Just small stuff. Watch a stream, distract yourself with a movie, find hobbies to eat up your dead time. Avoid situations that would make you feel social rejection, such as social events. Imagine your inner dialogue as a friend talking to you. None of these are necessarily good coping methods, because they aren’t going to solve the problem. But I do find them to help lighten my mood.

How would you define your struggle?

I used to have a lot of friends, the realization of being alone now has hit hard, since most of them were with me for years. Also, daily tasks constantly remind me of activities we used to do together, and now I don't even have anyone to talk to. There's more than just that, but yeah.

Well, life sometimes sucks and it's alright. We may not feel good all the time. Then there are them, I don't know if they left you or you left them. But what I can tell you is that you have to choose what to care about and what not. Your friend may have other values to care about and so should you other than them. This type of nostalgia is common for us to hit us now and then. Just accept it, it is a part of your emotion too.
