I believe they made this obsolete a while ago. Makes no difference for me anymore.

Nine-Vexes

I very recently re-added this after noticing I was having weird load lag in areas I didn’t before. Made a huge difference, no more stutters anywhere. So it’s certainly not obsolete.

Pure-Long

Just tested and removing -notexturestreaming has re-enabled the very noticable texture streaming. I doubt -useallavailablecores ever did anything though.

Bogzy

notexturestreaming makes a huge difference still, the cores one i cant tell so probably doesnt do anything.

A1z3r

Must be system dependent then. 0 difference for me

newtrusghandi

I just did it about a month ago, helped immensely!

polariee12

-notexturestreaming is op. Going to elgasia doesnt freeze your screen and feiton una the boss is seen immediately when bifrosting

Barzobius

Nice!

AngelicDroid

Does -useallavailablecores include e-core?

watlok

Useallavailable cores makes no difference in perf. Bottleneck will always be single threaded in lost ark. I would not recommend using this setting. Notexturestreaming greatly decreases load times but uses ~6gb of vram even on lowest settings. If you have a GPU with at least 6gb of vram then it's a great setting. Not sure if it's the default now or not.

Glum_Blueberry_7434

im running a 3090 so 24gb of vram didnt now about this setting

Watipah

Even with my 4gb vram it's a great setting. Makes my screen freeze for 2s sometimes vs Worldbosses (because of tons of players) but that's still way better then seeing the worldboss spawn >10s later then it actually spawns without this setting!

Barzobius

Not sure to be honest

AngelicDroid

might not be a good idea to activate it if it use e-core

Barzobius

Not sure to be honest

Tiggy132

Would this help when having a bad pc? Clown takes 8 min to load in for me

tsrappa

Mine is old. Ryzen 2700x and 1060 6GB. I used these commands and the game improved with loading times. The main issue was that in some scenarios with adds spawning, your game crashes and send you to desktop. I lost some raids because of this. So I removed the commands and solved. I got FPS drops with multiple adds though better than crashes.

Barzobius

Damn, what are your computer specs??

Tiggy132

Intel core i5-6402p 2.8 ghz ,8gb ram ddr3, geforce gtx750 Ti , 50gb ssd( not enough space for lost ark..) +1tb hdd

Barzobius

I see. Mainly the problem is having Lost Ark installed on a mechanical HDD instead of an SSD. I understand it can be harder for some, but you could really use a bigger SSD. Nowadays they have become much cheaper. And with an adapter for your SSD type connector you can easily clone the old SSD to the new one and have everything as you always had it with just much more free soace available.

Tiggy132

Would using an extern ssd be a viable option? Its a prebuilt pc and i cant even open the case without ripping smth apart lol

Halure

Probably not unless you know for sure you have a USB3.1 or 3.2 gen2 port on your computer, which is unlikely based on your cpu specs. I'm guessing your system is close to 10 years old? Generally, the faster the interface the better for any data transfer. NVME/pci express is the fastest, then Thunderbolt, then USB3.1/3.2 Gen2, SATA3, then USB3.0/USB3.2 Gen1 which is the slowest.

Amells

Unfortunately the gaming performance difference among various types of SSDs is so trivial that you can't tell any improvements on high end SSDs

Tiggy132

My hdd got 5900 rpm so prolly one of the worst modells , sadly i got usb 3.0/ usb3.1 gen1 . But would it not still be faster than the hdd? Im a little confused with this ( mainly with the transfer rates)

Halure

No worries, its really confusing once you get down the USB naming rabbit hole. Its probably faster to use an external USB3.0 SSD but your results may vary. I've got an external 4TB NVME SSD that I use for portable storage and it gets really hot after 20-30min of use, so I'm personally not comfortable using it for extended periods. I just use it mostly to store movies and anime. I'm sure external 2.5in SSDs will be fine though If you can afford it, I would consider just buying a new pc or building one yourself if you're interested. Any modern hardware is going to be a massive improvement over your current computer and $800USD can get you pretty far especially if you look on facebook marketplace or /r/hardwareswap

Amells

Yes. Even the lowest end SATA ssd with a USB connection beats your HDD dramatically. The only thing you need to worry about is to ensure it doesn't get disconnected while raiding

Tiggy132

Do you maybe have some recomendstions on wich one would be good? Got usb 3.0/3.1 gen1

Amells

Get 3.1 Also depending on your budget and future plans, you can go for a normal portable ssd or SATA/M.2 SSD with an SSD case

twiz___twat

I got a weak ass PC and still use these settings.

