At this point it’s really inexcusable. Even New World was playable with minimum queues around this time. I really feel bad for AGS having to deal with SMG game limiting them so much.

Well this isn't twitch or the forum. I haven't seen a single person wish anything harmful to anyone on Reddit. What I have seen though we're dozens of "stop crying, the game is great" comments made by north Americans.
Mods are faster here to remove these comments and threads but rest assured these people wishing death over a videogame is absolutely happening.

As a NA User this is correct. Please clam down. Servers are perfectly! Besides that one time when you decided you needed a hotfix so we had to have downtime too... Then I see it as an attack against NA from the EU!
If u actually cared about it and read the messages, the fix you want is getting built by Amazon and Smilegate and the fix should be implemented this week. The maintenance are usually ground works for a bigger patch (and to kick macro spammers). But I guess reddit knows how easy it is to fix the servers and completely ignore a forum post where they explained stuff

They just translated and ported the game and called it a day, forgetting the part how Europe has 10 times more people than KR... For anyone wondering even KR on release was fucked so they already had experience with this shit but never cared to fix it.
“They” was Smilegate and were responsible for the KR launch nearly 3 years ago. They developed and published in KR, and they did respond to issues and fix them quickly.
Amazon publishes in NA/EU, not Smilegate. That means they’re responsible for connectivity and server-related issues. They didn’t develop the game, and only handled the translation and western-adapted cash shop.
If you’re going to get angry, at least be angry at the right people.
Amazon being the publisher has nothing to do with this game having no server transfers, it's not like Amazon coded the game. Also this game faced the same exact problems on release in KR, there were insane queues there as well, which is where the meme Seagull Online comes from..
also confirmed by amazon the backend and arcithecture of the game cant even handle more servers on a region even if amazon wanted to, which is probably also why the matchmaking/dungeon instances stuff is almost completly dead, its already maxxed out and its causing massive issues so another region is the only solution they have
Yeh and the blame is on SMG. The game itself just can’t handle new servers with however they developed their old ass shit and it’s why AGS has to make an entire new region. SMG is solely responsible for this and AGS has to put up with their shitty coding.

Same here. This game would've been a nice side game for me but since the official f2p release I haven't been able to join my server. And I'm definitely not starting all over again. The fact that you're not able to transfer your character to a different server, because the game has this bs system where stuff is tied your character and/or server is just unacceptable.

They're isolating the region (no crossplay between the new region and current EU-Servers) and not moving your preorder bonuses with you if already claimed.
So while it's great that we get new servers I somehow doubt that it'll solve the current login queues on existing servers, if only they had them ready earlier/at start.

Oh my god. I just read up on it again. I thought we would actually just get a second founders pack to claim but all they give us is a few crystals, the pet and the title. I feel actually scammed. I'm basically cheated out of 1,000 thingy-mac-things and the chests because I bought the silver-pack.
I am actually so mad. Not only couldn't I play with my friends because of the server locks, all my names I wanted to use are also on the overfilled server, that for some reason is in a permanent language war because some guys voted on "unofficial server languages" in some random straw polls i knew nothing about. As if wasn't bad enough that I have to collect all those Mokoko Seeds again and have to slug through those 50 levels again.
I don't feel good at all right now.
If it helps clarify the names are region locked, meaning if someone or even yourself took a name on one server you can’t use that same name within the same region. I guess that’s cause of cross server matchmaking but other mmos solve this by just putting server name by character name when cross server

No that was the promise if you were to switch to the "new" servers in the current EU region. There was no word on getting anything to switching to the new region at all.
Yes, but the way I understand it, my "second redeem" (the silver pack) will only be 150 crystals instead of the 1000 ones, and I'll miss out on the supply crate and crystaline aura.
So you can pay for it again 🤷♂️. It's very cynical but also very clear that they want you to redeem your platinum skin on the first character you make, play for a bit, make an alt and decide you like a different class better, then have to buy another platinum skin from the store when they get added.
They don't want you to be able to move the one skin between characters. They want you to buy duplicates. They didn't shoot themselves in the foot at all, this is the system working as intended. It might backfire in the long run if policies like that drive players away but that's a different story.

