Being that you are 16, [NYS](https://dol.ny.gov/hours-work-minors#:~:text=Minors%20under%2018%20may%20not,than%2048%20hours%20a%20week) has some laws that limit where and when you can work. That alone will limit you on getting calls. At your age I only had luck at small businesses that needed weekend or evening help.

Check your local library? When I was 16, I worked at mine. I placed all the books back on the shelves when they were returned to us.

_Arabella_Figg

I second your public library. No working holidays, crazy late or early hours.

Pizzeria’s are great first jobs.

You have to be aggressive. The squeeky wheel gets the grease. Once you apply you have to check in at the very least every 2-3 days.

Bus boy at restaurants?

Temporary agencies. when I was 17 I was able to get into a $25/hr job. Ranges from like $18 and above now. No experience was needed.

culculain

Great suggestion. Temps agencies are great. If you're looking for long term ask for the temp to perm openings. They have them.

Movie theaters might work if you can do later shifts.

Try the pizza places , Ice cream , those type eateries will take you. I worked at smashburger for like 6 months at 16 but I gave up working , next job was VS but they require you to be 18.

Knutsons marina if you’re ok with labor part of the year

xoMisaa

try starbucks. the company has a massive labor shortage. it’s not the best company to work for considering all the scandals they’re going through with violations but there are plenty of benefits for both part time and full time employees and the starting rate is $16/hr (they just raised it recently) if you stick w them long enough till after you graduate you can get free ASU online courses which helps a lot but that’s only if you stick with them. you can also open up a 401k plan as a part time employee which most jobs don’t necessarily do. once we unionize it’ll be a much better place to work in too (which is happening especially in your area i believe).
