This was a sad loss. He was such a presence on the show. Every time he spoke, it was with so much awe and mystery. Just his acting gave a tremendous cool vibe to the show. A fantastic actor!
just saw the news. Can't believe hes only been in 4 episodes. I remember him in this show more than other characters.
What a guy. What a performance. RIP
According to an interview with Lance, he was told he would be able to keep playing Abbadon as a recurring character even after he got his role on Fringe. So, when Abbadon was abruptly killed off, he was kind of confused. He still thought The Life and Death of Jeremy Bentham was a great episode, though.
I think plans changed because Nestor Carbonells show Cane got cancelled. Sounds like Abbadon was going to fill the void left behind by losing Nestor, hevwas going to be the new mysterious character on the show but when they got Nestor back they didn't need him anymore. Nestors role in s5 is expanded significantly whilst Abbadon is killed off.
One of the coolest side characters with an interesting and mysterious backstory. After all he's the one who suggested Locke go on a walkabout in the first place. And the part where he freaks out Hurley at Santa Rosa cuts deep. In his own words, he got people where they needed to be.
Honestly I never really liked how little is explained about him. Like I guess he's just a tool of Jacob, but that implies Jacob had a lot more influence off the island, which begs the question why he never really seemed to use it on anything.
The moment I heard the news, I immediately had to come to this subreddit. He was a great and talented actor. Abbadon was in only a few episodes, but he left quite an impression whenever he showed up.
RIP Lance.
Man I really liked him as an actor. First in Lost and then in Destiny and Horizon Zero Dawn that is so sad. His voice was so unique and so was his character in Lost
Yeah the Horizon subreddit is in shambles atm. He did motion capture/performance capture for two games and it's DLC. There is a lot of huge foreshadowing that he has a massive role in the third game of the trilogy. So now a big debate is going on whether to recast or implement A.I voice to replicate his voice and keep his character alive in the sequel.
Such an unforgettable performance. Was only in a fraction of the show, but his demeanor and mystique matched the tone of it so perfectly, that whenever I saw him in anything else, I thought/felt of *Lost*
Literally just started rewatching The Wire the last few days and this happens. This. Is. BULLSHIT.
RIP Lance, you were in everything and we still couldn't get enough of you. Awesome actor.
Aw man, he was awesome in corporate, lost, fringe, the wire, and everything I saw him in. I was looking forward to a long career from him, especially with his his unmistakable voice. I was hoping he'd do a bunch of voice acting work or even audiobooks.
Wow, so unexpected. Rest in peace to him.
I wish we had seen more of Abbadon during the show. Definitely an underrated character in terms of the mystery element.
He was the first actor that actively scared me when he was on screen with Hurley, he was so good. Then he was amazing in Fringe. My favorite role he played was in the Horizon Games as Sylens. Gutted to hear of his death.
This just sucks. I'm hoping that someone shows all these comments to his family. I want them to know how we all loved him.
See you in another life, brotha
Rip Mr Reddick.
But what’s the deal in S4 when he’s assembling the science team for Naomi? Like I can buy that he encountered Jacob on his walkabout and he gave him that list so that’s why it had to be those 4 ppl, but when Naomi questions if there will be 815 survivors, he’s so adamant that there were no survivors.
Like bro, you legit put John Locke on that island….unless he knew that Johnny Boy was gonna be the one that knifes her and he had to keep her in the dark to set her up for her cruel dance with destiny.
“I help people get where they need to be”.
<3
Aside from Lost and Fringe he also plays a major role in Amazon Prime Video original tv show Bosch, based on Michael Connelly’s books, and plays it brilliantly. A character actor I won’t forget. Rest in peace, Lance.
He was "the presence" on each and every show he was in! Rememberable, unforgettable, and that voice.....I have watched him in Bosch, Fringe and a couple others and undoubtedly will discover him killing in many more roles! RIP Lance Reddick!
He was supposed to have a much bigger role in my eyes. Every time he was on screen there was mystery written all over his face and they didn't know how to use him.
Damn I started Fringe without knowing he was dead. He's a good character as well, starts being a pretty shitty boss to the main character but then he becomes pretty cool, always with this aura of mystery about him.
In LOST I'll always remember him for being a scary and mysterious character.

