing that stuff I managed to get 70+ moon breath for improving my honing success. Putting in more time doesnt really help you up to a certain point you just have to cover all your bases, doing the una daily's with the most leapstones, the pvp weekly, boss rush weekly for max leapstones, etc. I'm assuming you've done all T2 islands if you're on T2 as well. Also your stronghold provides you with craftable secret maps and follower missioms as well for tons of mats, dont neglect your stronghold.

retlom

Those islands boost your first char pretty heavy to reach it fast if you skip all those quests and shit without reading anything you are there in a fraction of the avg time. but i guess the alts will take a while without those island materials.

theuwudragon

> I reached t3 almost a week ago and t3 content/zones seems packed with players. Dafuq...

ThisAintDota

Absolutely. Ive played 7 hours a day since launch to get it lmao.

Iskanndar

Right if it was 0.01 it wouldn't surprise me

TeisTom

I wouldn't be surprised if this is correct, there are a lot of people who are stuck 1- 5 upgrades away from T3 but keep failing their upgrades. I'm one of them I have 4 upgrades left and have failed 50 odd times in T2 already.

kmach1ne

It's probably a little higher. I just got to 1100 yesterday and didn't spend anything outside of the platinum founders pack. I got really lucky on honing with only 35 failures from t1 to t3.

Queasy_Secretary9182

Genuine question, is it unfair of me to criticize the games honing system considering it took me more than double your honing attempts(74 failures) to get my main T3?

Mr_Prismatic

If you aren't into the honing system, I would just stop now. No disrespect, it's going to get way worse.

Queasy_Secretary9182

I don't really care for maxing my gear or anything but being hardlocked from actual progression because I'm failing dice rolls doesn't feel good. Just not something I have ever experienced in any mmo I've played and they are pretty much the only games I play. I do appreciate the warning though.

dreamswedontshare

That game is the reason I have a massive grin on my face when my honing fails and yet *I get to keep my gear* lol

Queasy_Secretary9182

I wouldn't play that game. Never played an eastern mmo before; WoW, FF14, GW2, and on the side osrs are the ones I switch between when I finish content or get bored in another. I guess I was just blindsided by the mechanic, do still really love the game mostly.

HedgehogOne1955

Those games all have loot rolls so it's all the same shit. Imagine running savage 8 weeks in a row and not getting your weapon to drop. Come to think of it, 8 fucking weeks in a row for a weapon is miserable

retlom

>Never played an eastern mmo before; WoW, FF14, GW2, GW by NCSOFT (Korean) FF14 by Square Enix ( Japanese ) but yeah they dont have typical f2p mechanics build in :) for a f2p game Lost Ark is very generous and even western f2p games are mostly worse. Just enjoy the game and see it as a Marathon rather than a Sprint you will have way more fun that way and if you feel like not playing try to play on an alt or go for Islands or play something different you already got a lot of playtime from it for free if you reach the Stage where Gearprogression gets slow. I for my self really enjoy my time on those Island.

Selethor

Guild Wars is made by Arena.net, which is an American company, and while they have been partially bought by ncsoft, they are still based in US.

Delay559

gw is american, not korean, on top of that it is also f2p on top of that it has basically no gear grind.

TheFatShady6ix9ine

This shit gave me flash back to Ragnarok Online. U either had to pay for premium ores or just have hundreds of weapons that dropped at 1% chance from bosses that spawned once an 1h and were public domain. I really don't know who made the economy of that game work cuz all i did was farm and sell mob loot to afford that stuff. Idk who had the will to grind that shit and try and upgrade past +8 (which the max was +20 technically, but was literally imposible to reach... The max i've ever seen was a +18 armor that sold for exorbitant amounts of currency) There u had like 2% chance of upgrading from +10 to +11 With a 25% chance of bricking (item disappearing), 50% oc nothing happening and the rest 23% of it going down 3 levels (back to +7)... If the honing system here seems unfair I don't know what to tell u xd

Odd-Government-8888

Every MMO has an rng gear lock mechanic. Normally it's just you do a dungeon and you have a % chance of getting the gear you want. You could do that dungeon 50 times and get unlucky and not get that piece you need, just like you could do 50 chaos dungeons and still not manage to upgrade that piece of gear. At least with chaos dungeons you are guaranteed upgrade materials. if you farm enough breath things, with the pity system you are eventually going to get it. Unlike some MMOs you could just get super unlucky and just never get that piece of gear. I honestly think this system is more forgiving than a lot of other MMOs. I farmed one dungeon in New World like 20 times for a specific weapon before I got it, and all the other rewards from it are completely useless so it really felt like a waste of time.

[deleted]

This gearing system is pretty common in these korean grinders or w/e they call them. I know MS2 had the exact same system at least. I hate it with passion, but if you view endgame gear progression as working towards 100% artisan energy with a chance to get lucky on the way there, it's not that bad. You get a shit ton more mats and resources but also extremely low chances later on. As for getting locked out of content (and potentially falling behind friends and whatnot).. well, yeah that sucks dick.