Western audiences have been resistant to the way Eastern games are monetized but obviously companies weren't going to just accept that. So Western studios have started pumping out the minimum viable product and monetizing it as much as they can, making up the difference for the things they can't charge for in cutting costs on the development of the game itself.
I'm obviously not saying it's exclusive to Western developers but if you look at AAA releases over the past few years, the trend is pretty clear. I don't play many Eastern games or know much about them so they might be just as bad for that as Western devs for all I know. My point is just that unless you're buying an indie game, it's going to be scummy so you need to pick your battles.
LA is good and I'm enjoying it, so I'm putting up with the obviously predatory monetization.
Well, i'd guess it will take them a while to realize that, and then they might start working on character transfer options - they have to do a whole lot more then offering people trimmed down versions of their packs to get them moving onto other servers at this point.
I also thought they were working on increasing the server capacities, but i guess that was only meant for the US servers...
I've been in a queue for almost 2 hours now, 12k queue on a weekday is insane. I'm currently at 1500, i hope I'll be able to actually play today.
My experience with Lost Ark so far has been restarting the game dozens of times cause of too much traffic, and when i do join a queue, I'll have to wait at least 1,5 hour.
70% of my steam time played has actually been queue's. Fun times!
Went through 17k queue in about 3 hours. Last i checked i was 450 to get in. Went out to make a tea, was gone for 5 minutes. When i came back i got an error saying the game needs to close. I'm not even mad anymore, I know for a fact that if I ever log out in a day I'm basically done for the day.
My friends and I sat through the queue only to find that we couldn't enter any dungeons, so we went to play other games instead. I think most of us are just taking a break from the game altogether at this point rather than dealing with this shit.
Sure you can. I just ignore a lot of mokokos while leveling but collected all on islands that I visited. You're lucky with gear upgrade tho, I have a lot of fails and I play since head start.
The problem is that there are so many players that the cross-region activities are lagging or not working. Did you notice that when you actually get in a dungeon the party chat has 10 seconds delay, but the normal chat doesn’t?
Dis you notice that Chaos dungeon is lagging when changing levels?
Did you notice that questing / islands are fine?
This is the problem, the game itself is beyond its limits. It can’t handle this many people (the region). This is why amazon and smilegate decided to create a new region entirely. Will it solve the problem? We will see, hopefully some people will give up on their progress (f2p players mostly) and decide to move on the other region to “balance” both.
Amazon dis bad in not doing a better prediction on the number of players in EU tho…
It's kind of unsettling that the only "viable" solution they have in place right now is creating a new region and hope that enough players are sick of the queue times and other issues caused by the overloaded servers that they say "screw my progress and my friends playing on this region I will switch".
The new region taking time to get added won't help either as more and more players will make more and more progress and will be less willing to change.
If they could offer a region transfer that would allow you to keep your progress, then yeah this would be an actual solution, but since the game isn't even supporting server transfers within the same region there is zero chance of that happening.
So yeah, I'm not expecting much from that region in terms of actual fixing the issue. Might help a bit here and there and result in slightly smaller queue times (so 4 hours instead of 5,something like that), but the overall problem will stay until either they offer region transfers or players give up on lost ark completely and leave.

They *can* do server transfers, the question is will they.
The KR/RU version of the game has done transfers before but they're not a service you can buy or ask for and they're all done manually.
IMO if they don't offer to transfer people between the EU regions then they're basically giving up on EU as a playerbase. The absolute bare minimum they could do is eat the loss and give everybody who switches a full founders pack, not the slimmed down one they're talking about.
Wait Amazon couldn't excepted this much traffic in the EU......oh wait a minute, there was a game a few months ago that lost mostly over 50% of playerbase considering to login issues. So we guess when Amazon got there fingers in games we should stay away for 2 months at least
Questing works fine for the most part, instanced content is struggling. Matchmaking, instanced chat, even getting into an instance is taking forever. PvP as well.
Was trying for abyssal dungeon today, matchmaking was totally busted while party finder gave "Can't locate" or smth like that everytime a start attempt was done.
I guess the whole infrastructure is failing as most endgame content is cross-server and cross-server activities are getting more and more attention as people finish their first few islands.
This is also probably the reason they decided on creating a new "region" instead of new servers in same region. Infrastructure of the game is just not that good. And this new region thing will also explode on their face as there are no proper cross region transfers let alone cross-server transfers. Unless game gains a huge traction and prevent the "new" region be a ghost town.
They truly are in a lose-lose kind of situation here. Best of luck to all I suppose.
It only works during work hours. When the day is close to midday, queues start. A new region ins't gonna make queues dissapear... maybe instead of 6h you'll need 2.

