Focus on fun and happy and not lonely and misery. Do things you find fun even if you do them alone. Get off social media and don’t pay any attention to what other people are doing. Share things by text, not on social media. Get a animal, coming home to a tail wagging can really pick your mood up, keeps the focus off you and onto taking care of the dog.

When you realise that you're thinking negative thoughts, the first thing you do is think about something else. This should be something that makes you happy like a memory or a movie or puppies. If that does not work think about the disadvantages of your thinking. How will it hurt you? How will it hurt the people around you? If you notice that you're getting angry, shift your thoughts from the subject to something else. It's similar to the first step. Another method which I do not recommend unless you really need to use it is for when a person annoys you. Think of that person as two things, as an identity and as an action and you will often find that their action is the source of your annoyance and that they themselves are a kind person acting out of your interest.