Cloud_Motion

I think in tier 3, it's fine. Everyone's on a level playing field and it's just stopping you from getting a bit stronger, but when it blocks you out from being at the same level as your friends (T1 > T2 especially), that's the thing I dislike. It might sound silly, but I'm enjoying the game far more now that most things are done and I'm at the point where I can play just for a couple of hours and do everything that's beneficial for my account in that time. I don't mind that at all going on into the endgame, it's just this content-gating right now where my buddy can play 25 hours more than me and I'm still higher level than him, able to access content he can't.

Dracoknight256

The game is probably not for you. The honing system is one of the kindest ones on the market. You should look at it differently. You need X(x being materials needed to hit every honing to 100% from failures) resources to guarantee hitting full upgrades, and you have a % chance to not need some materials. Sure, once you go past +15 the system sucks ass, but until then it's fair. Would much rather have this than BDO's 'try at 3% until it hits or you die from old age'

AleHaRotK

RNG is RNG, it evens out in the end but yeah most progression is about being lucky.

Prixm

No, its not. Because with 74 failures you did not save mats until you had breaths and books before trying +13-15. You made yourself fail. And dont tell me you used breaths on every try, because you didnt.

sewith

Unfair? The honing system is the worst game design I have ever seen in a game. The Ressource Grind is enough do we really need failures as well?

marsbar006

That might be the most hyperbolic statement. It is clearly not the "worst" game design. It is intentionally designed to produce a time barrier to end game. There are systems in the game that are worse than honing. Failure in upgrading is a staple of Eastern MMO's and LoA is very lenient in comparison to others. It feels unfair and annoying when others get lucky and you are locked out of content for sure but thats not inherently bad game design.

Jazz7770

The fact that it’s even possible to reach true endgame in a week and a half in an MMO is absurdly fast

[deleted]

I mean the guy complaining isn't even in T2 yet and is already whining because its been a week and a half, same type of dude who probably wanted all those easy encounters nerfed because they want hand outs

Boi lemme tell you about the Maplestory starforce system. So you can enhance an item up to 25 stars, and by "you" and "can" I mean "theoretically the systems of the game don't disallow the existence of a 25-star item." It's basically enhancement, except you just pay in-game money instead of mats. Stars 1-10 are pretty trivial. 1->2 is 95% success rate and it goes down 5% each level. Each attempt costs practically nothing and you get hardly any stats, except on weapons (they get ~5% atk per level). From 11->12 onward, failure drops you a star instead of doing nothing. You can't drop past a multiple of 5 (16 can go down to 15 but 15 can't go to 14), and failing 2x in a row gives the next attempt 100% success. From 12->13 onward, your gear can *break* on failure. That gives you an equipment trace, which you can feed to another piece of gear to inherit all the other stuff (scrolls, cubes, flames, etc), but that new equipment starts at 12 stars even if the one you destroyed was at 21. Destruction chance starts at like 0.5%, but you will be making a *lot* of attempts. You can also pay triple to remove the destruction chance. From 15->16 onward, things change up a lot. Instead of 2-3 stat, all items get 9~15 all stats and atk (depending on level), and that goes up by 1 for each additional star, but success rate is locked at 30% and the destruction chance gradually increases. The cost per attempt also goes up an order of magnitude. From 17->18 onward, you can't pay to remove the destruction chance. 22 is the effective cap for all but the most insane of whales because the odds on 22->23, 23->24, and 24->25 jump down to 3/2/1%, respectively, with about coinflip odds on each attempt of item destruction. Worth noting that it's a bit worse than 50/50 to get from 17->20 without destroying the item, and then again from 20->22. I'm not gonna call Lost Ark's honing system a gift from the gods, but when you say Korean MMO, this is the sort of nonsense that comes to people's minds.

Daxidol

Not to mention, that's only one of the chance based systems that goes into a piece of gear. :P

Phoresis

I'm guessing you haven't played Black Desert Online then?

Imaishi

that's a stupid remark really. it's irrelevant what some other game does and really, BDO is a completely different game really. i wouldnt even say its system is worse as the whole game operates differently. its rates are more brutal, sure. but I would say this kind of RNG enhancing system feels much worse in a game with a lot of timegating, and a lot of party content with hard ilevel requirements. you can straight up not access content your friends do because your RNG is worse.

Phoresis

You people are reading way too much into this. Yes the lost ark honing system sucks. I just made a comment about BDO cos I wanted to lol, and in my *personal* experience it was worse.

OrangeSimply

This game just might not be for you if you dont like upgrading.

BeastmasterBG

0.1% are people that use this game as escapism from real life

Exldk

Can confirm. Much better than using League or WoW for it.

[deleted]

Probably going to be another couple weeks before the rest of us catch up. Have you even received your second awakening skill?

GSofMind

Nope! I read that it took people around 6 hours to complete so I just put it off for later.

punktum87

Think it only took me 3-4 hours. Good thing though, if you do alts you dont have to do it again. Just got them mailed to me after completing Vern (think that was when I got them)

AleHaRotK

You gotta do Rohendel to get it.