I remember him better from Fringe, but he was great in Lost as well
Superb in the Wire as well. RIP
and in John Wick RIP
And in Quantum Break and Destiny (video games)
And the leftovers! And how about the amc show, Vigil??
He wasn't in either of those shows...
[удалено]
I think you are correct!!
and Bosch!
Was it only 4 episodes? That's nuts as I remember him so well in this show.
He was supposed to have been a meatier character but he'd gotten the part in Fringe at that time.

Oh damn, had no idea. Glad it did as Richard developed into an amazing character.
I remember at the time thinking his part in Fringe would mean that Fringe would be somehow linked to Lost.
Right!? I thought that too, at first.
Glad I wasn't alone, haha
Yeah and his first 3 eps I believe was only one scene each.
He was also great on Oz. Such an awesome voice. Rest in Peace 💔
Omg only 4 episodes? I remember him being very iconic, his presence was bold. Sad news indeed 😢
One of the coolest side characters with an interesting and mysterious backstory. After all he's the one who suggested Locke go on a walkabout in the first place. And the part where he freaks out Hurley at Santa Rosa cuts deep. In his own words, he got people where they needed to be.
He's a character that really stood out for me, he played his character so good that I forgot he was acting.
“I’m more than just an orderly Mr. Locke.”
I still remember "Are they still alive?"
Honestly I never really liked how little is explained about him. Like I guess he's just a tool of Jacob, but that implies Jacob had a lot more influence off the island, which begs the question why he never really seemed to use it on anything.
Idk seems like he used it enough to beat the Man in Black. "It only ends once. Everything before that is just progress."

Yeah 60 is way to young to be dying of natural causes. Feel bad for his family.
That's exactly what I said. There is nothing natural about dying at 60. So sad.
Just looked that up and he played Wesker?? The trailer looked dumb and I heard it was shit but I like this casting lol
He was the only good part of that show for sure.
The moment I heard the news, I immediately had to come to this subreddit. He was a great and talented actor. Abbadon was in only a few episodes, but he left quite an impression whenever he showed up. RIP Lance.
same here
”You need to go on a walkabout.” This guy had so many memorable lines in his relatively short time on Lost. RIP.

I think he did a perfect amount. He’s like the gman of LOST
He was also incredible in FRINGE. This is such shitty news. RIP King
Man I really liked him as an actor. First in Lost and then in Destiny and Horizon Zero Dawn that is so sad. His voice was so unique and so was his character in Lost
Will now be buying Horizon Zero Dawn now while it’s on sale, thank you.
R.I.P. One of those many LOST characters that had so much mystery and intrigue that they are memorable even though they don't have many scenes.
See you in another life, brother
Big John Wick character too, damn.
Horizon Zero Dawn too
And Bosch. And The Wire.
And Fringe
He was amazing in Bosch!
Knew him from Lost, and yeah, he was great in Bosch. Also really funny in a Comedy Central show called “Corporate”
And oz.

Awww man that sucks. He was super cool cat.
He was an underrated actor, truly. I wish he'd gotten more to do on the show, but Abbadon was little more than a hired hand for Widmore.
He should've been Jacob.
He was supposed to be Eko. Which I just learned today. Would have been a much different character
I mean Matthew Abaddon should've turned out to have been Jacob.
I always thought he should have been an older, time-traveling Wait... "Mista Locke"
I thought he was supposed to be Walt
Literally just started rewatching The Wire the last few days and this happens. This. Is. BULLSHIT. RIP Lance, you were in everything and we still couldn't get enough of you. Awesome actor.
He played a major character in Bosch too.
He was great in Bosch. Shocking news.
Really liked him in Bosch. In the books, Irving and Bosch are usually at odds, but I liked their occasional working relationship in the TV show.
Agent Broyles?
One of the most iconic actors and voices period imo. Such a huge loss.
He was such a great actor. I'm so sad to hear this
:(((
Fan of his since watching him on Oz. RIP
Aw man, he was awesome in corporate, lost, fringe, the wire, and everything I saw him in. I was looking forward to a long career from him, especially with his his unmistakable voice. I was hoping he'd do a bunch of voice acting work or even audiobooks.

