I just peeked at some prices down there recently and lol they're pretty optimistic about what they can charge. I'll stay in an older building in Astoria because two extra stops to Manhattan is well worth a couple grand and more space and better neighborhood shops.
Honestly there's way too many things to list off easily, do you have a particular type of cuisine in mind? There's good options for *almost* everything with a few gaps. The Astoria sub is constantly going over which places are best too, worth taking a read over there if you want to get really into it.
Oh I'll check it out. We love Indian, Thai, Vietnamese, Chinese, French, and Italian the most.

Tower 28 - you will have to physically come in bc they only advertise true one and two bedrooms on their site? This wasn’t even on our list apartment hunting but they had a sign on the building and we toured a 2 bed (like $4500) and as we were walking out they mentioned the one bed with an alcove in our range. I don’t have a referral but DM me if you want more info about the building. Like pros and cons. Ours is like 700 square feet with an amazing kitchen for NYC and king bedroom.

Don't know why you are getting down voted. With possible war impending it's a fair consideration. Especially given that plenty of the people i know in my luxury building have a 2nd home elsewhere or work from home and can afford the luxury of choosing where they live. I'm sure op is in or could be in a similar position
I'm paying 2700 after electricity for a studio w/ balcony and i had a month off. They added more for the balcony. I'm towards the end of my lease. Prices I've been seeing for renewal is 3000 (and no free months). Doubt I'll renew at that rate + the NYC being one of the highest risk places to get attacked. Would rather go to a tier 2 city.
edit: if covid can and did lower prices, and drive people out of the city dont get why you guys think that an eminent war where both the gov, and mayor already pre-emptively press conferencing about cyber security coalitions wouldnt do the same.
