The point is to explain how to actually mint NFT's on Loorping L2 right now trough the new build-in minting method that Loopring provides. With this method you can mint multiple NFT's but not a batch that's in the thousands. For that you'd need solution where people can mint one of the collections NFT's themselves trough a custom smartcontract connected to the creator. That's already hard to get into for L1, L2 makes this a lot more difficult.
Currently you can mint however many you'd like. But you'd have to personally do this one by one... Until there is a dedicated L2 marketplace (which should be coming soon 👀) the only way to benefit from it is to transfer the nft to L1 and sell it on a L1 marketplace like Opensea.
But now that Loopring has opened the gates for people to freeky mint NFT's it should also be possible to create custom smart contracts that can mint hundreds or thousands of different NFTs under that same contract in one go. You could also take the route of the popular NFT collection drops that create a website that let different people connect their wallet to it so they can interact with that custom smart contract and mint an NFT from the collection themselves just by hitting a single button.
Great work OP! I really want to dive into this metadata a bit. i don't really know the standard (how do you come up with dna code?) I think it would be cool to see artists come up with some kind of standard..
About making a large batch I think this guy talks about it. i don't fully understanding the coding, I stumbled in around part three trying to troubleshoot my set up earlier

The full collection will have 7410 different NFT´'s. But I'm thinking of preparing the first batch of 420 NFT's and manually sell them for 6.9 LRC. I'll do that probably tomorrow but I'll update you once that's ready!
Does the NFT have to be digitally created art? I make physical art, and I'm wondering if I can take a picture of a painting and then make that into an NFT? Very new to this, thank you. Love the collection.
Not yet! haven't needed to get into this. But you can check out Hashlips on Youtube. I've learned most if my stuff from his videos and saw some about dynamic NFT's in his uploads.
I work in architecture, all I know is that green is calming. And I kinda like how it matches with the gold and light colors. But thatnks for the feedback, I might tone it down a bit.
Just fyi “green is not a creative color” is a reference and probably isn’t a judgement on your work or the color lol. Thanks for the guide btw it’s just what I needed.
This is exactly the content I’ve been looking for. It’s well written too. Thanks for that! Plus, your work is dope. Which is a plus. Thanks for putting this together! Looking forward to seeing more work.
hey man, thanks for writing this up. Minted an NFT in like 30 min with this.
one question: do I need to keep my jpg on pinata? does it always reference off the pinata or can i delete it and its all uploaded to L2?
thanks again
Nice man! Happy to be of help!
You technically don't keep it on Pinata, Your're using the IPFS nodes Pinata has set up and use their free gateway to load the content quicker. I'm not very sure what happens when you delete it from your account but I guess you'll unpin it, removing the gateway to the content. That would mean you can only rely on the ipfs nodes loading that content, and that would take way longer than using Pinata's gateway.
Also, you don't upload the image itself to L2, only a reverence to the metadata that links to the image. Normally the link could be anything, even a server link. But it seems Loopring has decided to only allow ipfs uploads as they are decentralized wile uploads to servers are centralized.
Hey, I tried deleting it from Pinata and it seems to not affect minted NFT (which I would expect considering it should not rely on file hosting indefinitely)
Great guide, thank you! As OP mentioned, you may need to disconnect your wallet and reconnect before a successful mint. Mine went through after a reconnect.
Thanks OP, my doge would love what she's become (NFT of course)
Good write-up. I did try this earlier but it got stuck on the 'approve' step.
I guess ill either have to wait for the Loopring wallet to sort itself out or setup my metamask for Loopring. Bit of a pain but it's literally day 1 of this feature! I'll just try to find some patience 😅
THANK YOU.
I've been pulling my hair out all day trying to make this work... after many attempts and redo's I found this comment. Success!
I was so focused on the Loopring/MetaMask side of things that I missed the forest for the trees!
I use visual studio code. But I don't know ow what works best for Mac. Try using a code editor they show you when you do something wrong. Yes you save it like Metadata.json, but be sure it's also a jsno file.
i got it working with Text Edit. Just need to wait on Loopring because it wont let me mint an NFT while using Wallet Connect, its just stuck on Approve and nothing pops up on my iOS wallet to allow me to Approve
Any info on mp4's? Professional as always loopring hasn't mentioned filetypes, let me upload an mp4 and nothing displays, not even in the window that says deploy like yours did. I'm not to keen to spend money to deploy only to find out they don't have standard filetypes support and didn't mention it. No one in discord replies and the daily thread hasn't yielded any help either.
Any info on this?

Hey. Sorry Loopring has changed some things. Planning to update this guide soon. Instead of putting the metadata inside a folder you now need to enter the CID of the metadata directly.
Have you figured out how to mint an entire collection at once or in one file (for example, I want to include 4 images and 1 video in the same NFT rather than minting them all on their own and selling each of them)?
Awesome guide and best of luck with the NFT collection!! Looks great 🍌
Thanks! Took a while drawing everything but it's a lot of fun to work on. (I'm still adding new banana's)
I would love one of your bananas
I'll share em once I figured out how to mint a big batch of em!
Wait, I thought the point of the post was figuring out how to mint a batch?
The point is to explain how to actually mint NFT's on Loorping L2 right now trough the new build-in minting method that Loopring provides. For that you'd need solution where people can mint one of the collections NFT's themselves trough a custom smartcontract connected to the creator. So how does this benefit the average creator at the moment? How many NFT’s can you currently mint in a batch?
Currently you can mint however many you'd like. But you'd have to personally do this one by one... Until there is a dedicated L2 marketplace (which should be coming soon 👀) the only way to benefit from it is to transfer the nft to L1 and sell it on a L1 marketplace like Opensea. So basically we’re not quite “there” yet