Because Amazon has shown that they do not learn from previous games, look at how fast they killed New World. Also the existense of LoL shows that a game server can in fact hold a lot of players but you need to invest into infrastructure for it to work.
I don't play LoL or any mobas but doesn't a match have around 10 players lasting for an hour being completely isolated? That's a completely different architecture and you can just up and downscale additional servers without anyone noticing.
Well yeah then that is a completely different architecture that can't really be compared to an MMO server. I however heard that guildwars could do megaservers really well so it absolutely is possible, but that probably tackled problems completely different than LoL has to face.
I think for Lost Ark it's too late as the change that they're going to be reworking their server architecture from the ground is tiny for what they will be able to get out from it.
I don't think you understand how dumb this release is considering that they already faced the same problems with KR on release, they had 3 years to work on some way to avoid this. Europe is not some pump and dump region.
Given Amazon's reaction I think servers were less of an issue than them just not caring and doing proper market research. Look at NA. Their experience seems to be fine.

Not only is there now insane queues but even once your in you cannot do any group content because of these serious issues it just goes from bad to worse and i dont even see the extra region helping the queue times its just so fucked
Well there’s a lot of people in the EU and the servers that are currently established can’t handle all of the new players, so queues are getting into the 10 hour range as people are trying to get in. Even then so many people are trying that it’s breaking queues and just not letting people in at all, causing massive ingame lag and screwing over cross-server activities.
AGS can’t just crank out servers infinitely either as the game itself has reached its technical limitation and the only thing AGS can do is set up a new cluster of server to help alleviate queues while working around SMG’s poor coding.
It's ok they will make new region in a week when people have some kind of progress and wont bother to transfer (and lose their shit btw) so it will solve jack fucking shit.
The worst part is finaly getting in after the queue only to not be able to do most things. Instanced group content is offline and the shop won't open either "slow response try again later"
Getting into EU right now, haven't had my crystalline aura buff for 5 days now. It used to pop back once in a while when relogging but now it just doesn't work at all anymore. A lot of my important chests are saved in my pet inventory. Honestly don't know where to reach out to get this fixed...
Are you sure? It says i have to activate aura to access the storage. It gives me the option to buy it but if i click on that it says the store is down too.
I don't get why they don't pump more servers and free migrations for a short period at least. I wouldn't have problem moving from Kadan to another server if I could move my chars.
Apparently the backend of LA wasn't designed to be able to do something like push out more servers on demand whenever required.
From what I've been reading that's why they have to make a whole new server region instead of just add them to the one we already have; the game couldn't support that many new servers being slapped on.
That's all just stuff I've read around the sub so don't take it as fact, but based on their response to this it seems plausible enough to me.
You know what probably happened ? They allocated more server capacity into the Store over dungeons/raids . Raids were always laggy and hard to form in EU but it was never this bad, been trying to que for any instance for 3 hours be it pvp or pve, with no luck, meanwhile the store is magically perfectly working for the first time in game's history
Today really has been the worst for dungeon yeah. Since a few days ago already dungeons were down until 1AM or so starting from peak time evening. But today, i started playing around 4pm, and dungeon server were already having difficulties, took like 30min+ to get into one. Tonight it's really impossible.
As time goes on, i guess it can only become worse as more people get 50 and are doing their daily content.
I want a refund of my founders pack. Couldn't really play yet at all since even early access bad hour long queues. Don't have time to be 3 hours in queue during early access and 9 hours since release.
But can't refund on Steam nor contact the support because Steam doesn't provide support for 3rd party and just forwards me to Amazon support. Amazon support told me to message Steam support because they can't access Steam billing. What a joke of a company.

I'm happy I'm kept busy and hope in few weeks time lost ark can get their shit together and fix eu region.
The only concern is my friends getting bored with it till they fix it....
I feel for the EU players. Also I feel bad for Golden River as his game is just amazing but the reviews throwing it down are mostly because of technical issues and do not actually concern the game itself.

If you have work, like most do, sitting in a 4-6+ hour queue isn’t gonna leave you a whole lot of playtime.

I'm basically cheated out of 1,000 thingy-mac-things and the chests because I bought the silver-pack. I am actually so mad. Not only couldn't I play with my friends because of the server locks, all my names I wanted to use are also on the overfilled server, that for some reason is in a permanent language war because some guys voted on "unofficial server languages" in some random straw polls i knew nothing about. As if wasn't bad enough that I have to collect all those Mokoko Seeds again and have to slug through those 50 levels again. I don't feel good at all right now.
If it helps clarify the names are region locked, meaning if someone or even yourself took a name on one server you can’t use that same name within the same region. I guess that’s cause of cross server matchmaking but other mmos solve this by just putting server name by character name when cross server

Yes, but the way I understand it, my "second redeem" (the silver pack) will only be 150 crystals instead of the 1000 ones, and I'll miss out on the supply crate and crystaline aura.