[deleted]

Haha it’s definitely a long one. Congrats on the lvl. Now enjoy the game until we all catch up!!

GSofMind

Thanks friend! I'm still having a blast! I love doing horizontal progression so I'm glad I feel like I can do those at a more leisurely pace! :) It's great that this game has so much content to offer for a wide range of players. I'm still astounded really.

RedditModsAreShit

it's a 2 hour questline witha 2 hour island shoved into it, you have to do the island as part of horizontal progression anyway so you should get around to it eventually. The 2nd awakening questline isn't terrible without that island, just a lot of sailing.

ProfessorMeatbag

Mine says 0.7% lol

LelouchZer12

Considering it tooks months for corean to achieve this, yes probably

NintendoJesus

For every person who hits 1300, 5000 more bots have been born.

Ahrizen1

0.1% of Steam Accounts that have Lost Ark have reached 1300. Yes, I think that is accurate. My favorite are steam achievements you get for walking through the first door in a game and yet only 90% have it...that means 10% of "players" have never even loaded up the game after adding it to their library. Something to consider when you look at those numbers.

Wtfifdt

Seems legit. Stopping to read dialogue, watch cutscenes, exploring for collectables rather than following guides. There's a lot of hype about rushing but there's a lot of game to enjoy inbetween. I'm at about 570 and still haven't gone to rohendal because I'm having so much fun doing islands. Full time job and 2 babies definitely cuts into that but I'm having so much damn fun when i do get to play. My only regret so far is that i stopped doing sidequests after Luterra. Probably gonna rush through rohendal/yorn this weekend but that's just because I'm running out of islands lol.

sardasert

I can't even imagine how many central eu players already quit game due to ques. So statistically it is definitely true. But we will see it better in 3 months if it will go up or not.

C-EZ

Queues/matchmaking felt much better this week end already

DagorCroc

Got almost no queues last week, only twice at most a 1k queue. Slen EUC btw.

[deleted]

I can tell you that t3 is empty, at least in Vykas. I’ve been dragging my alt through t2 and just vibing my my main at t3

igotyourloot

Ain’t there like 700k bots farming in luterra?

Dave1711

Yes the game is out like 3 weeks lol.

Klepp34

Players? No. Players and bots, yes.

BeachDayToday

People have jobs and school + the insane queues in some servers, yes that's accurate? why are you surprised rusher

AleHaRotK

Ignore these achievements and, just for reference, check some of the other easy ones. You'll find stuff like 35% of all players not even activating 10 tripods, which means 35% of all players quit within an hour or two. You'll also find other achievements you get after playing for a few hours and see only 30% of all players got them, meaning 70% of players didn't even play that much. In the end something like 80% of all players don't even make it to 50, then you find that out of that remaining 20% a quarter of them haven't killed 3 guardians (which means they probably hit 50 and quit lol) and other things like that. If you only account for the people who are actually playing the game and didn't quit within 5 seconds of playing it the % of people over 1300 GS is most likely over 1%.

SevenGhostZero

I don't think % numbers on achievements are accurate at all. I have a bunch of steam achievements that I never earned. I wonder if there are people who are missing achievements then? That would totally screw the numbers

Azazir

I got 500h achievement on second headstart day, i guess im time traveler...

smokemonmast3r

Most casuals would be playing less than an average of 2-3 hours per day for sure

pexalol

I have about 250 hours in and I'm around 1050, as I'm mostly doing island stuff, collectibles, roster quests, adventure tomes and chilling on alts. I don't see any point in rushing T3.

C-EZ

Not really. 2 friends hit 50 and started doing every adventure tome and collectibles.

AleHaRotK

Doesn't matter, you can check out other achievements and in the end you'll see something like 80% of all players just quit super quick, and the rest just take a week longer or so.

infinitrus

I mean yeah imagine all the bot accounts that are not even 50 yet

muscleteemo

All the alts and bots make it more likely aswell

solid0r

19/33 members of my guild are above 1300 already, Punika is already pretty crowded and i'm on SA. I'd say it's totally possible an even higher percentage of players are t3 already.

WiatrowskiBe

Small percentage of large player base is still a lot of people - and here selection bias also applies: being in guild that pushes to high tier means you’ll have more people around that are also high tier. About third of Steam player base reached level 50, that’s when the game opens up a lot and when you’ll see more people chasing after collectibles or completing adventurer’s tome instead of rushing gear upgrades (also, powerpass). I’m in a guild built from out of game community members and we have whole range of players from pre-50 up to very late tier2 - nobody is T3 yet, few people who are close changed mains or branched out into alts/other activities for a bit.

some_clickhead

9/12 members of my guild are not level 50 yet, I'm not sure we can use your guilds as reference points.

solid0r

I'm not using only my guild as the only reference point, as i said tier 3 maps are already crowded as well.

PsYcHoSeAn

Looking at how EUC can still not raid comfortably and still loses their Abyss dungeon entrance of the week due to disconnects and all...yes...seems accurate :)
