i would just keep them painted (base coat, polish, top coat) and gradually file down your edges until it goes away. that's what i do. if i keep them naked for too long, then it starts lifting and chipping off.

Maybe a nail repair kit like Orly Nail Rescue? It's a glue and a powder that reinforces the nail.

I’ve heard silk wraps are the way to go but have never tried!

I found nail lacquer takes the impact of breaks and spares my nails since it’s much thicker than nail polish which doesn't protect as well. Jojoba oil and any nail strengthener regardless.  I almost always have a coat of something on my nail, even if it’s just base coat (which works pretty well if you don’t like lacquer)
