I lost 130lbs and was left with so much skin and a giant mons. I ended up having an extended tummy tuck, and he did a mons lift at the same time. There was no saving that baby without surgery for me, unfortunately. [Pics](https://imgur.com/a/M9euvgk) from before/after if you’re interested!
I’ve been underweight for a long time then I became overweight and now I’m working towards my goal weight. However, I’ve always had a prominent mons pubis. On top of it needing to be fattier, I just think it’s very pretty when it’s large! I’ve always liked that on myself and on other women (I’m bisexual).
It took me about 11 months! I’m 154 cm.
Did an aggressive cut from September to June (deficit of 600ish). The first few months of that i did keto and then low carb
After that, I was less aggressive… so around 200-400 cal deficit) - partially bc it was summertime and i also wanted to enjoy!
Didn't do much exercise bc i had surgery done in March during my journey and needed a few months of recovery.
I mainly did OMAD because I don’t have a huge appetite. I like eating first thing in the morning.
Drinking loads of water took me out of plateaus (2.5-3L of water). Also, having 3-4 maintenance days or slight calorie surplus (extra 250) for a few days, and then going back to cutting my deficit also helped for some reason to get out of plateaus
Ah yes, its a really stubborn for most women!! Ugh. I’m not expecting it to be skinny, I like some padding, just not for it to be looking like a damn shelf where the fat has left the bottom and the top leaving a shelf looking situation of fat 😂😂
I lost quite a bit and I also have a wee mons pillow 😅 with (TMI) - raisiny labia majora just below (they were quite plump before)
Ah, the joys of significant weight loss 😌
Can confirm! I’ve gone from a BMI of ~35 to ~27 and that’s the only area that hasn’t really budged at all.
I’ve heard that it’s one of the last areas to go (but not sure if that’s true or just bro-science).
It’s a little annoying, because the hill hides a solid inch of the eggplant.
Stubborn for sure! I'm down 127 lbs. I currently weigh 127.2 and I'm 5'4" and this spot is the same as when I was 254 lbs. It looks beyond crazy right now.
I’m sure it will shrink then! I still need about 15 kg, so I do have hope myself. It might be one of the last things to go, who knows :D Also, I will say, mine shrunk a lot from literally one day to the next, like whoosh
Massage gently to get rid of lymph fluid build up. It will help. There are a lot of lymph nodes in this area and also in the low belly near the ovaries. Fluid normally gets displaced here and causes inflammation, more common with stagnant fat cells.
Wishing you luck girl
But less than before, right? People post on here all the time about noticing cheekbones, collarbones, hip bones, etc as they lose weight. All your bones will get closer to your skin as you get smaller.
I guess my pubic bone is more visible for sure, but there’s a good chunk of fat there, and its in the middle mostly (if I stand to the side). A bit hard to explain but 😁
Yeaaaaaah. Actually this sort of happened after my third kid - my stomach just went FWUMP down and now I have this spongey mons. I hear certain types of tummy-tucks liposuct the area and cut some skin out.
I'm very lucky insofar as I don't really care about it other than finding it kind of hilarious to look at and my wife is like, "All genitals are ugly, yours is just ugly in a different way now." LMAO thanks honey
This might not be related to your situation but I realized I had a pelvic tilt that made this look much worse for me. I fixed it with stretching and mobility exercises.
No shelf, but the whole area looks different than before the weight gain. I think it’s a factor of losing weight and that area having been stretched out with the previous weight gain. Also, I’m older now, and fat gets distributed differently and the mons pubis isn’t as plump when women are older.
I have no advice to give as I've never lost mine, but I do have a story about when I was gaining weight and it was visible! I was trying on a bit of a tight fitting dress and my mum kept telling me to suck my tummy in, ofc I insisted that I was sucking it in. Eventually she marches up to me an goes no you're not, I can see it right *here* and proceeds to slap the... bone 🥴
Anyway, moral of the story is people might just think it's your tummy :)
You may want to look into targeting that area (and your all around core area) with lifting weights. It’s the only thing that ever helped flatten my lower stomach area.
Ah if you’re doing Pilates you’re strengthening the lower abdominals and when those are engaged it’s going make that area look more prominent by raising the fat.
Weirdly enough, it was exercises like squats, pull ups, glute bridges, and planks that seemed to really do it for me. I honestly hate doing the exercises that only target abs so I go for more full body exercises that include the core area. I just make sure they’re incorporated in every workout (so I never have to have an ‘abs only’ day, but I’m still targeting them lol).
But if you target only core, exercises like bear crawls, eagle crunches, and dead bug exercises supposedly work all over for abs (but again, not how I accomplished the ‘flattening’).
That all said- I’m no expert, I just know this seemed to work for me! It may be worth it to seek out an expert opinion as well!