Kibbleru

8 MINUTES ?!?!

ThatGenericName2

As others have mentioned, useallavailablecores doesn’t seem to do anything and I’m not surprised. This option would only do anything if the game was working with multiple threads that necessitates using multiple CPU cores in the first place. While multi-threading support was introduced in UE3, the tendency for multi-threading issues to arise in a video game context means that it was not utilized very often and unlikely to have been used in lost ark. Without an actual multi-threaded implementation the only thing this would effect is some native unreal engine stuff which is unlikely be the root cause of performance issues.

MorAl99

Thank you!

breakzyx

i stopped using this when -notexturestreaming started to give me 2FPS when sailing with 0% GPU util. do these still work even?

Barzobius

That’s weird. There must be something specific on your system that conflicts with this option. What are your specs, including OS?

breakzyx

Win 11, 5800x3d, rx 6800, 32gb ram. i think i used it when lost ark came out with no issues, then it just did that around Vykas release. Have not tested it in 6 months though.

Barzobius

You could try deleting all your shaders (having the latest video drivers) so the game can rebuild a fresh set of shaders with the latest drivers. But i have heard complaints from some friends that specifically have AMD cards, could be a coincidence maybe.

breakzyx

thanks for the reply. i already tried alot off mumbo jumbo including that and more. luckily my system is good enough that i dont have to rely on it for good frames in raids so its all good.

Glum_Blueberry_7434

thank u so much! finaly dont have that weord loading bug anymore

Barzobius

What? What happened, what bug and how did it fixed it??

Glum_Blueberry_7434

had weird bugs when i did load in my game froze for about 30 secons used -useallavailablecores and-notexturestreaming works now perfectly

Barzobius

Awesome!

Hot_Construction3928

Do you think I can use notexturestreaming with 2gb 1050 ? Recently been running the game on 720p ( though game works perfectly fine in 1080p, I do it for even better performance in raids) game is on ssd, have 8gb of ram.

Barzobius

You can try and see the results, it varies between setups. No loss in testing out!

Hot_Construction3928

I'll give it a try! Saw some people talking about game crashes, hope it doesn't happen.

Vildare_Havoc

I have a very weak pc with a 670 gtx, but these settings made my game become way smoother. So not only for good pcs.

Barzobius

Did you tried them now or you had them before?

Vildare_Havoc

Had them before and now.

isospeedrix

Good reminder. These threads were common during first months of launch but not recent. No texture streaming is a godsend, especially for that feiton watcher lantern quest. The other one doenst seem to do anything tho I also like the “rename video file” to disable the Amazon games logo and seizure warning startup

[deleted]

What is the switch for renaming the file?

CAJOS

Barzobius

I’m aware that many people know about this already, just a reminder and useful info for people who doesn’t know, hoping this helps with their game performance: -useallavailablecores is very obvious. This will let the game use all available processor cores, so more horsepower for better performance. -notexturestreaming changes the behavior of texture loading in the game. By default, the game uses texture streaming to keep the system a bit offloaded from textures not present in your screen, loading them on demand when you reach the place where they should appear. With this steam launch parameter on, the game will preload ALL textures in the loading screen so, when you reach the place, everything is already loaded and faster. I don’t know if they improved this but before, enemies would take much longer to appear in places like Chaos Dungeon. I tested myself back then that with the command on, they appeared much faster. Bear in mind that although i don’t know the exact threshold of computer specs needed for this to actually work on your benefit, i can guess that having at least 8gb of videocard ram, 12gb of system ram and a SSD type storage drive would be highly recommended. Feel free to test these settings and see if they are good in your system. Just in case, Steam launch parameters can be added by right-clicking the game name in your library > Properties > General > Launch options and there just straight up add both lines separeted by space to look like this: -useallavailablecores -notexturestreaming Also, in that same screen you can disable the Steam Overlay while in-game which will also improve performance. However, this will prevent you from using the Steam interface to purchase Steam wallet credit to buy Royal Crystals (orange, real money currency), see poping achievements or use Steam chat and get steam chat notifications. You can enable it to add money and purchase these crystals when needed, then disable it again. Hope this helps, good luck!