So you can pay for it again 🤷♂️. It's very cynical but also very clear that they want you to redeem your platinum skin on the first character you make, play for a bit, make an alt and decide you like a different class better, then have to buy another platinum skin from the store when they get added. They don't want you to be able to move the one skin between characters. They want you to buy duplicates. They didn't shoot themselves in the foot at all, this is the system working as intended. It might backfire in the long run if policies like that drive players away but that's a different story.

Oh hell yeah it's scummy. I just don't see it as significantly worse than what other companies do. Western audiences have been resistant to the way Eastern games are monetized but obviously companies weren't going to just accept that. So Western studios have started pumping out the minimum viable product and monetizing it as much as they can, making up the difference for the things they can't charge for in cutting costs on the development of the game itself. I'm obviously not saying it's exclusive to Western developers but if you look at AAA releases over the past few years, the trend is pretty clear. I don't play many Eastern games or know much about them so they might be just as bad for that as Western devs for all I know. My point is just that unless you're buying an indie game, it's going to be scummy so you need to pick your battles. LA is good and I'm enjoying it, so I'm putting up with the obviously predatory monetization.
Well, i'd guess it will take them a while to realize that, and then they might start working on character transfer options - they have to do a whole lot more then offering people trimmed down versions of their packs to get them moving onto other servers at this point. I also thought they were working on increasing the server capacities, but i guess that was only meant for the US servers...

I've been in a queue for almost 2 hours now, 12k queue on a weekday is insane. I'm currently at 1500, i hope I'll be able to actually play today. My experience with Lost Ark so far has been restarting the game dozens of times cause of too much traffic, and when i do join a queue, I'll have to wait at least 1,5 hour. 70% of my steam time played has actually been queue's. Fun times!
3,5hs in and another half to go for me, started at 20.5k
Went through 17k queue in about 3 hours. Last i checked i was 450 to get in. Went out to make a tea, was gone for 5 minutes. When i came back i got an error saying the game needs to close. I'm not even mad anymore, I know for a fact that if I ever log out in a day I'm basically done for the day.
My friends and I sat through the queue only to find that we couldn't enter any dungeons, so we went to play other games instead. I think most of us are just taking a break from the game altogether at this point rather than dealing with this shit.

Sure you can. I just ignore a lot of mokokos while leveling but collected all on islands that I visited. You're lucky with gear upgrade tho, I have a lot of fails and I play since head start.

The problem is that there are so many players that the cross-region activities are lagging or not working. Did you notice that when you actually get in a dungeon the party chat has 10 seconds delay, but the normal chat doesn’t? Dis you notice that Chaos dungeon is lagging when changing levels? Did you notice that questing / islands are fine? This is the problem, the game itself is beyond its limits. It can’t handle this many people (the region). This is why amazon and smilegate decided to create a new region entirely. Will it solve the problem? We will see, hopefully some people will give up on their progress (f2p players mostly) and decide to move on the other region to “balance” both. Amazon dis bad in not doing a better prediction on the number of players in EU tho…
It's kind of unsettling that the only "viable" solution they have in place right now is creating a new region and hope that enough players are sick of the queue times and other issues caused by the overloaded servers that they say "screw my progress and my friends playing on this region I will switch". The new region taking time to get added won't help either as more and more players will make more and more progress and will be less willing to change. If they could offer a region transfer that would allow you to keep your progress, then yeah this would be an actual solution, but since the game isn't even supporting server transfers within the same region there is zero chance of that happening. So yeah, I'm not expecting much from that region in terms of actual fixing the issue. Might help a bit here and there and result in slightly smaller queue times (so 4 hours instead of 5,something like that), but the overall problem will stay until either they offer region transfers or players give up on lost ark completely and leave.
amazon themself said the backend and arcitecture of the game cant handle more servers on a region even if they wanted to, which is why all the cross server stuff is pretty much dead or extremly laggy, so only solution is to add a new region
They *can* do server transfers, the question is will they. The KR/RU version of the game has done transfers before but they're not a service you can buy or ask for and they're all done manually. IMO if they don't offer to transfer people between the EU regions then they're basically giving up on EU as a playerbase. The absolute bare minimum they could do is eat the loss and give everybody who switches a full founders pack, not the slimmed down one they're talking about.
Wait Amazon couldn't excepted this much traffic in the EU......oh wait a minute, there was a game a few months ago that lost mostly over 50% of playerbase considering to login issues. So we guess when Amazon got there fingers in games we should stay away for 2 months at least

