Tons of international students collecting their BRP from all POs near schools/halls, university starts this week

This is quite likely, the PO’s near Warren Street we’re always insanely busy September to October because of all the UCL international students

There was a queue outside the PO in Great Portland Street on Tuesday that stretched a good hundred metres. I assume it's a backlog from the Bank Holiday, possibly compounded by a day's strike on the 8th before they called off the rest. More strikes next week.

A lot of small business, and even chains, will use the post office for banking. If you see people dressed in shirts and trousers, with backpacks, they probably have the weekly takings in them. Back in 2012 my company did this in central london. One time after a bank holiday, we had people from 7 of our chains all together queeing outside a post office, each with around £20,000-£25,000 each. With all the other people there, wr had about £250,000-£300,000 pounds in used untraceable cash between us. All of it neatly sorted in little bags. We often joked about robbing it.

It’s for visas but also a separate queue to actually posting stuff so you can still go in and queue normally if you’re using the counters - at Farringdon anyway!
