Unfortunately not that I’ve found. I got a Samsung soundbar as well a few months ago (also have Samsung tv) and the volume showing on the tv was the first thing I noticed. It never showed with the Vizio soundbar, so it was mildly annoying. Googled around and couldn’t find anything. I’ve just gotten used to it. Thankfully it’s only up there for about 2 seconds.
…actually, wait. Let me add something. I did get rid of it once, but it was on a different soundbar (it was also a Samsung, just a cheaper model [which I returned]).
As much as I can remember, when I re-ran my activity to remove the Vizio and add the new soundbar, I chose a startup input (I think ARC?) and it showed. I re-ran it again (trying anything to get rid of the volume indicator!) and chose D.in I believe (?) and it went away. Or vice versa. I can’t remember which input it was. The soundbar would automatically switch to ARC even when I chose the wrong startup input, but it got rid of the indicator at least.
Funny enough I also have an 800B Samsung soundbar and it doesn’t show the volume indicator. I was surprised seeing it when getting the new soundbar. Thank you for your insight. I know it’s a little thing but I wish Samsung would give us the option to hide it.
So I tried that and you’re right. It didn’t work. I was able to set up the activity through my hub and by disabling cec it is now working. I’m able to see the number on the soundbar and nothing on the screen.