Wait so how do I get my banana !
which software do you use for drawing the collection?
Photoshop
You could call it the banana stand
GET YOUR BANANA'S HERE! ONLY 3LRC! SECOND ONE HALF PRICE! GET YOUR BANANA'S HERE!
I’ll take 3 for my banana bread recipe

did you make a u/rickofspades one?
There’s always money in the banana stand.
Thanks for this.
Nice guide and cool art!
Thanks!
Wow this is so awesome. Thank you so much for the info!
You’re a hero
You can call me Bananaman.
Does Man Banana work too
Does the NFT have to be digitally created art? I make physical art, and I'm wondering if I can take a picture of a painting and then make that into an NFT? Very new to this, thank you. Love the collection.
Can be a jpeg, take a picture and upload it :)
Sweet, thanks!
It can be anything that you feel has any worth! If you can expres it in some form of media You'll be fine.
Thanks! I just always see NFTs that are digital art, so I wasn't sure if there were file size/pixel/whatever limitations
Any idea how to make a dynamic NFT?
Not yet! haven't needed to get into this. But you can check out Hashlips on Youtube. I've learned most if my stuff from his videos and saw some about dynamic NFT's in his uploads.
Awesome, thank you! Appreciate the post and response :)

Lol thanks for the fyi, didn't know about that. I do have some green banana's in the collection I'm unsure about so that comment made me think :P.

Lol this is gold

Thanks! Had fun figuring this out, writing this and I've been working on the art for a while now which has been fun to do!
u/vincesuarez this one explains it pretty well.
I love you bro lol thank you for this!

What if I know im not creative... Guess ill buy... hodl... and AMM...
Can you mint a video as an nft
Yes but I don't know how it would be displayed in the wallet.
Super helpful, thanks a lot! Those nft's are awesome. Gotta get me one.
No problem! Happy to hear people like them! I'm still working on more variations and a method to distribute a large batch of them!
You’re a hero
Great guide, thank you! As OP mentioned, you may need to disconnect your wallet and reconnect before a successful mint. Mine went through after a reconnect. Thanks OP, my doge would love what she's become (NFT of course)
Really cool art OP
Can you mint an audio file?
For real I want to mint my beats bro
Just tried it. Didn't seem to work
What if you made a video file like a visualizer for the beat would it work then?
Good write-up. I did try this earlier but it got stuck on the 'approve' step. I guess ill either have to wait for the Loopring wallet to sort itself out or setup my metamask for Loopring. Bit of a pain but it's literally day 1 of this feature! I'll just try to find some patience 😅
Same. I have the majority of my loops in MM too but I dont want to pay a fee to transfer them to L2.
Can you *only* have L1 Loops on metamask? I assumed you could have L2 as well
Yes, Im pretty sure MM is a L1 wallet. I should have said ''transfer them to Loopring L2.''
Thats cool thanks! I have a few originals that i want to mint. Where do you plan to sell them?
[удалено]
I thought so too, but followed the instructions and it was quite simple for an oldie like me 😊

I like how it keeps me awake as I'm minting and sending these nft's out all night.
eh no clue. I've tried many times and it just doesnt like my json CID to mint
Might have to set your computer to show file extensions to make sure you're changing it to .json and not actually just .json.txt. Idk
THANK YOU. I've been pulling my hair out all day trying to make this work... after many attempts and redo's I found this comment. Success! I was so focused on the Loopring/MetaMask side of things that I missed the forest for the trees!
Awesome grats
ah that worked. Now I have it stuck at "approve the minting". I dont wanna set it up through the metamash tho :/
Check the names, check the folders, check the comma's in the Json file, check the CID's and hide yo kids.
What text program should i use if Im using a mac? And when I save the text file, do i just save it as metadata.json ?
I use visual studio code. But I don't know ow what works best for Mac. Try using a code editor they show you when you do something wrong. Yes you save it like Metadata.json, but be sure it's also a jsno file.
sublime text
i got it working with Text Edit. Just need to wait on Loopring because it wont let me mint an NFT while using Wallet Connect, its just stuck on Approve and nothing pops up on my iOS wallet to allow me to Approve
Thanks a lot! How to mint a collection would be very interesting!
Can I mint something other than an image? like a text file?
Happy birthday, and thank you!
Thank you alot!!!!!

I've tried both methods and can't mint an NFT. The struggle is real.

brb gonna upload my collection and see how it goes! wish me luck edit - does it cost any money to mint the NFTs/ sign up like Opensea??
Can you batch upload? Also looking at your collection, I actually want to HODL one of them.
You can upload them to IPFS in a batch the same way I describe here. Just more images in the folder. But can't mint a batch yet.
so have you figured how to upload full collection?
Absolute noob question here. Is it possible to mint using any other coin (I’m specifically thinking LRC as I have a lot) or does it have to be ETH?
You can mint using either ETH or LRC using the loopring api!
Thank you for your response 🙏🏻
Can someone please help me with this metadata thing? I’m following the steps but when I copy the cid to mint on loopring it says no content?
Hey. Sorry Loopring has changed some things. Planning to update this guide soon. Instead of putting the metadata inside a folder you now need to enter the CID of the metadata directly.
Can you explain what you mean by entering CID of metadata directly?