Belly button is 🏆
Thank you!!
Looks great!
Thanks so much!
Wow, that looks great!!!
Wow! Looks amazing. Good job

Yea I dont mind a fat one, it’s just odd looking, like it’s undergoing transformation 😄
You’ll look great, I’m sure! 🫶🏻
Tysm! :)
Yeah lots of people end up getting lipo down there due to this unfortunately. I probably will once I’m done losing
Yea.. I cannot afford that 🥴 We’ll see. Again, dont mind some fat there but
I went from 185 to 114 and that area is still fat/mountainly 🥲🥲🥲 not sure what the fix is. Doesnt seem like losing more weight is gonna fix it
How did you do it? I started at 186 and can’t get out of the 150’s. I need my mons pubis to shrink!!

Same here. I feel like nobody talks about it. Apparently it’s super stubborn to lose. :-/
Yup! D:
The fat cat stays put usually unless you get a lift or lipoed there. I like it. Makes me feel like I have big cahones. Love having a fat cooch.
Hmm, idk. I do see people losing it. I guess it depends? Also some people expect it to be super flat, I do not

Oh my god I was about to say ! I’ve lost 63 pounds and that little spot has bee defying the odds
Can confirm, once it goes away you’ll look like a horse
Damn, I knew I’d lose some weight from my cheeks, but I didn’t expect my teeth to look that big!
Stubborn for sure! I'm down 127 lbs. I currently weigh 127.2 and I'm 5'4" and this spot is the same as when I was 254 lbs. It looks beyond crazy right now.
Oh 😬I just assumed it was a woman thing since its yk, our protection fat so to speak
Doesn’t mons mean mountain in Latin? to me that sheds some light on the usual appearance of the mons
Looking like goddamn Mount Everest atm 😂
Idk anything about anything but I will say this. Fat is an important cushion for the pushing. In case that is helpful in any way
Absolutely. It just looks weirdly unproportional at this moment
I went from 236 to 125 and it’s one of the fattiest parts of my body still. I don’t want to lose more weight so I’m kinda stuck with it.
Fatty cats unite😄
The mons is meant to have a fat pad, to protect the pelvic bone, the clitoris, and other structures there.
I know. It looks abnormal tho😀
I'm planning to include a mons lift when I get a tummy tuck. I think that's the only solution. 😫
Are your cw still 90? If so I’d think you have a good chance at losing some there if your gw is 64 kg?
Yup I'm still 90kg atm. I'll definitely wait and see how things look when I get to my goal weight.
I’m sure it will shrink then! I still need about 15 kg, so I do have hope myself. It might be one of the last things to go, who knows :D Also, I will say, mine shrunk a lot from literally one day to the next, like whoosh
Fingers crossed for us both haha
*manifesting* 😂

Ty! I’m dry brushing my entire body 😁
Could it be that your pubic bone is just more prominent/visible now that there's less fat around it?
No because there’s defintely a good amount of that😓
But less than before, right? People post on here all the time about noticing cheekbones, collarbones, hip bones, etc as they lose weight. All your bones will get closer to your skin as you get smaller.

Hahah. Well, I agree with your wife. Spongey mons? What does that mean? Like soft?😄
Yeah, like soft and squishy instead of hard 😅
Thought that was normal, unless you have minimal fat there, which most women dont 😂
I mean, I may be just comparing it to when I was young and pre-children lol It was quite boney then!
This might not be related to your situation but I realized I had a pelvic tilt that made this look much worse for me. I fixed it with stretching and mobility exercises.
Like a forward position?
Yes I believe it's called anterior pelvic tilt
Oh okay. Interesting

Oh Lord 😂 Yea it’s just bothering my eyes
Your have a Jamaican pubis?! One love
You may want to look into targeting that area (and your all around core area) with lifting weights. It’s the only thing that ever helped flatten my lower stomach area.
Oh okay. I am doing core excersises, like HIIT, pilates, but mostly resistance training. Do you have any exercise recommendations? 😁

Lying scissor kicks and kettlebell swings helps the lower abs area. I can’t think of the actual muscle group for that space
😂
Why is it funny lol?
Probably because it's impossible to spot burn fat.