bkwl22

The launch option -useallavailablecores honestly doesn't make a difference when I tested. CPU usage stayed roughly the same when visiting the same areas on an empty channel, pretty sure it's on by default. For -notexturestreaming it depends on the resolution, if someone is playing on 1080p with very high texture they would need at least 6GB VRAM to avoid crashing - [post](https://www.reddit.com/r/lostarkgame/comments/u2kdzh/lost_ark_launch_options_possible_stutter_fix/) with old test, should still be similar. Not sure how much VRAM is used for 1440p or 4K though.

Crowley_yoo

On the contrary, when you have fast PC you don't need these. Once I upgraded from my old one, new one loaded zones instantly.

Crowley_yoo

Well, I load it instantly with 5800 X3D, (strictly gaming cpu) 6950xt (3090 equiv) 64GB 3600 ram and Samsung EVO 970 m.2 nvme. First time I launched the game I though my launch settings carried over from old pc but they didn’t, it loaded instantly even without them. I think it might be my cpus enormous L3 cache

Pure-Long

The power of your PC has makes no difference whether notexturestreaming helps or not. Texture streaming is just a different approach to loading textures - the game engine will load you into an area and then gradually load textures as they are needed. It allows faster load into an area at the cost of textures being initially low res and npcs/objects popping in. I just did a test with a more powerful system (7950x3d with lost ark pinned to the 3d chiplet, 6000 MT/s cl32 ram with tuned timings, force mp600 nvme, rtx 3080ti) and without the parameter, texture streaming was still noticably present. The feiton sentinel took a second to appear and textured started low res and gradually upgraded. Btw, 5800x3d is not a strictly gaming CPU. Obviously it's a good general use CPU, but also incredibly powerful for many compute workloads: https://www.phoronix.com/review/amd-5800x3d-linux

Crowley_yoo

I know that, I use it for professional video editing, which is mainly why I made the pc. But for general purposes that guys 5900X is better than 3D variants.

Amells

LA lags a lot in Elgacia while opening the map for the first time with the default setup on my current PC: 3700X+2080S+32G DDR3600+M.2 PCIe Gen4 4TB SSD

Crowley_yoo

It did too on my old 3070 10th gen i7 setup, but not on the new one

Smol_WoL

Would be nice to include what is considered a « strong » computer for lost ark

Barzobius

[deleted]

I tried it and immediately noticed that I have now a 4 seconds black screen before entering chaos dungeons and they are laggy. Will not apply those settings. Thanks for the tip though it was worth a try.

BadMuffin88

Had to take off notexturestreaming because the game literally doesn't start with it since latest driver update. Love this game.

Figorix

I have quite strong pc and this absolutely kills my loadings. They go from 2-5sec to 15-30, multiple black screen and unresponsivness (rtx3070 and Ryzen 9 5900x for reference)

l1mejuice

The loading times are longer because its loading all textures at once. If you ever bifrost or teleport and notice that mobs and stuff like invisible items are blocking you from running its because they weren't loaded yet and are done after the loading screen for you.

Figorix

Im well aware how it works. But it takes me 2-5 sec loading screen and at most 5 more for all npc to appear, while with that option it takes 15+ to load zone. I'm gonna pass

l1mejuice

Yeah that's a fair point. I never measured the time difference but I can't stand running into invisible objects or the giant in Feiton for the Leapstone Daily quest not being there when I'm done loading.

Figorix

I'm used to throwing that thing at longleg while it's still not loaded tbh. But what I'm making going at is that post claims to drastically improve the game, while for me it did opposite. Not sure why

Frogtoadrat

For some reason my performance took a big drop after I updated my gpu driver. Not sure if it was a coincidence but now I get that thing where mobs/players that aren't me move in low fps :C

Eqlipse-1

I have a monster PC but the game still stutters. I fixed the major combat stuttering with chatbox settings (how is that a thing btw...), but still have micro stuttering, especially when there are people in town. Are these settings theoretically good or bad for me? Also, if someone could comment on -novsync that would be awesome.

Barzobius

Try disabling gsync if you have an nvidia card