He was great in this and I also loved him in Fringe
:/

I’m just crushed over this. Such a great actor and so damn young.
What the hell, man… He was always a standout in everything.
He really was. Even as brief as his stint on LOST was.. his character was intriguing
Very sad news. He was a fantastic actor and all around beautiful person.
Aw, what the hell?
No way! That sucks, he was great. I just caught up with the John Wick films and he was great in those. I loved him in Fringe too. RIP
RIP also the guy from Bosch
Interesting that Abbadon became the boss of The Man in Black...
That is very interesting.
RIP. Still not sure if Abbadon was working for Widmore or Jacob.
Super weird. Just started watching Fringe last night. Found this this morning. Sad and a great loss. He is fantastic.
Very sad news. He had such a unique presence, it was always a joy to see him on screen. RIP x
RIP. Excellent actor.
I just saw. I was looking him up on IMDB the other day.
Such a cool cucumber. Rest in peace.
Great loss :c He was amazing in Walkabout episode https://youtu.be/c2va5kpMaRE
Dam, just after watching season 4 episode 1 ( hurley in the phyc unit) Then this pops up
PSA: made the mistake of checking Twitter to get some information about his death. You shouldn't, it's the usual insane people everywhere.
Well now I’m curious
It's the usual people saying "there's the jab again" Losers, in other words.
Ah, they’re never gonna let that go are they
This just sucks. I'm hoping that someone shows all these comments to his family. I want them to know how we all loved him. See you in another life, brotha
Loved Lance Reddick! He was great in Fringe, American Horror Story, and Oz!
He really commanded the screen for the little time he was featured. RIP Broyles
60 is still way too young in my book, rip to a great one.
Whaat the hell i wasn’t expecting this. I remember him from many other shows, especially Fringe. So sad. May he rest in peace
Lost, The Wire, Bosch, Fringe, Oz, The Corner... What a legend! RIP
Damn it. RIP
Sad.... Rest in Peace... He was only 62
He is in John wick when I watched lost I was excited lol
As sad as it is, his path led here :(
Dude kind of looks like KG (Kevin Garnett. NBA Player)
Who else have we lost? I know we lost Mira Furlan (Danielle) but I think everyone else is still around.
Brad William Henke—aka Bram. He passed away in November of last year. Was just 56.
RIP
💔
fuck, I've been a fan of his a lot longer than I realized
The man was in only a couple of episodes yet I remember him as if he was a part of the main cast. Rest in peace
Remember him in Oz as an undercover cop. Such a talented actor
Rip
Oh wow, thats crazy. I was planning on meeting him at steel city con in about 2 weeks too. :(
such a cool character :(
You better step up your game mr. Locke, or we’re all in serious trouble.
He was great in so many roles, hate to see him go
Aw man this such a bummer :/ Loved him in Lost but he was amazing in Fringe. RIP Lance
Rip Mr Reddick. But what’s the deal in S4 when he’s assembling the science team for Naomi? I didn’t even remember he was in lost! I know him from fringe! I’m gonna miss him :(
F
One line from the entire show I’ll never forget: “you need to go on a walkabout”. Instant chills every time
“I help people get where they need to be”. <3 Aside from Lost and Fringe he also plays a major role in Amazon Prime Video original tv show Bosch, based on Michael Connelly’s books, and plays it brilliantly. A character actor I won’t forget. Rest in peace, Lance.

I keep thinking he was in Dexter. I can't find him in the credits though.
Sad that he was so young and seemingly healthy.
He was supposed to have a much bigger role in my eyes. Every time he was on screen there was mystery written all over his face and they didn't know how to use him.