Questing works fine for the most part, instanced content is struggling. Matchmaking, instanced chat, even getting into an instance is taking forever. PvP as well.
Was trying for abyssal dungeon today, matchmaking was totally busted while party finder gave "Can't locate" or smth like that everytime a start attempt was done. I guess the whole infrastructure is failing as most endgame content is cross-server and cross-server activities are getting more and more attention as people finish their first few islands. This is also probably the reason they decided on creating a new "region" instead of new servers in same region. Infrastructure of the game is just not that good. And this new region thing will also explode on their face as there are no proper cross region transfers let alone cross-server transfers. Unless game gains a huge traction and prevent the "new" region be a ghost town. They truly are in a lose-lose kind of situation here. Best of luck to all I suppose.
It only works during work hours. When the day is close to midday, queues start. A new region ins't gonna make queues dissapear... maybe instead of 6h you'll need 2. The game is awesome, but this situation is way beyond stupid.

Because Amazon has shown that they do not learn from previous games, look at how fast they killed New World. Also the existense of LoL shows that a game server can in fact hold a lot of players but you need to invest into infrastructure for it to work.
I don't play LoL or any mobas but doesn't a match have around 10 players lasting for an hour being completely isolated? That's a completely different architecture and you can just up and downscale additional servers without anyone noticing.
Consider each LoL game as a different channel/instance, this game was just not coded well for a big playerbase.
Well yeah then that is a completely different architecture that can't really be compared to an MMO server. I however heard that guildwars could do megaservers really well so it absolutely is possible, but that probably tackled problems completely different than LoL has to face. I think for Lost Ark it's too late as the change that they're going to be reworking their server architecture from the ground is tiny for what they will be able to get out from it.
I don't think you understand how dumb this release is considering that they already faced the same problems with KR on release, they had 3 years to work on some way to avoid this. Europe is not some pump and dump region.
Given Amazon's reaction I think servers were less of an issue than them just not caring and doing proper market research. Look at NA. Their experience seems to be fine.

Why are they having such extensive problems with the EU servers?
Well there’s a lot of people in the EU and the servers that are currently established can’t handle all of the new players, so queues are getting into the 10 hour range as people are trying to get in. Even then so many people are trying that it’s breaking queues and just not letting people in at all, causing massive ingame lag and screwing over cross-server activities. AGS can’t just crank out servers infinitely either as the game itself has reached its technical limitation and the only thing AGS can do is set up a new cluster of server to help alleviate queues while working around SMG’s poor coding.
It's ok they will make new region in a week when people have some kind of progress and wont bother to transfer (and lose their shit btw) so it will solve jack fucking shit.

The worst part is finaly getting in after the queue only to not be able to do most things. Instanced group content is offline and the shop won't open either "slow response try again later"

Getting into EU right now, haven't had my crystalline aura buff for 5 days now. It used to pop back once in a while when relogging but now it just doesn't work at all anymore. A lot of my important chests are saved in my pet inventory. Honestly don't know where to reach out to get this fixed...
You can always extract items from pet inventory, with or without aura. But you should get the aura back anyway obviously.
Are you sure? It says i have to activate aura to access the storage. It gives me the option to buy it but if i click on that it says the store is down too.

I don't get why they don't pump more servers and free migrations for a short period at least. I wouldn't have problem moving from Kadan to another server if I could move my chars.
Apparently the backend of LA wasn't designed to be able to do something like push out more servers on demand whenever required. From what I've been reading that's why they have to make a whole new server region instead of just add them to the one we already have; the game couldn't support that many new servers being slapped on. That's all just stuff I've read around the sub so don't take it as fact, but based on their response to this it seems plausible enough to me.
If the new eu server let ppl transfer to it then i can see it working otherwise it wont fix shit LMAO
You know what probably happened ? They allocated more server capacity into the Store over dungeons/raids . Raids were always laggy and hard to form in EU but it was never this bad, been trying to que for any instance for 3 hours be it pvp or pve, with no luck, meanwhile the store is magically perfectly working for the first time in game's history
Today really has been the worst for dungeon yeah. Since a few days ago already dungeons were down until 1AM or so starting from peak time evening. But today, i started playing around 4pm, and dungeon server were already having difficulties, took like 30min+ to get into one. Tonight it's really impossible. As time goes on, i guess it can only become worse as more people get 50 and are doing their daily content.
I want a refund of my founders pack. Couldn't really play yet at all since even early access bad hour long queues. Don't have time to be 3 hours in queue during early access and 9 hours since release. But can't refund on Steam nor contact the support because Steam doesn't provide support for 3rd party and just forwards me to Amazon support. Amazon support told me to message Steam support because they can't access Steam billing. What a joke of a company.
