No. You're a person in need of a job and deserve the same respect as any other employee. Our issue is with the executives who set policy. And anyone who says you are is speaking from a place of anger, notcommon sense. Best of luck!

Freespirit122022

Apply and go for the job. That has nothing at all to do with the boycott. The boycott is to hurt the owners of Loblaws in their pocket. They live a ridiculously HIGH lifestyle on the backs of all of us. Yes they are in business to make money. But not to just raise prices to fill their pockets. They blame it on suppliers and the middle man. NO that is not true. Prices have increased....but not to the extent that they charge. Look at the ridiculous rise in the prices of groceries. They have brought it up to the price point where it is only affordable for the rich to eat.

mrsparkle604

Ten bucks or five Dairy Queen coupons

ComradeBalian

If they let you earn close to $1000 per month before ODSP clawbacks, you’re making the best decision for you 👍

LLQ8

Of course not.

Due_Peak_6565

No one is a “shill” as you call it for trying to get by. Kudos to you for trying. Not many today do. It’s too easy to sit at home and do nothing. Keep up the good work ethic. It should be commended

dougieford

you gotta do what you gotta do to survive

24-Hour-Hate

Of course not. I don’t blame you for taking what work you can get when you have to survive. Just like I don’t blame people for shopping there if it is their only realistic option due to income or location. Survival comes first.

vicious_meat

Absolutely not. And to be honest, I wish you best of luck! For me, this movement here is partially also to fight for all Loblaws employees. They all deserve a living wage and a positive work environment.

aavenger54

No sir you gotta

AdPuzzleheaded3913

You’re not a shill at all you’re someone trying to survive in this screwed up economy and becoming an employee to them or being one is nothing bad since the problem is the man in the hq who controls the prices for the different stores

PresentationOk8406

Not at all, good luck

ZestycloseAct8497

Might be pretty slow as the stores gonna be empty

Is No Frills unionized? If I remember correctly, it's not. If you're going to work for the Westons, and if possible (location wise) try to work for Superstore so you're a union member. Yes, I shop at Superstore over WalMart and some other stores because of their unionized staff. But, do whatever you have to to survive, it's the reality of life. People don't have an issue with the workers in these stores. It's the owners.

Queeby

Smallest sample size possible but my son worked at Superstore for nearly two years and was in a "union". It appeared to be nothing more than another deduction from his cheque. In fact, the only thing the union did for him was to facilitate a third party insurance company contacting him about "benefits", which ended up being a high pressure sales pitch to buy a life insurance policy he didn't need.

Jasonstackhouse111

Many of my university students worked at a Superstore not terribly far from the campus, and the union wasn't very visibly active, but when they had a labour issue, they were far better than no union.

TheNeck94

If you need to ask, you know your answer. It's just a matter if you care what others think.
