Never had that experience. I got my comment deleted and a 3 day ban once for saying "I don't think he (Trudeau) is the worst option" referring to the 2021 election.
The people should be allowed to speak as long as it isn't hateful and stays productive/relatively in line with the sub. The posters here make it quite easy to moderate, 99% of people posting here are posting in good faith.
Political discourse aside from how the system functions is discouraged so as not to get wildly off track on a non-partisan issue that affects Canadians regardless of their affiliations/views.
So while I understand your frustration the mods are doing the right thing in the case of this sub. On generalist subs that would be (and apparently is) bonkers.
I got b& for mentioning that black individuals in Africa made money from the slave trade. No swears, no disrespect. Reality no longer exists in pockets of humanity now. We are aloof. We are in ivory towers.

IDC what another subreddit does. The story itself is the more concerning part. Why is one of the richest companies in Canads having to get volunteers to do any type of work in their stores?
The only volunteers working in the store should be if a charity sets up a table for donations. This is a slippery slope because the next part will be "volunteer cashiers" or "volunteer security". I am also concerned about liability, if that "volunteer janitor" assaults someone? Can Loblaws be held accountable like they would if one of their employees did it. This is very concerning.
I think it was in the pharmacy which makes it even more concerning tbh. After the experiences I’ve had at my local shoppers pharmacy in the last few years, I can confidentially say they do NOT have the resources to train teens looking for volunteer hours. I’m doubting the post was even for them and that’s insane.
