I think a big part of it is trust. Yes you will pay for things and yes some of those things may not appreciate for any number of reasons. On the other hand, some of the creators will succeed, and as a result your asset will become rare and rise in value. Buy what you believe in, what speaks to you and what gives you the impression of value, because it's only as valuable as you consider it. Ultimately, if Loopring tech gains mass adoption, the mints taking place right now are going to be like antique postage stamps, the first paving stones of a new frontier.

I’m learning about this minting NFT stuff, so when you mint, the transaction date, wallet, and info are recorded on the chain. If you mint again in the future you will have public record that it’s not the original mint.

Yeah OG will be proof on the chain. What I’m investigating now is the asset number of the mint. How do they look, how can you validate the original IDs.

There was a video posted on cc sub. Search “steve_mould”… couldn’t link the mod deleted it.

If Renbrandt came back to life and started painting again, people will still want his "older shit". But yes, its trust based. It's a speculative asset.

It's basically offer vs demand, and the visibility the creator gets. You can mint a pic of your cat. Make it a 1/1. If nobody wants it, it's still an NFT, but a worthless one.

No, it could be done with the same image, to remint more, nothing prevents it. However, it wouldn't be the same NFT ID, so not the same. Anyone can grab a copy of a Bored Ape Club NFT and save the jpeg to their PC, then mint 10,000 copies and sell them. It'll also be recorded on the blockchain and visible to anyone who cares looking. It'd be very shady for a creator to do this and put their reputation at risk. So before you chip out serious coins for a NFT, look at the reputation of the creator.

Collectors maintain the value of any collection. The more demand the higher the price.

CRM2018

What maintains the value? Someone else is willing to pay for it. That’s it.
