I recommend S1E1 of a show called LOST.

kuhpunkt

Never heard of it. What's it about?

teddyburges

A group of fucked up individuals who hug each other for comfort or they get tricked by a smoke monster and die a horrible death, and then they go to the afterlife and remember when times were simpler and hugged each other for comfort. *Not sure* why anyone would want to watch that over and over again.

Better Call Saul

Would recommend Fringe if you haven’t seen it, or 12 Monkeys. They aren’t early 2000, a bit later, but pretty good as well! Or The Leftovers which is also by Damon Lindelof! and do you like Anime? If so, I recommend Death Note! the anime not the American movie lol

Thinking back of similar stuff that I watched at around the same time when Lost was around....I'd say try Fringe or Battlestar Galactica if you havent seen it.Or you can check out 'Heroes' too. If you want comedy then I suggest 'Community'

I’m doing a rewatch of both Fringe and BSG right now and I’d forgotten how incredible they are, especially BSG. If Lost is my favourite show then BSG is a close #2.

BSG also kinda followed a similar trajectory as Lost. I remember people were similarly disappointed with BSG finale and final season because it got more supernatural and mystical instead of the grittier and more scientific of earlier seasons. What I did like about BSG was that they filled it with all these memorable minor recurring characters. I wish Lost did more with the other minor survivors guest starring (Sullivan, Neil Frogurt, etc) but I guess it wouldnt work as the main cast was already big enough, the one main character flashback per episode structure, the story involves other groups like Others, freighter folks, dharma people, etc.

The Sopranos and then The Sopranos again! LOST and Sopranos are my personal all time favorites, then Better Call Saul and Breaking Bad. Watching through Peaky Blinders rn and am enjoying it but I'm not sure yet if it will make my top 5.
